@@GunsandGearNetwork hell yea, enjoy. Completely changes the gun. I have about 800 rounds thru it since the spring change and sere adjustment. Ran flawlessly, got the trigger pull down to a consistent 3.5
Somebody, sorry I don't remember, has prodigy mags for 34...and they work. That's the 17 round, the 20s are sold out everywhere I've looked except SA who want 60...boo!
I bought the MAC 9 DS as a project. It cost $900, plus $500 in parts, and it runs perfectly; I have shot more than 1500 rounds without a problem; it is a firearm to buy and make modifications, and you will end with a good Turkatto These are the parts I used MJD Villain Grip (it will require fitting for the trigger) MJD Magwell MJD Mag Catch ISMI 17 lbs Main Spring Wolf 10 lbs Commander Recoil Spring Colt Sear Spring Infinity Trigger
@@shawnj8051 I haven't shot it yet with them but I have 6 of them and they lock open, click right in and drop right out. They have 26 round mags that don't stick out that far either!
I agree and now that I have done some minor polishing and changing a few springs it is very smooth. I think it is one of the best values going for a budget 2011.
I do not understand why everyone is up in arms about a 4.5 to 5.0 lb trigger pull on a 1911 style pistol? If you consider what the weight is on your average striker polymer pistol is 5.0 lb or slightly less with far more initial takeup, there really isn’t room to gripe. It costs far more to lighten up a striker and even more to get rid of pre and over travel. If you plan to carry your 2011 for defense a sub 4lb trigger is not really advisable for safety reasons; especially when the trigger has that short of a takeup to begin with. Now if all you intend to do is use the pistol as a range toy or amateur competition pistol, I can see a 3lb trigger being acceptable but I wouldn't carry it defensively as such. Just saying.
RU-vid sheep’s and tactafools will learn one day after shooting they selves or a loved ones always tankering wit a guns internal…I don’t get it sombody is always crying about a trigger and won’t b happy if it ain’t .5 pound smh
Just a little comment. After having slight difficulty removing the cover plate for the optic,I was at the range today and started shooting and the cover plate popped off.. Evidently the screws backed out and the plate came right off. Don’t know if the screws came out earlier or what . No big deal. No I can put the optics plate on.
I am waiting on my live free armory apollo 11 compact it is american made commander size with bull barrel and you get your choice of 3 colors msrp is 979.00
The prodigy is like 1250 not 15-1600. And the apollo has a bull barrel and its in the same price range. I like the mac but with a few new parts in the prodigy its a fantastic gun and better looking.
You are correct the Prodigy can be found for those prices. I guess "better looking" is in the eye of the beholder. I personally like the looks of this one over the Prodigy. The Apollo is not a bad option but it has been reported to have some issues and I am not a fan of the 3D printed grip module. In the end I think all of them have their good and bad. Any of the three would not be a wrong choice.
Just picked mine up at my ffl. Was changing out the magwell and pulled out the main housing to change spring and my sear spring came out. Got the seat back in , I think. Now my trigger will not lock back. Any suggestions? Looked for a good video for problem solving. Unable to find one about this problem.
Not a bad looking option but I have heard they have had some issues. People have complained about not running hollow points, right side safety breaking off and a few other things. MIM parts? The grip module is 3D printed which I wouldn't be a fan of and only comes with one mag. It is made in the USA which is nice.
Anyone else having problems with the provided screws for the optic plate. Seems as the 2 sets of short screws don’t tighten down and the long set won’t screw in far enough. Any suggestions??
Hello manI am looking to change out the recoil spring in my MAC 9. what recoil spring kit do you recommend I can't seem to locate any for this pistol.😎
