@@SteezyTeej ummmm....well never thought of it like that. As it seemed even when he was 18yrs he had lived through so much already, ie; his writing, his living, been places. Ummm...spiritual plane.😔 still missed. May he, Mac, be happy now.
we were robbed of this mans musical peak. swimming and circles were so great and showed a level of self reflection and emotional maturity that you dont often see in music anymore
Quedo Rants he was in a much better place then before. If you listen to old mixtapes like faces and delusional Thomas compared to divine feminine and swimmimg, he was LEAGUES ahead in mental clarity and peace. The album was about him previously “drowning” in depression and sin but now “swimming” out of it. “The light was dim in this life of sin now everyday I wake up and breathe. I don’t have it all but that’s alright with me.” We’re just not getting the full story.
William Winter like you can just see it in the way he dresses compared to before, his eyes are lit up, etc. the interviewer says it at the beginning that he just looks better. Those things speak volumes.
See I thought the same thing about Swimming's concept as you before he died...now, I perceive it as he was drowning in life and his death was him "swimming" to relief. we def aren't getting the full story.
Notice how respectful he was to Ariana when he asked Mac about committing to a relationship he said “life is stressful” he didn’t bash Ariana in any way.
i quit using my smart phone and have a regular flip phone.. i was addicted to social media and now only use my phone becuase of emergency.... guys it has changed my life..... my conversations.. the ways i view people... it really is amazing.,.. going on 6 months now ..
S his car probably has one. Buy a USB and fill it with music. And for the last one just learn to ask the people around you. Could lead to totally different conversations
S I keep a smart phone on me just for music and apps etc. just don’t have any service on it and no social media apps. And use a simple piece of shit phone just for text and calls. Haven’t logged onto Facebook since 2013. One of the best decisions I’ve made. Shit is just full of toxic garbage, why do I need to see other people complaining about their shit lives or watch them try to make their lives appear amazing. It’s literally brain cancer man
I Ride With My Dumb Phone. I Don't Want To Be Tracked. I Don't Want The President To Txt Me. I Can Find & Get Everything I Would Use A Smart Phone With Thru Different Avenues.... Change Your Life. Get Dumb. Ha! #WhoUpShottYa
I'm 28 and never had a smart phone. GPS? Find your way. Read road signs. Music? I-Pod or mp3 player/ cd. Computers still exist. They just don't need to live in your pocket. I hate smart phones. Everybody think their social life is important. But don't do anything in person to be social.
This has a familiar chill to it. Almost as if... the universe heard Mac loud an clear. "Oh, you're curious about what lies beyond earth? Another side? Here's a dose of reality then kid."
@@beflygelt i bet he'd still be here if he hadn't fucked around with fentanyl. a terrible accident. i wish he were alive and we would all get to see the post-Swimming Mac release more music.
You watch this interview and literally would NEVER imagine less that two months later this guy would be gone due to an overdose. He seems so positive, clear minded, and happy in this interview. He puts out so much good energy. I think that's what a lot of us love about Mac, his positive energy and his humor. He is using his bad experiences and turning them into positives to move forward. You hear him say his DUI was the best thing that could have happened because it finally showed him that negative actions actually do have negative consequences. I just hate so much that it had to end like that. Every album just got better and better to me and I couldn't wait to see what the future held for Mac and his music, and now we will never know.
Erin Matheny You took all words out of my mouth. This is exactly how I feel and what I think. Lost a legend, miss him everyday. I couldn’t wait to see what the future held for him and what wonderful music he would give us. Swimming is my favorite album, they just got better and better, like you said. It’s so sad - no one compares to him. There won’t be another Mac Miller (unlike a lot of hip hop / rap artists that produce very similar music). That makes me sad. Thankfully he blessed us with a lot of content, but never enough.
It's just sad it ended, the how has no bearing on me fr, everyone is gonna pass on...od, murder, aircraft crash, whatever tf...I'm just sad it ended too soon. Mac was a consummate musician on every front, every instrument. "I just got a ciello, now all I do is play it" smh losing this most underrated artist is a tragedy of our time that likely wont be truly appreciated for decades to come.
@@artform_ Totally man! When the interviewer said you look healthy i was like Uhmm, dude, he does not :( :( Everyone who had struggle with addiction (In any kind) knows whasup. Rip Idol...
