I would like to emphasize a few things: 1: He never got hit 2: Nobody seemed to notice him 3: He somehow didn't get CAS'd While the PTW/1 death leaving players are to blame at large (probably for 60-70%) the rampant CAS and bad hull armor make the Abrams less viable in urban maps, Yes wallet warriors are sh*t but we must also note the tanks shortcomings

Honestly that game is just luck. You had everything lineup; good position, clueless enemies, no revenge cas, no gaijin monents, good team that held the flanks. Ive had those games, and it requires virtually no effort. 19 kills is very cool, but the tank doesnt really shine when you're just handed a game like this.

I think it's pretty telling that almost every time I see a semi-competent Abrams team in matches, the enemy gets their shit kicked in. Turret armor is still pretty good, UFP bounces allot of shots even if LFP doesn't eat anything, great hull handling and speed, and a diabolical reload exceeded only by Leclerc and Type-90/10. Play this tank to its strengths and it's almost as terrifying as a Leopard 2A7. Sometimes, I'd even take it over a 2A7 for the reload. Stronger than allot of players would like to believe

Definitely my favourite Abrams of all: the laser jammer can help you,the dozer blade can be used to pre-spall some shots (and it saved me multiple times) and the DU inserts in the turret definitely makes a difference compared to the M1A1. Plus,if you have a 11.3 lineup,you can face the 10.3 premium spam more often

The Abrams is just fine in my experience. Yeah the weakspot is kinda large and it's not the best in armor, but it is quick, great ammo, quick reload and armor that can save you sometimes. Never had trouble playing it myself, but facing against it a lot of Abrams drivers just fly into battle or fight with it wrong. I don't know why, it feels pretty obvious to me how to play it (exploitation tank that can brawl in some circumstances) but I guess that doesn't come across to most people. I do still love it though, great tank

I feel like its also the lack of spall liner. Other tanks like t90 and leo 2s have spall liner giving them slightly more survivbility

I definitely think its the fact that the player base of America at top tier is mainly people picking up or trying the game that buy a premium, ik several of these people and they all started with America but then decided to grind a different tree

fr, i always see the US mains complaining about the abrams but they are just bad. as an Israel top tier and sweden high tier user i myself have used the abrams and it's pretty much easy to use.

abrams is a great tank probably in top 3 in my opinion. great mobility, very versatile, somewhat decent survivability, 2nd best round in the game with 5 seconds of reload on the best gun handling.

people who sh*t in-game Abram because of 1991 reputation but worse than Tiger 1 because Tiger H1/E at least has invincible armor and can front assault if positioned correctly but Abram? day by day Gaijin turns Abram closer to the light tank than the actual MBT and light tank playstyle is hell bloody f king hard to play in the first place (even worse with minor nation I know)

Honestly as a player that has over 8k hours in this game and was playing WT when there were only airplanes in it, I can tell you objectively that Abrams is a decent tank, not bad but not great either. The biggest downsides of the tank are that it has the loudest engine in the game meaning everyone will hear you coming, that turbine you can hear miles away, the classic nato hump, meaning you cant fire or protect your rear or 6 oclock. It has a big frontal weakspot and with the addition of all that nonsense on the top of the turret it is extremely vulnerable to top overpressure from heat or he rounds. Doesnt have 3rd gen gunner optics but still a very good sniper or a hull down monster for long range engagements. You can still excel in it if you know how to play it . But in all aspects Abrams does not even come close to the Leopard , STRVS,T80 or the black prince.

Oh, how I wish that every US teammate was like you checking around. I literally stopped grinding 9.0 US just because everytime i mark an enemy flanking, shoot at it. Scream about it on the chat NO ONE LOOKS OR REALIZES THE DANGER. i had a match that I've pinned down a df105 on a corner. 5... 5 guys drove passed by and got killed with me marking it with mg and map. (US only vs Ger,Rus) Also at the same match i had to go back from the cap to our spawn because 6 guys on the spawn somehow got pinned down by an is3. They even had 2 m60. How tf they can't kill an is3 right in front of the spawn?

Yea always its not the vehicle its the player BUT if u wanna compare 100+ day on mbt (no offense) to avg player thats where tanks start to matter. Today and yesterday i played like for 2-3 hours just to get ~2 wins (12 matches lost in a row) thats bs. Where most pep wanna come home from a job/whatever just to have so "fun" being spawncamped 80% of these matches in first 6 minutes by mostly russia germany and sweden team. Thats just dumb that most winrate and spall liner bs countries are playing together. Not to mention radicilous russian cas. If there are 1 quitters( from my observation) its slighty very slighty more common is US teams mostly 2-3 deaths and quit. Why? Because after u die twice without doing anything u just cant spawn anymore. 1 death from ka50 then 1 death by tank that just ate a side with spall liner. On the enemy team half of team has 0 deaths (big BRUH). And yea i m US top tier main and i have aloooot more bs about top tier that i just dont wanna make it wall of text

Well objectively it does worse than any other nation last few times I checked - so cherry picking a game, from someone who drops nukes constantly and is in the .01% of players, doesn't prove it isn't a poor implementation of the Abrams line in the game of War Thunder. Some combination of poor modeling, poor BR placement, being behind other nations year-to-year on what is in game per BR, etc contribute to mediocre win rate and KDA at top tier, ON AVERAGE, for the USA. The fact that Chinese and Russian tanks are as competitive as they are and USA's are doing so poorly (by objective statistics) is enough to show something is wrong. Russian and Chinese tanks are not superior outside of nationalist chest-beating from their army marketing videos.

When you’re at a very good hiding spot and an advantageous ground, any tank should be able to achieve flanking or surprise attacks on its opponents. In other words, when playing at a position such as this, the result shown in the video is the least that the tank should offer. The real underpowered part is when both tanks fight head on, this is when armor and weaponry differences are displayed the most obviously, and is also the easiest way for an opposing force to gain advantage over its adversary, since if you can defeat the enemies by simply overmatching them capability wise, then there’s no need to think about maneuvers that are difficult to achieve or are easy to counter, such as timing and flanking. It’s time to stop pretending that the Abrams, or any vehicle is alright by putting it in the hands of an above average player. Because the player is not the point, the vehicle is. Videos such as this one displays nothing about the vehicle but to show off the player’s montage. When a vehicle is truly underpowered or underdelivered is when the vehicle is pitted against its adversary vehicle while both vehicles are piloted by players of average skill, and if the target vehicle is defeated easily and that the opposing vehicle has an significantly easier time to achieve optimal results, this is when a vehicle is underpowered or under delivered.
