Mac DeMarco moved from his isolated home in Queens to Los Angeles with a grip of demos in hand. The change of pace, as he took a break from nonstop touring and recording to adapt to his new home, allowed him to take a more personal approach. We hear the results as he joins us live in studio to share new songs.

I'm about beginner level pianist but in the few months I've practiced I realize how much work and time it takes to not only play but in tune but make it sound good rhythmically. I'm learning how to play Blue in Green just started a few days ago and can already play all 10 bars almost in tune w a one note bass line. Something like that for a beginner usually takes more like a few weeks. Anyway my point is it takes at leas t a few years to play this good. I'm not talking playing the notes but also his timing is superior. He ain't no Bill Evans sure but he's on a level I wish to god I can get to in the next couple years.

Wow. With 3 guitar chords, the pianist turned this fairly normal guitar-song, and turned it into something really breathtaking. Well done, and Mac just adapted to it so perfectly.

Oh my god ! I love the studio version of this so much. "My Old Man" i can't tell you how much this song travelled with me on many adventures & occasions. This is my favorite version of this song, The version i discoverd first. Mac Demarco deserves to be alot more famous than he is, You know in the bizz they dont care for any religious reffernce from any body with a following. The band is so much tighter with Jon playing bass and a dedicated keys player. It's always bothered me that Mac's bass players have never played with their fingers, finally, he's got one that does.
