Thanks for this video! I need my lower harness rebuilt on my 94 SL500. A shop quoted me 700 bucks to rebuild mine. After watching this, I know I can handle it. Once again you have pulled me away from a Wallet fire. You’re awesome!! I feel like I owe you lunch now 🤣
Really helpful, I have a 92 S500 with a mayor wiring problem, any wire that I moved was cracking and making contact, there for the injectors were dumping fuel into the pistons, again really helpful. 👍🏻
thanks for the video... I have replaced my upper wiring harness but no the lower wiring harness. So everytime I drive my 1995 S124 E320 and hit some small uneven road like from asphalt over cement, manhole covers, cracked roads & freeways... the whole engine shuts-off completely (no electric, no power steering, no brakes, nothing on the cluster gauge ) and then cluster gauge will light up all indicator lights. Then when the vehicle is in shoulder and or safe side of the road, I will turn the key off and try to start again by going first to 2nd position on the ignition and will see all indicator lights will come on except for the "check engine light". Vehicle will sometimes not crank totally and then will crank but will not start. I noticed to that when I wait to let the engine temperature go down below 80F from maybe 97F +/- the engine will start. Could it be the lower wiring harness the short circuit everytime I hit a bump can shut off all electricity while driving? Kindly advice From mbwarehouse_find
Definitely sounds like something is loose or there's a short somewhere. I would start with the lower wiring harness. If you know it could be iffy, it won't hurt anything to repair it.
sick. thanks so much man. been having intermittent start issues. everything is fine, lights come up in the dash and everything, go to crank, no click no turnover no nothing. but then, the next day it'll work just fine for a week or 2, then repeat. hoping this solves the issue!@@FriendlyMBTech
Can you tell me how much longer the 4 wires to the 4pin connector are, compared to the battery cable? Mice ate those 4 wires, so I had to patch them, but I want to get the length right.
Each has their own ups and downs. The M119 is smoother than the M113. The M119 is DOHC vs SOHC for the M113. Less goes wrong with the M119 than the M113. The M119 doesn't have an intake manifold that breaks like the M113. The M113 will last longer than the M119. The M113 is cheaper to fix than the M119. The M113 has more performance variations and options than the M119. More power is available from the M113 and it's options than the M119. More parts are still available for the M113 than the M119. A lot of M119 parts aren't available any more. That's just off the top of my head.
@@FriendlyMBTech I always felt like the M119 was a bit superior when it comes to build quality but I’m a huge fan of the naturally aspirated M113 5.5 in the Older AMG cars. I know the M113 feels a bit easier to diagnose 😆