It’s December 23rd and you’ve been gone for months now. I didn’t know you personally. I saw you live in 2016. You changed my life. Watching movies with the sound off saved me from myself. I spent a month in the hospital after trying to end my life. I held on to your music like a lifeline. You were so special, the light you shared with everyone. I miss you.
it seems odd because that really is something someone says when they are “over” their drug addiction and have made peace with their past. i’m really starting to think his OD was a fake pressed Xanax laced with Fentanyl. like Lil Peep.
@@harorider96 He probobly wrote alot of the tracks on swimming sober, He was completely sober a good 9 months when he got with Ariana and starting writing swiming the same time.
Quote from an interview with mac ." As soon as I learned that I could do things creatively sober, then it was good. As long as I can still be creative, I'm geeked. It's even better because before, my every other aspect was destruction. Now I can do both which is important because they feed off each other."
Rip Mac miller I felt no one knew how to understand what he was going through He Will always be one of my idol’s This part is To the people acting like you heard of him when We know for a fact you just heard of him just shut up and let the man Rest In Peace
kelsie ellington she was in love with Mac all along. She got with Pete as a way to get back at him and prove she moved on but she really didn’t. Her plan backfired on her and she realized she never loved Pete.
@@reezyvofficial it backfired on both of them . her not trusting him to get better. him not communicating his fears to her better. just read his/her music. broken man trying to self love.. she does not have wise people around her...
Ryan Voltaire just looking at her twitter, her saying that he’s supposed to be here, she regrets everything. I think she knows that he could’ve helped him. I’m not blaming her in anyway, but in her head she knows she could’ve helped him get better, but she didn’t trust him and he didn’t show her him pain.
"You just realize you have time, there will be a time to address those things, everything will be fine" 7:01 We know you didn't mean to leave us man. We are so sad you did. You treated us so well. With Love, The KIDS.
That interview was he last words to his fans, including myself. Watch that and remember how Mac was as an artist with a point of view so wide and kindness to people. I’m 27, growing up listen to Mac Miller was fun, lastest album hit me hard, always on while I’m on the road going places. Later last year I could make to Frick Park Market, had ti get in to see how was ahaha, life is special. Take care KIDS. Rest in peace the Most Dope One Mac Miller, Larry Fisherman, Im sure his light has a place in heaven. Thanks while in life Mac Miller.
He says in here that you always have time. i dont think thats true i think we should live as if we didnt have time. you really cant predict reality so go for ur dreams and goals. do ur best and love those close to u. life is short at the end of the day be happy and dream big
What kills me is that this interview was probsbñy the most coherent I've seen Mac. Not only did he look healthy, but the way he spoke was different. It gives me the impression that he was really getting on track. Even with his latest performances, Mac was on that right path. But addiction is so fuckin real. And it doesn't just come with physical substance. When I found out he overdosed, it hurt. Because he had so much more to give with somewhat of a clear mind. I know that feeling. We lost a great one. Rest easy Mac. I wish you knew how many lives you saved with your creativity. And how many you influenced to speak up about our mental. Blessings.
Afterglow Beats best comment since his passing. I never really listened to him until now. But I have depression and anxiety and his songs make me feel very calm and relaxed.
Mac always rapped about overdosing and dying young but that was his release. As an artist you pour you feelings into the music as therapy. We all know Mac loved life no matter the situation he was going through. He said "I was drowning. but now I'm swimming"
I regret not discovering Mac’s music earlier on. I started listening to him ever since my daughter played “Small Worlds” in the car with me a year ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s funny how as a 46 year old woman, his music speaks to me in a way that no other music ever has. What an extraordinary young man. I am forever grateful for Mac and his music. ❤🙏🕊️
I feel you, lady. I'm a couple days from 39 but he was so wise beyond his years that, to quote the great Bob Dylan, every one of those words rang true and glowed like burning coals, pouring off every page like it was written in my soul.
