Kind of the same thing, but when Dan Campbell was giving a post game press conference for the Detroit Lions a couple seasons ago, he started to tear up and cry a little bit. People were criticizing him too. Like, what, men can't cry all of a sudden and show emotion? People are truly messed up and need to sort out their priorities and realize that we do, indeed, cry.
When Catherine O'Hara gave her speech and Macaulay was trying so hard not to cry... just wow. It's so amazing to see both of them, alive and well, and still very close.
Even though he's a grown man, you can still hear that little boy in him. Good to see him doing well for himself and that he made it thru the perils of Hollywood's dark side.
You can hear the little boy in his voice because he’s definitely into boys! Dude needs to put some bass in his voice. I don’t understand why Hollywood is full of gay men. I’ve not heard his voice since from back in home alone. I was REALLY caught off guard with his high pitched voice
He deserves to have this moment. So many child stars couldn’t survive the industry and I know he has experienced immense pain. He’s a treasure and he seems to be a pure heart in a very corrupt industry. I’m sure this kind of stuff is bittersweet for him but I’m glad he is alive and well to receive this.
He’s literally the “90s childhood” All by himself!! Such an Iconic moment! Congratulations to him and I’m glad he’s getting so much love and recognition now💚
When I heard him say hey everyone, I heard the child he used to be in his voice and it got me right in the feels. I'm so honored to have had Macaulay a part of my childhood growing up and seeing the wonderful person he went through hell to be. So proud of you ❤❤❤
You deserved and EARNED this years ago, but I am SO HAPPY you were finally recognized! You are forever immortalized as the Prince of Christmas in an ICONIC movie! Love you Mac and thank you for the great memories! You did well kid!❣
All of these people all don't have Hollywood Walk of Fame stars: Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino Jim Carey, Meg Ryan, George Clooney, Denzel Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio, Steve Martin, Ben Affleck, 4 of the 6 Friends. Of course, Macaulay Culkin deserves his star. But, in order to get one, you have to agree to do a ceremony. And many celebs don't want a star and/or don't want to do a ceremony. Macaulay likely could've had a star in like 1992. But at age 43 and as the father of two, he is at the place in his life where he's comfortable getting a Walk of Fame star. So it isn't a question of it "finally" happening. When it happens, it happens.
And did you listen what the guy said at the start? from Hollywood Walk of fame's official website: "criteria for receiving a star consists of the following: professional achievement, longevity in the category of five years or more, contributions to the community and the guarantee that the celebrity will attend the dedication ceremony if selected. After the Walk of Fame Selection Committee has made its selections, the Hollywood Chamber’s Board of Directors also votes to approve the star, and then for a final approval, the names are submitted to the City of Los Angeles’ Board of Public Works Department." Stop being so negative, I think he deserved it.
@@tarawillis3995just curious, but are you that person who shows up at a birthday party and complains about the lighting or the color of the decorations?
The fact that Mac thought of Catherine as more as his Mother than his biological, broke my heart. I love that he found her though. Also her roasting Kate throughout the speech particularly the “maybe you should ask Santa for a new family,” made me almost burst out laughing 😂 I love how even she achnologes just how much of a parent her character was. Also it was so fitting that his godchild, Paris Jackson was there to show him that Michael was probably dancing up in heaven for him knowing how close they were. If you think about it they both went through addictions due to trauma. It had to have meant the world she was there.
This guy has been through hell and back. It’s amazing to see him doing so well and equally awesome that Catherine could be there to celebrate his successes. Well deserved and long, long overdue!
Truly surprised they didn't give this to him when he was a child. He was HUGE. One of the biggest stars out there for so many years. Well deserved honour!
