For most of my viewers I know they are PC fanatics and the thought of ANY Mac gags them, but the Mac world is changing and you may just find a MAc is really what you needed all along!
Dude I have a striped series. I walked into my local small town pawn shop and it's hanging on the wall for $200. Part of the floyd was loose and rattling when the salesman shook the guitar also whoever had it left it sitting next to a wall heater and the finish started to melt. Couldn't believe the price fkn bought it and its a great sounding guitar. I have many in the stable and it's right at home here! hah
Mac's are useless overpriced and underpowered machines. I am no Windows lover either. But I would never, ever touch a Mac. The OS is a joke made for children and the price you spend for the hardware you get is even more laughable. For the price of a high end Mac, I could easily build a super high end PC that blows that high end Mac out of the water in EVERY possible way for the same price hell even lower Apple makes junk. They have always made Junk. The C64 was a better computer than the Apple II line (excluding the GS since that was 16 bit). The Amiga blew the Mac's of that era out of the water in everything. PC's are still miles better than anything Apple produces. Facts are facts.
i disagree, theres alot of tech channels out there, adn this one is just not made professionally enough compared to them, Elric also doesnt seem too knowledgeable in the field.
Watching this on an M1 MacBook Air while transcoding a bunch of my BD rips from x264 to x265 using the M1's hardware encoders. Current throughput is about 240 FPS and the laptop is warm, just passive cooling. Easily the best laptop I've owned over ~30 years of laptops & portables. Had it for about 18 months now. Never had a crash. Ever. I spend most of my time in VSCode and XCode. Things compile blazingly fast. Very impressed with what Apple pulled off using ARM as a base and bolting on super fast memory, buses, etc. Blows my ARM based Surface out of the water, and I run Win10 ARM in a VM on the M1 Mac. It's way faster than on the actual Surface.
Welcome back and i couldn’t agree with you more on your perspective. Was a big PC guy about 5-8 years ago and now I’ve converted to mostly Apple everything. The days of making a big deal about custom building, modding, and upgrading my own crap are behind me. The M1 owns.
I love that people talk about that but never mention that for you to get the best of everything in apple you need to get into the echo system and i personally dont like that
Never been a mac fan, but credit where credit due, apple did pull off the move to Arm pretty smoothly. Plus if you not a tech / computer guy and not willing to learn key short cuts or play around with your setup then I would recommend a Mac as it is simple and reliable. Prices wise I think your wrong though, apple laptops and computer have been going up in price and less and less customisation/ upgradeable option unless you buy it though apple, which just are a rip off. yes I know thunderbolt is very handy but not a big fan of having mini docks all over the place. Plus it’s still nuts to me that you cant use a iMac just as a monitor if you computer fails or it’s time to upgrade.
You can use it as a monitor if you mod it there's videos on RU-vid showing your how. Check out luke miani on RU-vid he used an old 5K imac as a monitor
@@ottoman666 good to know, but how many would mod it, it should be a feature really, how many will end up in landfill that could be monitors. Plus if you really want to bring modding into it, I can mod a PC to be a Hackinotish and enjoy both worlds!
@@amigang yeah but why bother when you get loads of hardware issues conflicts n driver issues unless you choose very specific hardware.... Not much point easier to just buy a second hand macbook or imac which if you choose the right model is upgradable
@@amigang or just use something similar to mac software on your PC if you don't mind all the bugs windows comes with though you could just use linux... It doesn't really matter what you use they all do the same thing. And as for gaming just get an xbox or playstation unless you wanna spend 5 times the amount on a gaming PC
As for stability, the early intel Mac Pro 3,1... not so much. The chamber design was a good idea, except the ram location. DDR2 ECC ran hot, but pumping already heated air from the cpu was a bad idea. I bought 2 of these a few years back to learn more on the mac side and the ram caused multiple shutdowns from overheating. I know this was fixed in the 1366 days, but the 771 days, not so much.
I purchased a mac mini M1 3 days ago with the view at swapping to apple. Amazing machine - great build quality, dead quiet and fast. As a Windows user everything but the aforementioned is against apple at the moment. Text is blurry on a 34" inch ultrawide (with no known solution) and I have tried 8k display port, Thunderbolt and HDMI cables. The UI doesn't lend itself to fast work and browsing the computer in general. I still have 10 days to make my decision but so far it doesn't look good for Apple.
Mac is built for the resolutions on their portable devices - I'm using a 15" MBP from 2015, and plugged into a 1440p monitor it just doesn't... scale well.
We need you back Brother!! 🤘🤘. But do not forget to physically rest and mentally rest as well. So you can keep making amazing content for us!. Elric you are a one tough men.
unfortunately he passed away from complications due to his health back in July of this year. still can't believe he's really gone. the family is still trying to come to terms with the loss. thank you to everyone that supported him over the years. He was true father, husband and friend to everyone.
