Just looking at all those ratchets made me realize that I need at least a couple more. I only have one Mac ratchet and I really like it. The 18" 1/2dr locking flex head. When you have a ratchet fetish the pain is real... But treatment is only a tool truck visit away no insurance card needed.
the older 1/4 drive Mac ratchets before these ratchets can be converted to 3/8 drive.I did it to one of them using the ratchet repair kit for the XR5M ratchets
Mechanics just love ratchet wrenches. Beats me as to why. The tools truck man puts them up front on display always. It's good bait that works everytime. The tool truck man is carefully watching each prospective customer on the truck and is psychologically sizing them up. They know within 30 seconds who's going to buy and who's not. It's fascinating as hell to observe.
It’s a good deal for the money and you get a lot of meter for the money no doubt. It isn’t a cheap meter or amp clamp and the test leads are just right !
Hopefully that ratchet will do what you want it to do for you and you won't say to yourself later--crap I should have waited for the smaller one. That hand cleaner sounds like it would work really well. Thanks for sharing.

LOVE MY TOPSIDE CREEPER. If you don’t have one, you need it... so nice to get right back into what you are working on without risking breaking a vacuum hose or anything laying across the engine bay... for jacked up trucks they are especially nice
Clay - keep the videos coming. There are a lot of tools that i didn't know i needed until i started watching your videos. Now that you have the MAC truck videos I have been ordering online (hard to track down the MAC guy in my area). The flyer reviews are great! Keep 'em coming. Also the tutorial on the meter was great. That little Mac ratchet is nice I have the proto style my favorite non locking flex ratchet I went bare met proto because the handle is much nicer than the bare met mac
I stripped out a fastener using the RBRT 7/32 hex bit. It was on a clamp that holds the muffler to the headpipe on a Harley. RBRT is still the way to go for sure though. I ended up using one of the RBRT Torx bits on the thing and that worked as a rescue.
Okay, okay, I didn't know that 3 piece bit ratchet set existed. . . . . . . never ever seen that before ...... Now that I know it's out there, I WILL be pestering my Mac Dealer for it next Tuesday when he comes around ! ! !
Dewalt just came out with a slimmer version of that right angle I used the non flex one for years and put some torque down on it and never had to replace it I think I have had same one for roughly 7 years
The socket with the teeth and the precision wrenchs i believe will help remove compromised bolts as well. I beleive dont quote me though. Not completly rounded but up to 80%
I like to use the Zep Cherry Bomb hand cleaner from Walmart. Has Moisturizer in it. Also like to use extreme green full-bore hand scrub. The extreme green is also a good poison ivy treatment/relief. This hand cleaneris formerly called mean green.
Yeah, it’s odd Mac doesn’t make a 3/8” Axis ratchet in a 1/4” body. Then you could get the rebuild kit and pop it in any 1/4” Axis ratchet like you did with the Snap On and Matco. I’ve had the non-locking 9 inch 1/4” Axis and 18 inch 3/8” Axis flex head ratchets for a few months now and they are great. Have not yet had to tighten flex joint on either. Also have the locking flex bit ratchet from that 3 piece set (Mac sells them individually). It’s probably my favorite standard length bit ratchet I own. Great little ratchet.
I love that they came out with the just strip of the rbrt, that really makes me want to buy some now because I dont need the standard so itd be a waste of money, need the part number for that metric strip please
There were times were my metric rbrt were either too big or too small for the severely stripped out fastener. Swear, I've used SAE rbrt to fill in those "gaps" If you will and has worked for me. most vehicles use OEM metric fasteners. But replacement parts that are not directly from the dealership are all SAE.
Hey clay! For a video idea, I’m sure that a trailer electrical video would be a hit. How to troubleshoot lights and ensure good connections. Solder vs butt crimps. What kind of butt crimps. What pliers do you use to crimp without damaging the connector. I’m sure mechanics and drivers alike would appreciate it.
I have done a trailer plug replacement video. But solder always over butt connectors in my shop. We don’t use butt connectors. Solder, heat shrink everytime
I didn’t like them either ....... I will stick to my snap on crimpers. I don’t like the combo stripper / crimpers I just want the crimpers only. I have the power probe soldering iron I got it off the Matco truck. I also have a Weller battery operated one for long jobs. It gets hot and stays hot. Not good for short 1 wire jobs due to longer heat up time vs butane but it’s cheaper to operate on long jobs because you don’t waste the butane running it for hours
I have that same right angle bit driver, just note that small bits wont work in there, the magnet sits real deep. If you have the irwin bit set that has the, medium and long bits, the mediums work pretty good if you are in a somewhat tight spot. Kind of hard to describe, but the small t30 t25 bits wont work in it.
I probably haven’t even had my rbrt hex set a week and I really wish I would have known about them coming on rails I just took out the metric and set them on another rail I had and threw the rest in the box in my bottom drawer
i need to try that mac hand cleaner. we use one called GripClean that works great and doesn't dry your hands. I love it but there's always room for improvement
I really wish MAC tools would hurry up and start shipping out their 13" 3/8 locking comfort grip ratchets. Can't get them online and dealers are waiting on them too. But on the bright side! I just got a Harley Davidson 883 Sportster and that thing is put together with 95ish% hex head bolts, I have used nothing but my hex RBRT sockets on it. Haven't stripped the first hex out yet (KNOCKING ON WOOD!). THEY BITE LIKE A PIT BULL!

