i know right? this is exactly what i first thought after watching this... my 04 M3 is stock still sadly, sounds nothing like this.. i'm about 2 weeks away from conducting a full VANOS rebuild (including rebuilding the splined shafts of the rattle issue), then AFE or K&N intake kit and megan racing catback, resonator deletes, free-flow cats to open up that S54 !!
Progression is a scary thing......people are driving around in stock 335d/435d that will easily role with the e46 m5. This engine sounds sensational however.
+DanK.98 Geez calm down man. I own an e46 M3 and I can tell you that the 335d's are very fast cars. It would by no means be an easy win, and I had better be in the right gear at the right time!
the speed of this car car isn't the reason that its the legend lol. people are getting steering feel, cornering sensation, throttle response and normally aspirated engine noise CONFUSED with 0-60 times and receipts from a tuning garage. everyone should enjoy the 335i or 435d they have but not try and say that its a better car than this one. your car has been made to meet emissions laws and safety tests. the steering in your cars is number. the pure driving sensation is something newer BMW drivers will never know unfortunately.
Drive something like a Honda S2000 and see what pure driving sensation means, if you want to get feel from the car. BMWs, incl. the E46 M3, feel remote from the driver in comparison.

Arlind530d. Com 16s 0-200kmh not fast for you? heard of HPF m3? yeah they pull 600hp out of these engines easily, it's not fair to compare a modified 335i vs e46 m3.. It's something else..
podría ser que el m3 pierda contra un 335, pero estamos hablando de un coche con minimo 6 años mas, atmosférico y a una altitud de unos 500 metros sobre el nivel del mar, para mi que se compare a un m3 contra un 335 es un orgullo, porque ahí se ve a la altura a la que esta el m3.

Com a stock 335? the m3 is much faster a remapped one is a different story. a small supercharger will see the m3 past any 335,even a modded one. 680 whp easy on the e46, with a turbo this engine sees 1098 whp, the one i saw on the dyno did anyway :) i don't even know what you're on about
also ein 330er mit Kompressor (0,4 bar) ist hand geschaltet wesentlich schneller.. in der selben zeit bin ich bei 300km/h.. entweder ist deiner kaputt oder meiner hat 400Ps was ich nicht glaube weil er mit 310PS und 360Nm angegeben ist, zu dem hab ich 80°C ansaugtemp.
@@kampfspetzle wenn man nach der messung runterbremmst wird halt ne höhere leistung errechnet... ich hoff mal für dich das es nicht stimmt, dein Getriebe ist dafür nicht ausgelegt und deine Karosse ist dafür nicht zugelassen. Selbst mit dem 30ger darf man nur max 325ps auserdem über 85% mehr leistung ist bestimmt gesund für dein motor...
@@FlyTOsky1 das 6 Gang macht des locker mit und mit der 330 mm Scheiben und der vmax bremsanlage kein Problem die Karosserie kann und darf mehr keine Anhung welcher TÜVI dich da veraschen will

5.1 seconds to 60, around 180 mph unlimited so faster that a 335. 335's always seem to sound artificial with its twin turbos. Also not as sexy with its ungainly fat ass. E46 M3 is the classic M car that everyone knows with the kudos to match, hence why prices are going up unlike the 335. Beautiful straight six engine sound can't be beat really despite its age. As BMW say themselves ' M - the most powerful letter in the world'
do you have an intake installed? your S54 sounds so much more raw... mine is still stock, nearly have all the parts to fully rebuild VANOS, then finally the CAI, and to replace the god-awful stock exhaust!