That line got me thinking . Seriously, how many of us won't react like Zane when Mac asked him that. Count with 1 hand maybe two fingers the moments of feeling invincible in his entire life? I think we all humans need more of those moments. Like really , who really does ? I mean , we should all have experiences like that in life . Right ? Be completely certain about who you are , where are you going and Where do you come from. Understand all that And be totally happy and excited about the moment you are experiencing right now . Ask yourself sincerely , do you have those moments ? the present moment you are in , is far from that feeling right know ?do you ever feel invincible ? So yeah man , I encourage you that if you haven’t felt invincible yet , that you go out there and live your gift of life and find moments of being invincible and tremendously happy . Those are the moments all Human beings need to experience , the moments that will change things , and in this way we will make a better world for everyone . We need you . We all need you to be happy and share it with those around you . This is the way To contribute to the great change. For more moments of feeling invincible. Thank you Mac Miller !
l00p digga feeling invincible as in he would never die or things wouldnt catch up drugs do help with that but its more of a feeling that u obtain after u go thru shit
I think he said that because he had done a lot of drugs for many years and like he said in the interview, never ever really faced any consequences from it - whether that be from law enforcement, your friends, or ovordoses so he probably meant that he might feel like that sometimes because of all the crazy shit he's done and (at that point) was still alive and well without encountering the problems most addicts do (in part because he had a job that allowed him to do them and work on his own time and LOTS of money to buy them).
He is invincible is some sense, he will live forever through his music an I think he is one of if not the most diverse "rappers" I've come across, he can make you feel everytype of way an through so many depictions of different genres but all with his own style an own soul if that makes sense, so many artists completly copy the last man but the great ones take from the last man an add their own spin on things ❤️
mannn.. it's great to see him smile, it's infectious. he's got a really good point about social media, too. *EDIT* --- Be easy, Mac. We love you. ... (And, Can we get the rest of this interview)
He makes me smile so much. Watching this its like he is still alive. I hadn't really cried cried about his death until today. I think it was so shocking the first time I heard it and now it has finally sunk in. Rest in peace Mac...
imagine the poetry that would have come out had he survived the overdose, I wasn’t a fan until after he passed and I wish I would have discovered him sooner, maybe even seen him live. What a fucking shame. It hurts so bad.
“As long as I’m being honest, I don’t actually have anything to trip about because I know the type of human being my parents raised. I know, I trust in who I am as a person, so if I just keep it honest and keep it with me, I don’t have anything to trip about.” Beautifully spoken Mac. Love and miss you brother
Watched this a week ago and couldn’t believe the news of him passing today . He seemed like he was in such a good space but you can tell he still was going through something . Thank you for everything Mac
Jenna Reed omg yes🤦🏻♂️this is what trips me up so much about his death. everyone’s so “omg stop attacking ariana “ the respect level wasn’t mutual, he always spoke so highly of her when she doesn’t deserve it🤦🏻♂️
Why did you have to leave us?? I miss you. And watching this interview made me cry because you seemed, SEEMED, so happy. And it looked like you were getting your shit back, that you were OKAY with mistakes because mistakes happen so we can learn from them. YOU helped me through so much man, from my grandparents passing and a disastrous breakup. I love you and will forever keep a positive image of you. 😭😭💘💘 I’m so heartbroken because of your passing. May you rest in the peace you deserve. 🌹🌹
I wish he could’ve been saved from overdosing, it could’ve helped him change or get a better outlook on life. Poor Mac, he didn’t want to go down like that. He’s the only celebrity death I’ve been so heartbroken about. 💔
she seems bitter but what else can you expect from somebody like her. I'm glad Mac seems okay though.. I honestly think its a bit of a show hes putting on about saying hes good but I'm glad he can say hes good at least.
Nearly two years to the day that this interview was released and it still doesn't seem real that you're gone. My heart is still shattered. We didn't deserve you. Thank you for everything. Keep resting easy, I miss you.
It feels good to see Mac is okay. Like legit so comforting. I’m glad he took his time. I’m with everyone on saying I wish this was longer. I need to take a page from his book and step away from social media. Mac you are a light in a dark world 🌟
A lot of ppl won’t truly understand how many lives he actually changed. Macs the type of artist you show your kids once they can understand, just to experience the reaction they get from his existence. Long live the Fucking Legend.
You can tell Mac Miller’s been through a lot. Just hear the pain and experience in his voice. Very happy he found the light and didn’t let the breakup get to him
I wish I found Mac before he was gone. He has helped me a through a lot the past couple months and he is the first artist I've ever really encountered that I listened to and enjoyed ALL of their work and enjoyed ALL of it. I wish I could thank Mac for the music he made and I will forever regard him as my favorite musician and most definitely one of my favorite artists in general of all time.
thrift mafia lmao. You're lame. I never even heard Macs name until KIDS. And somehow that's our fault?😂 never let anyone call me a weak fan just because i bacame a fan when KIDS dropped 🤷🏽♂️
RoboticIzaac you're a lame cus you jumped on the band wagon instead of keeping up with music and researching and putting in the work to find artists beats and collabs mixtapes ect... Nah you bumped whatever everyone else bump
Thanks to his parents for raising such a great human being. I was touched how he mentioned it in the last minute of the video. May his memory be a blessing 🙏🙏🙏 thank you for your music and kind soul ❤
Being the same age as Mac it’s crazy seeing him grow with life these days. It’s weird because when you grown up you overcome trials and tribulations and Macs music since day 1 has represented that.