Mac is having a promo on the RBRT stuff. It seems like around $20 off.......Clay: do you think the impact RBRT bits are better to get vice the regular bits in the chrome socket? I am not sure if it's wise to use an impact RBRT on a stripped fastener, I would think using a RBRT bit on handtool like a ratchet or breaker bar would be better? Thanks.
I think the chrome are the way to go honestly on stripped with a ratchet so you can feel it slip if it does. I think using the RBRT the first time on good fasteners then impact away!
Could you show your ratchets that are 3/8 in a 1/4 body sometime really interested in that... love the videos y’all.... they cause me to spend a lot of money
hand cleaner needs to have lotion in it, cherry bomb doesn't and it will devour your hands after a bunch of washing. I used a ton of cherry blaster hand cleaner and at the end of the day my hands were on fire and had to take the next day off. Where as Nitro Gold (snap-on) you can use all day and you use less of it and it cleans better without destroying your skin
What was the part # on those Metric RBRT? I'm glad that they have small sets like that instead of buying the Big sets. Awesome job awesome video keep up the good work 👍
Yano what else makes some good hand cleaner? Brake cleaner! Beats Aveeno, Gojo, Dabadoo and all that all to shit. Leaves your skin a nice dusty patina and gives em a little extra texture for the ole lady. Zero risk of hand cancer and no water needed. Lol.

Howdy Clay, do the handles on those comfort grips get chewed up much from time to time? I feel like it would bother me if I had scars on them here and there from dropping on the ground.
I’m a tub o towels guy until the end! I’m ride or die with them. They work for everything I have needed to clean, readily available at any store almost and affordable. It’s hard to ask for anything more! They have NEVER let me down !
How long is the longer 1/4 flex with comfort grip? Is it a between size of what snap on sells, because i need a reason to buy another ratchet. I have there 3/8. 9" flex w comfort grip and like it alot.
ok so i took a big risk and bought the rbrt bits sockets from mac and ive not broken or had any of them fall apart YET i will keep you up dated after have so much bad luck with mac tools and having them break so easily i took a huge risk and they seem okay so far mind you ive only had them a few days now but im a heavy wait diesel tech and im not nice to my tools im a lot like wally when it comes to tool i prefer snap-on but mac might better than they used to be now
So what’s the real word on dab a do ? I’m up here on the north coast and always trying to find the next best cleaner ! Ain’t nobody sellin it online that I seen , is it worth it comparing to castle walnut soap or zolex ? Or even the Kimbal Midwest line up
Koon Trucking just over time people like using a little loctite so it won't back out and make it to floppy. My 3/8 Matco Locking Flex Head ratchet had the same affect my Dealer said yours didn't have enough loctite
I think there is only one company that makes them, but it's not napa, napa rebrands it from someone. So you can definitely find it elsewhere a little cheaper, but i would say that dealing with napa for it would be far easier, worth a extra 40- 50 dollars in my opinion. Good luck
Pitty all of these big companies don’t seem to sell online or ship international. No Mac or Matco dealers anywhere near me in Ireland and our Snapon dealer is plain useless.
Oh I could use a non comfort grip or I could use a regular wrench or a n adjustable wrench but i prefer comfort grips and if I’m paying for it I’m gonna get what I want 🤷🏼♂️
Love seeing the videos but it upsets me to see the Mac video because I miss out the chance to take advantage of some good looking tools and awesome deals because unfortunately here in Clearwater Florida we don’t have a Mac dealer 😢 but the videos are awesome otherwise keep up the great work I look forward to them every week
