. It is a very vunerable process so PTL insurance worked with you. I know I'm late to this but I can relate I had my computer, xbox, and more stolen several years ago but the police were able to track the stuff down 🙌.There is a feeling of violation when you have things stolen that is just incomparable so having some help is such a blessing.
Glad to see other videographers rocking the Air. I got an M1 Air with 16gbs of ram and resolve works great on it, at least until you throw fusion effects and transitions on the footage. But luckily you can disable those things on the edit timeline to speed up the edit.
Your channel is a blessing to every1. Especially Fujiusers, like us, that want this system work for H265 Run&Gun/ProResHQ and commercial RAW set ups. Was struggling to get into details a dedicated x-h2s setup but your work just helps in every regard! THANK YOU, instand Sub. NO way around it. One love.
The DaVinci iPad issue with external drives is very annoying and common. It’s specific to their app too - it doesn’t happen for people in LumaFusion or Final Cut. Some think DaVinci is causing the drive to draw too much power, with iPadOS will then detach. I hope they fix it someday - it’s my main problem with Resolve on iPad too.
I’m pretty happy with my iPad Air and MBP M1 Max combo. Lighter stuff or drawing on the iPad is handy but the hard work is done on the laptop. I don’t have a desktop at all so the MacBook has to do all the heavy lifting.
Well 14 inch base model has 512 and 16gb base for 1999$.. I would still prefer that because when you upgrade MBA specs to that it boosts to $1700 almost. At that point you should just get the pro because you are getting more ports and better display for color grading .. also it has more gpu cores so it is a lot better choice
I have a dedicated Editing computer that I use Davinci with, but i recently won a Macbook air M2 15 with 16 gigs of ram and 512 storage, might start using it with davinci as a "on the go" video editor
thank you so much for sharing your point of view! I'm a photographer and looking forward to update my 11 years old Macbook Air. Undecided if getting an MBP M3 Pro or an MBA 15 for almost the same price. Most probably going for the MBA after seeing this. Happy to see insurance is paying back!
GOD definitely is good. You know man, sometimes stuff like that happens to build your character because you’re about to walk into a new chapter of your life that’s gonna bless you. Continue to keep your head up and doing what you do. 🙏🏾
I'm facing the same issue with Resolve missing media on my iPad Pro 12.9" (1TB, M2). I edit on the internal SSD, but unfortunately, the audio also disappears, rendering it useless. Additionally, overheating is a problem, leading to screen dimming. I've reached my limit of compromises and have decided to sell my iPad Pro for a laptop. It's undoubtedly a very cool and beautiful device, but it often becomes worthless, and in my opinion, it shouldn't be called 'Pro.' There are to many compromises with this device. Thanks for sharing this video.
just want to add, while I love the hardware / form factor of the M2 air, I ultimately sold it (Mine was maxed out RAM and GPU). My Zenbook Pro rendered my 6K projects in the same time as the M2 air with Davinci Resolve, and it's around 4 years old...still prefer windows
First time here cause I wanna learn everything about editing videos. I actually just got me the same laptop you speaking about an I was very pleased by your review an experience with it. Thanks an keep it up
@@JaymesMedia I have datacolor I use on all my monitors. However my home pc is a gaming rig with a 360 hz monitor. So it that really main reason I use the laptop at home. At work office I have the right stuff.
“God is still good and He still provides….” Best thought of the entire video… If you can get a hold of what Cine Dailes just gave us, you will be miles ahead before you hit the next turn…
I totally understand ur thought process. I’m using the ipad to edit….. i don’t want a pro macbook cause of the weight. The air is great cause its easy to carry n lighter…. Also facing similar issues with the ipad as u mentioned. I use final cut pro though.
Great video! I think the audio is a bit low, had to turn it up all the way and have my volume on my laptop over half way up. Watched on the 15 inch MacBook as well :)!!
If I knew nothing about you. Other than your character of you wanting to make things right because of your sense of responsibility, it would be enough for me to subscribe, but it just so happens that you’re awesome in every way possible especially filmmaking outside of your outstanding character so I wish I could subscribe 10 times keep doing great things
It starts to make sense as to why Apple with the ipad version of final cut. Doesn't allow you to use a external drive. Because Davinci resolve has issues with the external hard drive.