I Think it would've been too muchas a Kid. He already was go in through ALOT! To Me... His Life is at a Perfect time for him! 😍 He is a Family man who Treasures them! 💗
Macaulay cares more about connecting with people and making everyone laugh than looking pretty for the cameras. He really does possess that certain quality. And the way he said, “Merry Christmas… ye filthy animals”, I love his sense of humor! Congratulations for your Hollywood Walk of Fame Star, Macaulay! Well deserved. Home Alone is still my favorite Christmas movie ❤
Brenda calling out “RORY, get in here, quick” was such a SIL thing to do, I love it. Their family is so cute 🥺 I love that Paris Jackson was there as well. I can’t imagine all that they’ve gone through together
I've cried watching the entire thing. Been a fan since Home Alone and cried so hard when I knew about all the horrible things he faced with his own parents. Today, I cried also to see he now has family and real friends! Love you macaulay!!!
This just has to be the most wholesome thing I've seen this whole year. Well deserved, Mac! Seeing him reunited with Catherine had me cry happy tears. ❤
“Home Alone” is the movie version of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” for the Christmas holidays. A long overdue but still timely Christmas Walk of Fame honouree. Congratulation MC!🎉❤ To say you were a 90s ICON is an understatement and i’m sure everyone is happy that a child actor of your status has survived and ended up with a healthy and happy life.
Never have i ever been this emotional and happy over somebody’s induction into HWOF. He already earned the status of a living legend, so this feels very deserved. And i am so happy to see him surrounded by his loved ones on this special occasion. All the best for you Macaulay!
I am so happy for Macaulay, he totally deserves this recognition. It was a very emotional moment for him, probably remembering the good, the bad and everything in between. I hope this moment was cathartic for him, to be recognised for how hard he worked but this time surrounded by the people he loves, he feels safe with and has fun with. I am so glad he never gave up! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness with your family and loved ones!
Macaulay Culkin is still quite active and very talented, from being a musician to making appearances on sitcoms over the years to indie films, even the 10th season of American Horror Story - this is well deserved!
Macaulay totally deserves this a true legend from 90s. Great to see Paris Jackson there as well. Maccaulay was a true friend to Michael Jackson, who would be so proud of him
@leesamarie7732 Signs, Mean Creek are worthy mentions as well as Down The Valley though I didn't understand the film though he's actually good in all of them. You Can Count On Me another one to mention. Richie Rich doesn't count since he plays the younger version of Macaulay Culkin's character, The Good Son was a photo. Igby Goes Down he plays another younger version of his brothers character which was Kieran. The only adult role I saw Rory in was Twelve.
This made me so emotional. I feel so much joy for him. His journey to get this point.. boy I can only imagine the things we don’t know. So well deserved. Congratulations Macaulay❤️
Catherine was really warm and caring, sad that Culkin got through all those tough days. If he were to have a mother like Catherine would be another life story for Macaulay. Fame is hard to handle.
He deserved this since home alone 2, Richie Rich or the good son, he's an ICON, a Living Legend, the most successfull child star of all time and he should be a Kennedy Center Honoree too ❤
I’m so proud of Macauley, I’ve prayed for him for along time and thankful to God he’s doing great with a beautiful family and his star on the walk of fame. He was a precious child and a he’s handsome young man. God bless him.🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Congratulations from Spain for such great recognition. Finally the work of this great little actor is recognized. For those of us who grew up in the 90s, "Home Alone" is not simply a Christmas movie, so the award for that great movie is more than justified. But not only Macaulay Culkin but the entire cast... I don't want to forget John Heard, the "father" of our "Kevin".
I will honest I almost crying too! I was Born in 1993 a he was hero of my childood! Thanks god he found again light again! I’m so happy for him and think world can say to thank you to His love Brenda and His children! They saved him from dark place! He looks happy and healthy! I’m not very religious person but please god bless them all!
"Say good night Kevin. ,Good night Kevin" Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without McCauley. Let's just say that. 😅 loved his smart mouth. He was so far past his time. I'm glad they are finally giving him his flowers. He had so much to do but of course as a young star, it can get hectic. Glad he is still here with us. Congrats McCauley.
