I don't think a lot of people realize how much rap knowledge he actually had. He was spitting insane freestyles at 15/16 years old so as he got older free styling just seemed effortless. yea some of this looks prewritten, but some parts he just going off the top and those are the best lines he spits.
I swear that shxt was utterly masterful. Most dope doesn’t even begin to describe the electricity you see in Macs eyes when he saved the verses. Mac was a scribe. Pen in-hand or not, he always kept it smooth, yet somehow also hot. Unique talent. Mac Rests In Peace, tragically, but his music remains salient. Gone too soon, far too soon
Functional when delusional. Mac never comin back, dude was wack and he knew it. Rippin beats to shreads, rippin blow til he dead. My inspiration followed his intuition
The concept of freestyling is not to make it up in its entirety word for word. The skill of writing or rapping requires a constant focus on vocabulary building skills and literary techniques to come up with ever increasing ways to reproduce things in a new or personalized manner. As a rapper in particular you develop syllabic ideas that resonate phonetically and over time or as you continue to do it there becomes a large database of syllables that ebb and flow well with each other and become part of your repertoire, sometimes flipping your own previously written or verbalized ideas. In order to freestyle, that is jump on the beat (without specifically having previously played with and mapped out all of the words you'll use and in what way, or songwriting as it's known) and flow them you absolutely have to possess the skills already meaning that you know how to play around with many different types of associations that occur to you then on the spot but only because you've played around with it or similar things before. To have favorite rhyme pairings or self referential statements that are peppered in or even perhaps lines that are a signature of sorts stylistically is a large part of freestyling. It is more difficult than taking time to edit and iron things out but it is impossible to be a rapper and grab a mike completely devoid of any kind of previously thought of bars otherwise how can you really consider yourself a rapper. Freestyling is taking the ability and skills you have developed and being able to present it free form and even to add circumstantial information that is also happening as you rap. Yes a lot of interviews presented as freestyles are anything but and not many rappers even attempt to do it without 80 percent preconceived and should just admit it because that still takes skill but mac happens to be so skilled and in love with the music he can truly free himself in the moment and flow however you seem to, like many fans of the genre less so with other rappers, have a misunderstanding of what it means to freestyle. That's all
or playin tennis wit cinder blocks takes a n actual intellect he said you are a loser who think he's a superstar when you just a person in a supercar something stupid crazy like that to actually come up with and use
it doesnt even feel like hes gone he seems so real like you could just run into him on the street still.. love how u can truly tell that none of this is written he clearly goes through the entire dictionary in his head between every line
He’s very real. He’s like that one cool dude in high school who didn’t really roll with a lot of people but was all focused on making the best for himself and hoping the best for others. Just Positive all around. R.I.P Mac, you sure left your mark on this world. 👊
Annnnnd this is why I was so excited for him to finally getting the wider recognition he started to get not too long before he left us. Malcolm had MASSIVE talent and was constantly improving until the very end when he was on the brink of superstardom. I’ll forever miss him.
When u also account how young he was, it really shows how tragic his ending was. Think about it, he had a whole career ahead of him, would’ve loved to see that.
I was looking forward to watching macs progression throughout life...macadellic is when I became a fan and loved his growth from than on...we lost a true artist
im the same age been a fan since kids and i grew up with him in a way. first celebrity i actually cried about when i found out he passed. i never went to a show and now i cant. he inspired me so much and i love the work he put out. the amount of music he put out and the quality is such a short time on earth is ridiculous. hes a legend if anyone says hes not they dont know music. guy played many instruments. produced made beats of his own. actually went into these shows and freestyled sometimes having fun. what a funny and extremelt talented artist we lost. im clean but i was bad on percocets and i know how hard that shit is to kick. being rich i probably wouldnt be alive. thank god im sober now. i wish my man mac had another chance it sucks. i know hes with other legends spittin in the afterlife
Keep Your Head Up Truly That’s What He Would Wanted Follow Your Path Find Your Gift 🎁 Dreams!!!! His Music Meant Something Saying Long Lasting Lifetime Of Achievement Nevertheless Forgotten ☝️ 🙏🏽1💜
@@derekbakowski2846 I feel that. It’s impossible to hate this guy even if u tried. But he lives on through his music. He speaks to all of us through that. He’s still here in a way, just not physically. He left his mark, and left this world doing so.