I am concidering getting the 15” M2 Air (512gb) mainly going to use it for DJ’ing & editing 4K GoPro videos. Do you think the it’s sufficient enough to do that?? I could get the 14” M3 that just came out, but it’s a couple hundred dollars more, & it’s an inch smaller. I like the bigger screen & don’t edit that much…😅
hey keep up very good content I want to get the M2 MacBook Air 13” for content creation, like video editing using fcpx and some little effects on AE (resolution no less than 1080 (40 seconds max per video) will it be good? No fan ?
Please can you help a beginner here. I am yoga teacher. I use one setup (frame), one video, 40 min or so, fade in, fade out, little colout grading (brightness mostly) and ad some music in a background an background noise reduction. I normally have 1080p videos but considering going to 2k or maybe 4k in a future. How long does the export on this video lasts? This is important because I have yoga centar in Croatia and on top of my 20+ videos a month of editing, I have 30 more from my yoga teachers. So I need to have quick export. My edit lasts for about 10 min TOPS because I don't have much to do and it's all simple and automatic, but I have a lot of videos to process. Thank you very much for your help because, as you said, 300 euros are a big deal to me and I can not find export speed anywhere. I want Macbook Air, but I am not sure 16gb, 512 ssd M2 15'' will be fast enough. I edit in CapCut. Here is an example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3vcofTIOQ0E.html
Dude I’m so close to buying one myself! I’m just starting off doing freelance work/side hustle projects for small businesses. I have an M1 iMac, but I am more likely to work on things on the go away from my work from home setup. Would you recommend upgrading the memory to 16 GB memory and having 256 storage (working with an external ssd to export photos and video projects? Or do what you did - 8 GB memory and 512 storage? I’m trying to make the entire purchase under $1,600 before tax lol. To be honest I don’t get what either of those specs do to enhance the performance but I’m willing to upgrade one of the two for performance
Does it have to be the 15" Air? I've seen some M2 13" Airs with 16gb RAM and 1tb SSD for under $1600 on the Apple Certified Refurbished section. M1 Air for $1399 also.
@@jacobabaltierra I get it. Yeah, that extra space is really good. My M1 Air has 8gb RAM and 512gb SSD. I have done some freelance video and photo work once in a while and it has handled it with no issues. But if you're going to be doing video and photo work constantly, I'd go for the 14" Macbook Pro.
@@chromaticvisuelle he mentioned that God is still good through everything that had transpired. I took that literally & seriously. I wanted to encourage him, agree with him, and remind him that his channel has multiple layers of value.
Oh men sorry for your fuji and the lenses...I aleays stress about it...for my self I use Ipad m2 withh resolve studio for shorts and facebook...and I work with the hack to unlock every page...It crashing way to often for my taste as well and I got the same issues I run my I pad connected to 3-4 USB 3.2 drives and even do multicam on it...concerts live event and interview worksnfine as a portable solution but air would have been probably better...
I really don’t understand why people are afraid to spec out the 15 inch MacBook Air and it doesn’t go into pro territory because it’s not a pro S laptop from Apple’s point of view it’s more than capable but there’s no reason why you can’t put 24 gigs of ram and 2 TB of storage and get your goddamn work done instead of saying it’s what it is. This is the same with all reviewers.
Glad you’re having a better experience than my M1 mini. 8GB brought it to its knees for anything outside office work. What made you choose a 15” over the pro?
@@CineDailies a large screen is underrated, I have a 27” and can’t live without it! I’d like to know in a later video if you miss the “pro” features like SD card and a fan
Theft is the lowest. Taking something that does not belong to you.... I'd be super flying TNT. My feeling is the majority of folks buying this laptop will not be for content creation. Those that do will be flying TNT when Apple release that 15" MBP with the M3 whathuvyou.
8gb/256gb based in 2023 ffs Apple, with of course, overpriced upgrade options. Not a third usb c on the right side. No face ID. No wifi 6e. Slow 256gb ssd. So annoyed with Apple but everybody will buy it anyway.
The Macbook Air doesn’t have resilience for extensive workloads. Limited CPU and GPU cores and compromised by having no adequate cooling for the CPU, its target market is authors, school students, lawyers, parliamentarian aides, astrophotographers, live stage musicians who use computers as sound modules and controlling mixing desks like the Midas M32C or X32 rack etc. Anything beyond that target market, is better purchasing a Macbook Pro 14 inch for any significant production work.