It doesn't make sense to me, I can barely comprehend what happened. It's been a fucking week and I'm still in pain. I seriously miss you so much, I want you to be here but I'm also glad you're not in this evil world anymore. You're in a beautiful place now mac, Long Live Mac Miller Rip
telling you... getting rid of social media is the best thing to do. "blah blah youtube is social media too" theres a difference between personal social media and anonymous social media. with personal social media people only see the happy highlights of acquaintances lives and it all is just fake. I haven't had personal social media in 4 years and it has given a mental clarity like you wouldn't believe
I’m right there with you. It started as a bet that me and a friend had that we couldn’t go a week without social media and I ended up loving it. It’s been 2 years since. Only thing I’m really on is RU-vid for alternative news media and sports and sometimes twitter for the same reason.
I was sober when you died , I felt like I needed to be under the influence of some narcotic to decipher and have a better understanding of your music it's been a year sinced you passed and I've been high ever since and realized that when I'm sober your music creates a cascade of emotions I found hard to bare with and that itself gave me a high, to reunite with myself my real feeling we love and miss you Mac rest easy and know that you've made a difference in this world...our world!
Mac is the best. He gets the idea of an album. It's like a story of what that artist has been through and what they feel and just releasing vibes into the world. Respect for Malcolm.
Saw him when I was 13 first rap concert I ever been to. Got a meet and greet seemed like a real genuine dude who actually appreciated/loved his fans. Thumbs up! We miss you Mac.
"i've lived a certain kinda life for like 12 years and faced no real consequences...". I interpret that in 2 different ways. Every act has a reaction. Mac had been risking his life with substances, then he got better & cut back on a lot of his usage. But, he still was living with that trap in the back of his mind. Who knows what happened.. but it seems like he stumbled too far, and he's gone to a different plane now. Be easy with these drugs. Love yourself, love your friends & fam, make an acquaintance of an enemy. RIP, Mac
Another emphatic spirit has gone!! They expressed their innermost feelings in their music which healed and help many depressed souls to press on in a cold azz world without meds!! They were escaping from reality with the enemy(drugs), suicidal and some murder within. He belongs in a greater space!! Peace ✌🏾
This is the Mac Miller I will miss see I didn't follow his music all the time but I watched his show years ago and since then would always watch his interviews and he was so good at talking and keeping you interested told a story so well and just seemed like a really good genuine guy I wish this interview was longer I want to hear more Mac you are and will be missed
Possibly the hugest Mac fan, I actually cried for the Man, shed tears, was left kind of broken and alone. But realizing he wouldn't want that. Instead, keep swimming, keep smiling. Enjoy Life
xOMEGA13x No it doesn’t and she didn’t at all. Im a Big Mac fan but she said it was cos she couldn’t be helping him with his drug and life problems any more which Is fair enough
Da Bossman yeah she did. One minute she's posting Instagram photos calling Mac one of her favorite people then the next minute she's putting his personal issues and addictions out there for the world to see and calling him "toxic".
Crazylicious Arianator yeah she respects him so much that she outed him for his personal addictions when she easily could've just said "He has personal issues to work out" and left it at that. I'm sorry, but Ariana Grande was dirty for putting his personal addictions out there. That shit is NOBODY's business. DUI, no DUI, I don't give a fuck. And even if Mac came out and was public about his addictions before, still not Ariana Grande's place to come out and talk about. Blindly defend her all you want, I'm not gonna listen to your bullshit excuses. Fuck her and fuck you too.
YES. Ariana has such a childish mindset. She couldn’t be with Mac because of his issues but not even a couple months go by and she’s already engaged to a dude that has hella issues and is borderline crazy. Where’s the fucking sense in that? I’ve never been happier for Mac, he’s about to do it real big.
Mac, I’ve been missing you a lot lately. You’re music made me feel like you were a brother to me. Thanks for all your thoughts through your music🤯 rest easy forever😢
