I'm always very grateful that the internet allows us to experience the cultures of distant peoples like the Maasai, creating a permanent record of their way of life.
I remember my best days in primary school.....this was my favorite activity. Our school went to National level in this music, I was a soloist and at the same time I was the one introducing my school..... I am proud of my culture ❤️❤️❤️💯
There is something to be said about listening, as well as feeling, the rhythm of MotherAfrica. Its as if there is a reminding...a tapping into that we✊🏾 are unable / I Am unable to put into plain english/american words. Its a true reminder, that we are not Spiritually so far removed. A call of return.
The way they harmonize their voices, speaks to my soul. Wish I knew what tribe I came from all I know is America. Well, I know I'm not Maasai cause my height ain't adding up lol beautiful people 💓
you are already are with your tribe. your kings were taken with you there. America is your country just as much as anyone. claim it. we are all under one sky. your tribe are the people you live with and call home.
@@puritybenson5008 did Shaka not take other tribe and force them all under his control and kingdom or in western africa kingdoms forming and leaving their tribalism to grow stronger. Tribes are not forever things evolve. they have each other now they do not need us. they are stronger if they work together by themselves.
I always felt a strong connection to South Africa where the Bantu peoples come from. After doing a little digging I found out that my grandmother 8 generations back came from Mozambique which is in South Africa.
most of yall AA are basically west and south west africans. they are maasai of east africa.. chance of you being maasai, unless by marriage is almost nil
Music is the universal spoken language, these voices evokes spiritual, great voice from the land of Tom Mboya 🙏. Salute you from Azania(south africa)🇿🇦
This reminds me of when we used to perform in the Kenya schools' music festivals. Performing a Maasai dance/song always had a really strong emotional effect. It is unexplainable.
@@JohnJohnson-kb7dx Wow. I am a song leader in the US and I also lead circle dances with singing. Seeing and hearing this blows my mind. It must be truly amazing to join in.
Ummmm..... That's pretty much every tribe all around the world..... There are a lot of similarities in indigenous life all across the world... No matter what tribe I am from nomadic tribe... Luv tribal life
Proudly Maasai! I miss this folk music! Proud of our beautiful culture. We the Maasai people are among the few communities who do their songs without any instruments back up
this gets you in some kind of mood ..hypnotic! reminded me of the 'tree root dancers' in Avatar movie....so beautiful we are the roots and the most ancient.. AFRICA..much love from Ethiopia
This is beautiful on so many levels. Not only the cultural but it evokes a spiritual feeling that music is apt to do. Is there anyone that can translate this to English? I've listened countless times because it feels like it's calling to me... So I'd love to know what they are singing. Thank you for anyone that can help.
How could they take even 2% of this away from us it’s been centuries and I still feel a connection that I can’t even remember having a relationship with
These are the original Egyptians. When those that decry the lost history in Egyptian busts of old start reading ancient books, they will realize that these people's history is only told in War. The Art of War, the Prince...hell all civilizations bow down to these people. Just listen to Selassie who governed an ancient kingdom barely a thousand miles from them. He cried War to the end.
@@rainbowpandasays8851 these are villagers so this is their traditional clothing that they wear everyday. This is a traditional song and ceremonial dance. They didn’t have to rehearse or practice for this. It’s a part of their culture from birth. They may have chosen their position and places in line, but not the song or ceremonial performance itself. They are singing about cows, which Masai’s believe Enkai gave them all the cows of the world to possess.
@@tiyahisrael I am illustrating a children's book on Tanzania. I wanted to ask if I should include this kind of dance or the Adumu dance in the book. I want to showcase both the men and women so I was leaning more towards this dance. what do you think?
Wow the sound and the moves both complement each other very well. One thing special about African dance and songs you have to feel them and have some deeper connection to do those beautiful moves. The rhythm and every thing you have to feel it in my culture we call that ihlombe. Love the maasai people their beautiful calture.
We are the sons and daughters of the earth, we are the heartbeat of mother nature. The rhythm of all earth elements flows in our veins. They may kill us, they may enslave us but we are the foundation of them of all, black power is Devine. Africa my Africa, never lose your purpose, never lose your roots for western purposes, they have no culture But we have diverse culture, we are unique in every aspect.
