Still can't get over this. I wasn't real into Mac before he passed and after all that happened I've been nonstop on his music. You can really tell he was saying goodbye with this album. Sort of like we never noticed till it actually happened.

I didn’t listen to his music until he was dead unfortunately but he died the day before my birthday and my sister found out on my birthday and she was sad to hear the news.

He had 1 month to say bye

Got the phone call my grandfather passed away that morning we all heard the news Mac passed. September 7th was a rough date, man.

Well he did a lot of drugs. His pain is of his own hand.

All my friends are off to college for year 2 and I decided to stay home again. I regret everything. Been listening to this song all night long and for some random reason I decided to watch the music video(which i never do). I was meant to find this. I can always change. Wtfplsstfu He was just a truly genuine and kind human being and there aren’t a great many of those people in a lot of our lives. He had no ego or arrogance, he didn’t think he was better than anyone, he just wanted to see the sun rise tomorrow and smile. A serene human being who made the world a better place by being here, that can’t be said for most people. The devil works in the business of addiction and Mac didn’t have what he needed to win the fight, that’s really what this album is about. When you get tired of “swimming” you drown. Mac was tired of what he was going through and couldn’t keep swimming through it, so he drowned. He was looking for a way out of the water to “get back to earth” and just couldn’t do it. If you look at some of his interviews and read into what his life has been like for the better part of the time he’s been famous it’s clear he had been in trouble for awhile and this was almost inevitable. What Kendrick said was interesting, Mac never wanted the world to feel the way he did with him so he put a smile on his face and did the best he could everyday. He needed someone, he needed many people to help him get out of the water and back to Earth but it never came. This affected me a great deal as well, I shed tears listening to this album after he died and it genuinely hurt me like it was someone I knew. When X died it was shocking, but the there was no middle ground with him and he was either gonna end up in the grave or behind bars with how cowboy his mind was. Mac’s soul was pure and simple, I can’t think of how this feels for people who actually knew him. It’s just... it’s tough.

Thankfully we're getting his 2020 album, the companion to Swimming/ the completion of Swimming in Circles.. He can continue resting in peace knowing how much he meant to us :)

My brother had an accidental fentanyl overdose just like Mac. My brother was addicted to cocaine and he didn’t know it was laced and got killed cuz of it. I miss him so much. Mac reminds me of him.
