Mac is a modern musical genius in that he fronted a genre that was revived from 80s pop music even though it isn't contemporarily popular. I feel like his modern stuff, though good, is lacking the youthful 'gusto' that his first 3 albums had. Rock'nroll nightclub, 2, and Salad days are certainly his best
