M12 FUEL 12-Volt Li-Ion Brushless Cordless Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit 

I'm a commercial electrician, Just getting into Milwaukee and I've used coworkers, and company M12 fuel impacts before. I love the size and power so I bought the M12 Fuel combo Hammer drill, impact, hackzall, as a bonus i picked the 6.0 battery. Can't wait to get my hands on it

The 'drill' setting on the impact is not used for drilling. It's actually used to drive self tappers into sheet metal for example.

I'm a journeyman carpenter and have the M12 Fuel hammer drill. It's my drill of choice for when I don't want to carry too much, but still need the capability. I rate it very high, but it could be improved. The clutch ring is too loose allowing accidental slippage, and the handle circumference is uncomfortably large, even for my big hands. Despite those two things, I still find it one of the best lighter drills I've ever bought.

Tried using the impact driver on a 3in screw for some curtain rod bracket. Drove the bracket 1/4in into the drywall before I got my finger off the trigger.

The impact driver is a beast for its size. I have one. Serious tool

TIM from Canada comments on your question I was in your same predicament I bought an M 18 hammer drill and impact kit got a 2.0 and 4.0. Bag and charger but it was the double charger the M18 ,M12. Charger this kit was 399 Canadian. But then I bought. A m12 SAWZALL It come early with the M 12 charger.2.0 battery. I guess what I am trying to explain here is. Most of the time when you buya M18 Kit you usually get the double charger.. from Milwaukee .. but if you buy M 12 Milwaukee kit ... fuel nonfuel... you will only get m 12 charger

I got this kit along with the 3/8 stubby m12 impact wrench for $250 a few weeks back. I like the m12 line of tools so far especially the little 3/8 stubby. That thing is a beast.

Cool. I have the brushed version of this kit that I picked up at HD for $99. They work fine, but do appear and are technically a bit long in the tooth So I found a price glitch a couple days ago and bought the fuel version of the kit which includes a free 3/8 ratchet for $99...not too shabby.

Sometimes it feels like Milwaukee sends chargers with everything they sell, I'm drowning in them by now.

Q: Can the Impact Driver be a drill? If yes, why is there still the Hammer Drill? I mean what the Hammer Drill can do better than the Impact Driver?

Are these the 2rd generation? I'm watching in June 2023. I bought this set in January 2023. I think it was the 3th generation. It had a red line around the chuck. $229 and a free 5.0ah battery. I returned it. Didn't need the 5.0 battery. My concern was the heavy weight in the chuck. And the grip was OK but it's not like a slide on battery grip. I'm a homeowner and have a few projects. Will be screwing some 2x6 to my rafter tails. A squirrel chewed on some. And I have other projects. Is the Milwaukee M12 a good choice for me as a homeowner and not a professional?

just bought this set and a 3/8 ratchet for $218 they have a special right now where you can pick the ratchet or 4 or 5 other items if you buy the set of drills

I have the m18 surge 1/4 hex drill. Beast. Use my m18 fuel hammer drill to mix thinset. ( I do tile ) beast. I would like to get the m12 combo to be able to get (batteries) for few other things that I like from the m12 . The stapler when I put paper . (Not the lath) .. that small grinder that comes in handy.

That's not a drill setting that is a self-tapping screw setting where it acts like an impact but goes full speed until the self-tapping screw cuts through the metal and then it stops so you don't over screw

Aprox how many pounds can the m12 bag can handle, i ordered the set and im planing on using the bag for car junker trips and want to know if it handled the high torque 1/2 Impact wrench and tools

If it was in case it'd be another 80 to 100 higher. I'm getting ready to buy this kit and get the rachet for 223. I'm all Dewalt but need a really small drill and want the rachet. Since Dewalt won't make me a rachet ill have to get it the m12. The Dewalt 20v charger does the 12v as well and I got the super chargers so it does the 60v as well. Milwaukee ought to make their charger do both as most customers are in both systems only makes since. Also to both make 2 good 4 amp or better chargers not b.s. 1 or 2 amp with kits I throw those out. I also need to be mobile and need shop space i dont want 10 brands of chargers etc. I got 25 Dewalt batteries and 3 super chargers so I'm never down and almost all cordless. I imagine others are like me fine red or black and yellow cost more but last have power ill pay a little more to stay with my platform rather then throw several chargers and buy into a few batteries for 1 or 2 oddball tools.