@@Techoftomorrow not directly I guess if I connect the 3.5mm jack of the promedia 2.1 thx to my monitor output and the ps5 to my monitor vía hdmi I think it will work not sure greetings from México
I get it for video editing and music, but they have years of work to pull off comprehensive gaming. LTT just did a video covering some of that. If Apple wasn't such a wicked company that hated consumer freedom and right to repair, I might buy their products. Even the drug dealers back in the day cared more about their customers.
You are correct. Apple is a wicked company. Their logo is a direct symbol of the forbidden fruit with a bite out of it. The Apple logo represents Garden of Eden sin, even though the company tries to play it off.
Apple products are very very expensive here in Brazil...No way to have one of the apple products....But at moment PC is doing his job for me... but i liked your video and your perspective of the situation!
I was all into the PC till early 2020. I saw small companies trying to bring ARM based PC to fruition. the problem was windows 10 is brutal and Linux just doesn't have enough support so When I saw the reviews for the M1 and it was based on ARM I knew I had to switch. I now have 2 M1's... the Mac Mini and the iPad Pro, no regrets
The main computer on the ISS is a Windows 7 Lenovo, and I've run every Windows since 3.1, execpt server editions and ME, I can count on one hand the number of crashes I've had on one hand. Then one year for a class (when I decided to go back to school) the class recommended a Mac, I bought a Mac book had it crash at least 2 times a week. Brought it in for repair 15 times in one year, and the last time I brought it in when the warranty would have expired in less than a week and them repairing it would have meant they needed to extend the warranty for 3 months they told me it had water damage, but refused to show me the board and where the water damage was. I took it home looked it over, no water damage (I fixed cellphones for years at a major us wireless carrier not going say the name for then to get free advertising so I know what water and corrosion damage looks like.) I called the 800 number and told them to look over my repair history and the operator said they should have replaced the MacBook after the fourth repair in 4 months and they never did, but they can't do that now since the warranty is about to expire, once I said ok I'll just forward all the receipt of the warranty repairs to the state attorney general, she said I'm going to send you box and you send the computer to us and we will send you the best model up for free, I told her no the only way they will get this old computer is if I can take the drive out, and do the exchange at the apple store so I have it the same day (so they couldn't take away the evidence that my board didn't have any water damage) after another 2 min on the phone with them (this lady was the only one that didn't hang up on me when I tried to find a solution to the issue) so fifth phone call, 3 hours total on the phone and them not following their own policies the exchange it for the next model up at the apple store, at the apple store I'm there to do the exchange, they try giving me the i5, 4 gig RAM version when I was told I would be getting the i7, 8 gig RAM version so after another 30 min at the store and getting the computer I was promised etc, I take it home, it still crashed at least once a week, and still had to be repaired 6 time that year. In contrast I bought a Lenovo y50 it has an issue 2 months in (bad backlight) , I called Lenovo they said sorry, they said we will send me a Lenovo y70-70 and a return box when I get it just send the y50 back after I do a data transfer, they never stopped apologizing, they gave me a free upgrade when all I asked for was a warranty repair, this is why I'll never buy another apple product, and every laptop I've bought since has been a Lenovo because they knew how to treat me like a valued customer, and more importantly a human being. For that class I ended up just using my Asus laptop that I had at the time because the Mac was just more trouble than it was worth, and still passed that class with an A.
Or if you run Linux on your PC You get a far more secure and reliable experience while having way more games and still having all that hardware support, let's not forget the Steam Deck which is a gaming handheld powered by Linux.
@@slothgirl2022 not when you also add in Mac OSX which is still supported and used on Macs not to mention how much slower Apple is on patching things unless they make big headlines compared to how quickly Linux patches issues in such a short amount of time while also moving so much quicker in OS code development. Pretty much almost none of them will have a chance to even affect a user as it will already be patched and the user won't know the difference and moved on, the only people it will affect at worst is server admins that haven't updated their servers in a long time
unfortunately he passed away from complications due to his health back in July of this year. still can't believe he's really gone. the family is still trying to come to terms with the loss. thank you to everyone that supported him over the years. He was true father, husband and friend to everyone.
Their stability comes down to the fact that they have a death-grip on the hardware that's in their systems. It's ALWAYS the same. It's a lot easier to keep an OS stable on identical hardware than it is to keep an OS stable with almost infinite combinations of hardware. That's not because the OS is better, it's more a function of Apple controlling everything, including the hardware. Imagine if Microsoft had a death-grip on hardware, and you only got Windows on identical systems that Microsoft designed; that would be just as stable as Apple. And it's their hardware that's a problem. Not because it's not powerful and fast enough, but because it's locked from any kind of user upgrades and repairs. That's a huge problem for those of us who like to build and tinker. But even so, Macs are okay. As they say, use the right tool for the job, and in some cases, a Mac is the right tool.