Idk why im writing this because its annoying as fuck when people are party poopers. But its a way to mark beat time in music and Theyre all in the industry so its just means they all know how to keep time musically
Every time i hear his freestyles it just saddens me that we lost one of most naturally gifted musical savants soo early in his career... u can see when he gets deep into the zone, the synapses in his brain just firing non stop, matching rhymes and cutting up words while telling hilarious stories..
Also, that Westwood one was directly from brain to the mic strait off the top. . . And it was still better than what some mainstream kids nowadays are writing. Wonderful, Malcolm
His unreleased leaked stuff reminds me of his KIDS era..straigh backpack rap with gritty punchy kick snare instrumentals. Remember hearing him on soundcloud back in 2014..legend in the making
Loss of a young life is always sad, but every time we lose someone of this caliber, with his humility and endless potential...it’s the word just beyond tragic 😒 I hope he’s restin easy ✌🏼
OH MY... first freestyle vid of MAC I randomly click on is the most dope freestyles iv ever heard hands down. You got the vibe everywhere Man thanks for being here. Your a legend Floating at the top. Your music is inspiring and so relatable sometimes it blows my mind. Like damn I actually had to make a RU-vid comment for once. Straight the fuck up! #SPEECHLESS
WTF!!!! absolutely fucking sick! Why?? All the legendary rappers, gone.... Mac Miller, Pun, Big L, Pac, Biggie, Prodigy, Nipsey, and the list goes on...gone way too soon. Thank God these moments are on record, keep hip hop alive ... MAD LOVE TO MAC....TOP 10
They aren’t dead if you think about it. While they are not physically on this earth, they will forever live and be known through their music. And I find that beautiful.
Always loved the shit outta mac never listened to his freestyles too much but now I just keep them on repeat like his songs smh fucking miss the legend 🙌 💯 😪 💔 keep ya head up tho guys for all them bangers he brought us still underrated 💯
Boss Hogg N8D & Stephen sending positive energy infinitly ! Energy can never be destroyed , only converted ! Spirit can never die! All the best ... , high frequency with love !
16:25 BBC Radio (2012) Is this gone off youtube? Found a clip on the bbc website but havent been able to find it otherwise :) godlike bars. the way he starts spitting so good halfway through gives him such a genuine smile. the same smile from when he was a kid in those home-video clips of him. truly sad what he had been through. RIP. thanks for the upload
In all honesty, mac totally passed me by, love hip hop, but many other genres. Saw his tiny desk set and was so blown away. But still havent fou d the time to really check him out. This compilation has shown me his genius so succinctly. Such a shame a young dude that mastered the art so well left us so soon. Mad thing is, he must've been high in at least one of these freestyles, and he killed it. Rip
the bandana Santana tied ... omg that's one of the most fire lines I've ever heard that whole verse was fuckin straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 eyes closed drinking whiskey let the car drive... 🔥 autographer . standing on Saturn with a rocket blaster
A true legend taken from us way too early just like juice wrld it's like god's taking all our best rappers away as soon as they get big 😞 truly talented kid
Fuggin legend...makes this shit look so long. So effortless it looks prewritten, but guaranty that 75% was straight off the top. RIP to one of the greatest. Freestyle that starts at 16:25 is the best. Flow is insane, every line is a bar..straight 🔥
i love how you can hear he's literally freestyling in real time, this shits not prewritten. he hears the tribe beat and says "tribe called quest im just tryna be fresh" like this mind is incredible
