Excellent. I have an old Q45 and I love it but have taken damn near everything apart looking for an 'easy' way to input AUX. This is the only way to roll
I bought a Bluetooth cassette tape from radioshack it works great best alternative to taking dashboard out.I have the 2003 m45 I wouldn't mind doing the retro fit with touch screen you did though...
I have an aftermarket sub added. When I tried this,my sub would not play and sounded a bit distorted. I will say I did not unplug the 3 wire clip. Would that matter?
Hey there... Trying to do what you did with my M45 aswell... I have watched your video a few times but not sure about one thing... What wires did you solder onto the board.. The Samsung aux cord or a USB cord... Any videos of you putting it together.. Thanks.. Very much appreciate any help you can share..
Can I move my in dash stereo to my truck and install another stereo in its place and use my SAT button to turn on my new stereo while still having my existing stereo in my truck or glove compartment.
You can also empty the tape from the reels put it back together with reels still inside . The player is tricked to think it’s playing and it’ll never flip to the other side . Continuous play
I've done the NAV-TV piece on the navigation models. But if you don't have nav my understanding is that the monitor won't activate the rgb input section.
No, but the photo is way back on my Instagram @siralsmooth . The 3 pins are left/right/shield(ground) and you need to pull the connector that feeds the tape caddy as well.
Isn’t there a tape that u can place in the player that has a wire coming out to serve as an input that will connect to a cell via the ear phone jack?! I think I’ve seen those before.
Per your reference to a prior video that shows how to actually perform the method of which you show the physical result of in this video, I've spent hours scouring Google, YT, your IG - all to no avail. What am i missing? I want to achieve what you display in this video, but HOW?
Just watched this video again myself to try and understand what you are referring to and even I'm lost. Maybe the forum reference that I mentioned that I couldn't even find again? The instructions are literally in the video, pause it when the circuit board is in clear view, and solder the wires to the shown location. Then unplug the connector opposite of where you soldered to. This isn't a step by step video, I'm assuming no liabilities and assuming you have basic skills and tools to do this, if not, seek professional help to do it. If referring to the micro usb audio adapter, that hasn't worked since the Galaxy S4, you're not gonna find them anymore. And if you're referring to the write up and the mini PC setup, doesn't exist because that setup wasn't reliable, very problematic. Would recommend watching recent relevant videos to see the current setup if curious because stuff that's 5 plus years old isn't relevant by today's technology standards.
@@siralsmooth Thanks for the quick reply, Alyn. I may have mixed up your reference to the non-existent forum post with the multiple references to your IG account including the last comment 'screengrab on IG ..as well as a little info about this' - which, after hunting, produced nothing relevant. However - since my initial comment, I've figured it out on my own and couldn't be more proud! This is the first time I've ever ripped apart anything in a car. You're a hero for presenting the end solution as a possible way to ad AUX to the car stereo. I have to ask, though - if the only part of this video worth anything is in a single frame, why not just post a still image with a caption? I successfully hooked up an AUX cord and connected a Bluetooth receiver to it. LOVING IT! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the inspiration! A couple questions: a. There is a quiet static sound now when no audio is being played through the AUX. Any ideas? b. My Bluetooth receiver dongle requires power. If I plug it into the center console's 12-volt power port (the one under the driver's right elbow) overnight while the car is not running, does this take power from the battery such that I risk not being able to start the car? To help others in distress - I'm writing up a procedure document with step-by-step instructions. Stay tuned - I will link here if okay with you.
@@PeterOrrick cigarette lighter/power port is switched, you should be fine. The hiss, did you disconnect the 3 pin going to the tape head? I have hiss only when the volume is up and there isn't any audio playing, otherwise it's acceptable.
@@siralsmoothYour responses are like lightning - fast and bright - thx! Just to confirm - we're talking about the power port at right elbow - not the one directly under the tape deck? (maybe they have the same properties of mention, but just making sure) I pulled the 3-pin connector on the opposite side of where I soldered the 3 wires, yes. I have the static even when the stereo is off. The sound is acceptable, definitely, but wanted to inquire in case it's indicative of something I should be concerned about.
@@PeterOrrick yep, that's the one. Depending on where and which adapter you have, could be the adapter. If you power it from a separate 12v power source and there still is noise it's the adapter. I have a generic Bluetooth handsfree adapter that also does Apt x hd streaming and it is silent unless the volume is up between songs.
+Brian Heiden the JL Audio MBTRX, or something like that, is a quality part. EBay has Bunch of offerings as well, for about 8~12 bucks, but I've never tried them. The JL one I have on my jambox cooler and it works great.
Guessing you haven't dove into the complex system that this car has yet? Plus what you're saying doesn't really make any sense, unless you're describing it wrong.
Can you send me the info needed to add Bluetooth using this method to my 2003 Q45, please? My email address is kieranjackson(at)kw.com Thanks in advance!
does anyone know how to make my gps work....or my cd changer...my navigation system never work nd my cd changer jjsy reads my cds like for a minute nd 30 seconds