I love the you stuck around and stuck around a bit more and you did a bit more sticking around. Oh yeah and a bit more sticking around. That’s good friends defo put a big smile on my face. Well deserved Macaulay Culkin
i’ve never watched one of these. but i’ve got a huge grin on myself. he has such a wonderful sense of self, a real leader, quiet strength. i am in awe of all he has endured in his life. although he was away from film for quite awhile, whenever i would see his brothers, i would see him. and their talent and sense of humor alerted me to how interesting and special they are from that family. congratulations !
For anyone who grew up in the Gen X or early Millenial generation watching "Home Alone" --- Macaulay Culkin is the reason we love Christmas and the holiday season! 🎄🎅
Congratulations Macaulay! I loved Catherine's speach and that Home Alone movie I never get tired of watching and never will. A true Christmas classic! Blessings always and Merry Christmas
I really feel this is so deserved. I understand you’re struggle as a young lad but my kids grew up with you - 37 & 35 now. They still adore you and so do I. Much respect and congratulations!
The way this amazing guy has really blessed so many of our families with great Christmas memories generations on and will continue to is such a blessing to us all..congrats, you earned it!

I’m so happy for him. He made my childhood and my lonely Christmases with just my mother (rip) special. Every Christmas I let Macaulay in my home and share in his adventures and I will for as long as I live. Thanks for all the joy Kevin. ❤
He def came along way wat brought me to tears was hearing him say “Merry Christmas you filthy animals” 😭😭🤗🤗🤗who would’ve thought we would hear that iconic line again it’s at the 20:09 mark congrats Macauly I’m glad to see him again first saw him on the celebrity edition of Jeopardy back in October and now seeing him getting his star on the Walk of Fame well deserved congrats 🤗🙏🏾🙏🏾💪🏾💐💐💐💐👏👏👏👏👏👏
That was fun. It’s like a Hollywood roast but no one goes home suicidal. Nice to see them sharing and feeling loved by each other. Congrats MC. Well deserved.
That movie really made Christmas once you saw it. His face, his voice, & his amazing acting was just pure magic! He left an imprint in so many that he will never fully understand. We watch this & we are in tears happy to see him achieve this special honor. How special to have his little family by his side. I just absolutely love him!!!!
Awe… thanks Macaulay for making so many special memories for me. You bring magic to Christmas every year. I grew up watching Home Alone and now my children watch it and love it! Congrats and well deserved! ❤🎉
So well deserved! I’m the same age as he is and there was not a single Xmas without watching Home Alone. And how caring and loving he is towards Brenda and his little boys. Just beautiful ❤
I love that he truly took the time to simply thank the people dearest to him and didn’t feel pressured to spew some polished speech. Congrats McCaulay ❤
He really does deserve this he’s worked so hard he’s been through a lot and he fought through the darkness and he triumph congratulations Macaulay Culkin I’m a huge fan of yours I have always watched the home alone movies ever since they came out and I still watch them to this day You made my childhood great
Without Macaulay Culkin, there would be no Home Alone trilogy, no Boy Meets World, no Ned’s Declassified, no Suite Life of Zack and Cody, no Stranger Things, and there would be no Good Boys. 33 years after Home Alone arrived in movie theaters, Macaulay has received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. As a fan, I congratulate him because this wonderful story is an example of how as long as we keep our faith while facing hardship God knows how to work things out for good in order to find redemption.
Relax. Macaulay Culkin was not the first child star. You forget Jackie Coogan and Shirley Temple paved the way for child stars in Hollywood. But Mac is a legend in his own right. I’m so glad a lot of these 90s babies like him and Lindsay Lohan were able to pull out of their addiction and abusive parents to grow up to lead happy and relatively normal lives as parents.
that makes no sense...child actors have ALWAYS existed. Those are all tv shows...if you said maybe child-lead movies wouldn't have become as prevalent then maybe that'd make more sense. But there have always been child-led sitcoms and tv shows.
