I feel like it's just me and 2 other people that enjoy Mac's singing in this song. Been rocking with this since it released. His voice in it is calming. Heck, the whole song is chill and makes you wanna sit back and relax - his voice emphasizes that feeling perfectly. Then Ariana's vocals come in and effortlessly harmonize with his. She sings her verse with ease and then their voices blend together again. I don't see where this song sucks or how his voice is "horrible". But these are all opinions. I like it, that's all I know.

these 2 really loved each other and this song is chef's kiss. 2 musicians putting their real feelings for each other on a beat. the lyrics sang are for each other and only for each other. us, the listeners, can relate because of how harmonic this song is.

I can’t even imagine the pain and hurt Ari would feel if she ever goes back and watches this music video… absolutely heart wrenching to think about bc it is so beautiful and you can genuinely see the love shared between the two of them here & to think that’s gone in this lifetime is horrible for us to even think about let alone her. I also can understand people thinking he could do better because she ultimately left him but that really doesn’t matter you can only ask someone to change and try to fix someone to no avail for so long before you just can’t do it anymore no matter if you are still in love with them or not you have to put yourself & your happiness first you can’t sit there & drown with them forever thinking it’ll change because likely it won’t and you yourself are never going to be happy sometimes leaving is what needs to be done for the other person to realize they actually do need to change and then they finally make an effort to do so which then results in ultimately save their life. It’s just truly sad in this case it was the opposite effect, I only say that because I know it first hand. Plus it had to hurt like hell seeing someone you love so much like that all the time and not being able to help them that alone is depressing on top of it affecting the relationship. Okay, sad stuff but like does anyone actually realize how crazy this song is from a musical perspective? This is like highkey not stuff you’d expect from such a popular artist. They keyboard solo at the beginning is phenomenal and the tuplety “drunk” feel he uses for the backing beat are two aspects that are highkey interesting

It sucks because they both really loved each other, but Ariana had to end it because of his addiction. She tried her hardest and he tried his hardest to stop, but they couldn’t. If he would have gotten himself together, they would be together. But i understand addiction is hard, my mom struggles with it and I see how hard it is. Like something really personal is happening with my mom, and I understand about addiction even MORE than i did when I was little.

Ariana inspired me to go all in with my music because she was once just like me, a voice without a lot of people listening. And now she’s on top. I believe it will happen for me one day, Im not stopping when it does! 🚀🚀🚀
