ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns as Queen of Country Reba McEntire claims her red chair alongside last season's champ, Niall Horan, and returning superstar coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani as they vie to discover and coach the next singing phenomenon.
The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.
This season, the block returns to the Blind Auditions, and during Battles, each coach will have two steals to use. The Three-Way Knockouts are also back. This time, however, artists will select their own songs to perform.
Once the Live Performance Shows begin, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. This time, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

I Ioved when Mac chose Reba in the blinds because it shows that he's willing to explore outside of his comfort zone. But who are we kidding... He belongs on #TeamLegend. His smooth effortlessness is soothing to listen to. Very soulful and captivating. I would love to see what he does with John as his coach. Great steal🎉

I was really rooting for him on team Reba, but you really gotta go with who has the most experience with your voice type because they will have better insight on how to make your performance stand out. I believe he will thrive more now. He did play it a tad safe though. He seems like a sleepy singer, which even though he has a great tone, will be hard to compete with in the battles.

He should have picked John from the beginning because Reba did not know what to do with him. I am so happy that John finally got him!! Reba was not really in to him from day one. She did stand up at least rhats what I saw.. I love Mac's tone but he really should have stuck to the melody of that beautiful song..He would have killed it but instead to me he was just trying to make it his own.. Rule number one when its a song as iconic as that one sing the song and let your talent get you thru..he could have but didnt. Which really didnt help him at all..

Rachelle stuck to the original melody. Mac didn't and his tempo was off. He performed much better in the Blinds. Also he was off key at least three times. I knew Reba would pick Rachelle🎉 Mac has another chance.

Rachelle’s voice is diamond in the rough. The kind of voice that will surprise everyone as she goes thru her journey here. Can’t explain it but I really love her innocence, her face value, HER VOICE of course. So addictive even though she goes off pitch sometimes. How much more when gets more control of her voice Star in the making!

Omg! She sang Bleeding Heart for her audition and people said she was off but I thought she sounded so good, the song was just in a lower octave… and I just knewwww she would shine. Look at her go. ✨

They both did a great job, but I agree with John completely. Mac's tone is just straight butter. And he has such poise and restraint to boot. He knows his instrument well. The high false on the harmony, the tasteful use of runs and changes in the melody. One of the more polished singers in the competition IMO. I wonder what the other beginning Reba mentioned was like? This is the second battle where she's mentioned something being different in rehearsals. I can't help the feeling that she's going a little off-book and peeling back some of the reality T.V veneer on unwittingly that they don't want her to do. Like I feel like something happened producer or schedule-wise between rehearsals and the battles that disrupted things in a way she wasn't privy to or coached to go along with.

Mac sang the intro differently than how they talked about having him do it (which was simply the original melody and not his own version) because Reba likely heard that the way he was doing it caused pitch issues. Reba wasn't wrong either as Niall and John pointed it out as "pitch issues", and you can clearly hear them at the exact point she had told him to stick with the original melody. But, ultimately, I think Reba (and probably Mac too, since he didn't listen to her) believes Mac will be better with John in the end. If Reba would have chosen Mac he couldn't have been stolen.

@@KrystalessR I doubt it was a thing of Mac wanting to tank his performance to be stolen. I'm just saying the way that these performances are rehearsed and composed and stuff is a lot more producer-led than the editing would have you believe on these shows. I don't have any strong opinions or inferences, just the way that it was done suggests something between rehearsals and the battle that we didn't see is all.

@@TB317 I didn't say Mac tanked anything, he either chose to sing it in a way that Reba had already pointed out made him sound flat, or he had trouble singing it the way they practiced and defaulted to what was easier when he got nervous. What I'm saying, if you watched past seasons, Reba knew Mac would be stolen by John so her best bet was to choose Rachel so John could steal. IF Mac actively chose to ignore Reba, he needed a different coach anyway, that was my point in saying Mac as well. I doubt the exact way they sing a song has that much to do with the producers, unless the producers are actually the coaches and this show is a complete facade.