Apple is still nowhere near gaming. It's already been debunked that there M1 chip can keep up with the best PC graphics cards. While apple has talked about gaming they still have a long way to go. Also, MAC's are not more stable than a Windows PC. That is a ridiculous argument. Also the price of a comparable Apple vs PC is still not close. You will still pay way more for an Apple than a PC if you are comparing what you get for hardware. Nothing wrong with that but don't sugar coat it and say their getting cheaper and PC's are getting to be more expensive. Inflation hasn't magically skipped over Apple products. I hate to say it but the things you are saying are so basic that pretty much every tech channel has covered them. Even the small channels. I use a PC that's amazingly fast and never freezes. So that's not really anything specific to an Apple. This issue with Apple is everything is proprietary and locked down. It's not a platform of choice.
Apple makes great productos, thats for sure, but it's a myth that Macs are more stable than a Windows PC, first of all they are not PCs anymore, because Macs are not personal You just get the only two orañ three productos available and thats it... You cant upgrade it or add anything. Thermals have been a issue for most Apple products for the past couple of years and are plagued of throttling issues. Video editors Buy Apple products because they like the MacBook pro design but in fact the Main apps for video editing like Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve and After effects are unstable, slower and prone to crashes on M1 platform at least in a similar priced PC You get better performance, upgradabilty, personalization and stability. For sound is different since it doesnt require a lot of power, a SmartPhone or tablet would be enough to handle the processing needs of a DAW.
You are more loosing touch with reality day-by-day. This latest video has not a single fact correct. Stop taking your wish-list for reality please. Give accurate information, rather than talk about what you would like to happen (and never will happen) as if it were real.
There is none. Gaming on Mac will never be a thing unless you run Windows through Parrelles or Boot Camp. Mac's just aren't built for gaming... Or for anything useful in general but that is besides the point.
@Jason Gooden I was watching this video on my 4th monitor while working in Autocad and Microstation on two projects simultaneously with no problem on my PC, what's your point? I would sell my soul to the devil before I would buy an apple product.
PC is where it's at. I've used Mac and I can't stand the UI and slower speed. Also you can't customize Mac hardware that much. No Mac has ever out-benched a PC! If you want SPEED, POWER, and PERFORMANCE, then a PC is what you want! This is wrong, most video and audio engineers are using PC. Logic is inferior to Bitwig, Ableton Live, Reaper, and Cubase.
haha well said buddy..this old man seem delusional and no ideas what he's talking about...10 years yes Mac superior than windows but now times flies...I see windows way more stable than mac even did a better job on real world professional application ...as music producer...abelton and Cubase did a better job than logic
Apple or Windows? Linux for me. :p By the way, for space Linux gets used most these days. Elon Musk his rockets also use Linux on the computer-systems.
unfortunately he passed away from complications due to his health back in July of this year. still can't believe he's really gone. the family is still trying to come to terms with the loss. thank you to everyone that supported him over the years. He was true father, husband and friend to everyone.
I will never back apple and hear me out why. They overprice their stuff, they close off their ecosystem, they trick people into replacing stuff instead of fixing it, they make so much proprietary stuff, can not build yourself, way to overpriced, they are against right to repair ( they tried to do the selling parts so you could replace but that has some massive flaws and it is only to save face while they try to get right to repair stricken down ), they have a closed off software on their phones and pc , and so many more things but that is some of the big ones.
Mac are good for like music and maybe editing if you can afford teh software but pc are all around better play game sbetter and just do multiple things way better
I am amazed to hear the nonsense you say especially that you know very well the capabilities of PCs. What happened, did you receive benefits from Apple? So let's sort things out a bit... Let's start with your field, which is music. The advantage that PC computers have in the field of music over a Mac is the ability to run heavy plug-ins on NVIDIA cards, many do not know this, but running a VST plug-in on the CPU does not compare to the power of graphic cards. Video editing and motion graphics There is no Mac computer that can stand up to an upgraded PC workstation, especially if the PC is equipped with a 13th generation Intel processor and an RTX4000 series GPU. 3D CGI has nothing to compare at all, Mac doesn't even have support for RAY TRACING just a joke. CAD engineering, what does a Mac have that can compete with professional cards like the Quadro? Just nothing. Stability on Mac OS are you kidding, I got the beach ball on Mac more than I got one blue screen on PC, there was someone who even made a joke video about it. Gaming on Mac... are you serious? Better not to talk about it at all for your professional respect, people will laugh at you. Since Apple switched to Apple Silicon the Mac has become more closed and less backwards compatible basically there is no backwards compatibility anymore. By the way, I also work with a Mac at my job, so don't fool me. www.gpu.audio/products ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W_6SfMZxoLc.html
A video from a Mac fan, not objective, dislike!!! (I'm a Mac owner but don't worship Mac). I agree dont be a Mac hater, but not a Mac worshipper either, the last is so awful
