Guaranteed they'll try to remake HA. That's what Hollywood is all about. Too hard to come up with original material. Much easier to try to ruin the genius that came before you
I'm so glad Mccauley Culkin is still around and looking good and well-adjusted. He's a big piece of a lot of people's childhoods! It's so nostalgic to see him now
Home Alone is probably the greatest Christmas comedy of all time. I have three must see movies each Christmas and Home Alone and Christmas Vacation are two of them.
@@Ironclad6661 Christmas Vacation is a masterpiece. "Anything I can do for you, eddy? Refill your eggnog? Drive you to the middle of the woods, leave you for dead?" "Nah, I'm just fine"
He seems to be pretty grounded now, for sure. Heroin addiction, if you survive it and escape, will often give you a big fat chunk of wisdom. I would know.
I love Macaulay Culkin. I think he handled and went through everything the best way that he knew how, and is thriving doing wonderful, a father. It’s so cool to see how well he handled everything and how truly happy and at peace he seems now. So happy for him. 💖🥰
@@jonathanespinoza4954 home alone is a Christmas movie so it’s going to be searched for more on google and RU-vid around that time. The RU-vid algorithm realises this and recommends it to people to gather views
Kushbump TY! Lol. It was bothering me way more than it should have, trying to figure out why I was glad they took invited him like a guest suggested. How I easily remember it being suggested, yet not a single other detail about it? Can’t wait till future tech can finally make an external hard drive with brain compatibility
Lol I was thinking that also I don't think playing joker would be good for his psyche that roll is no fucking joke no joke that roll destroyed some of the best actors and took them awhile to be themselves again I think he'll play a hell of a joker but that may bring back some very dark moments his mannerisms would be on point watch the way he moves and speaks
Imagine a movie where the home alone kid grew up and has PTSD. He lives in the middle of nowhere, isolated, constantly creating traps for intruders. Until the day the robbers actually return.
He looked terrible a few years ago but he looks very healthy now and grounded. Keep it up Culkin, you were part of so many youths upbringing in some timeless films when the world was a better place.
I really don’t mean to be “that guy”, but unless it was a better time for EVERYONE, we shouldn’t regard these all white cast movies as classics telling of a golden age.
The man is responsible for two of the greatest Christmas movies in history, and for that I will always love him, shame how his life turned out but looks like he has got his shit together
Why is it a shame how his life turned-out? As an adult, he's never had to work another day in his life, and he never really does. It's a pretty amazing life if you ask me.
Wow, never heard his voice as an adult before. Seems level headed and sincere. Also, watched HA again over Christmas and really enjoyed the movie after so many years. Best to him.
@@justin_your_cousin9273 It's how he acts. He kinda acts like a child, giggling a lot and stuff. I agree with Smith here, he definitely look his age. People confuse appearance with age.
It’s funny that people assume that Mac didn’t lose his mind and go through the crazy child star cycles.. he definitely went through it, just not in the public eye as much as others. His comeback game is strong.
@@gothxm It’s an expression, you divisive ass. “Funny” - 1. difficult to explain or understand; strange or odd. 2. slightly but undefinably unwell. 3. unusual, especially in such a way as to arouse suspicion.
"My life is unique to me." As someone who has a unique life myself I really like that. I'm going to use that in the future. Also I'm very happy to see that he's doing so well. I wish Macaulay Culkin all the best and I am just waiting for his eventual rise back to stardom. If he decides he wants to be a big star again I'm sure he can just like Neil Patrick Harris no problem.
@@JeriDro It's also incredibly true and thus not pretentious at all. I was born with terminal heart and lung conditions. Tetralogy of fallot with pulmonary valve atresia and chronic restrictive lung disease. Simply put I was born with 9 things wrong with my heart and my lungs were half the normal size with no circulation to my right lung. They were able to relocate some of the veins and arteries in my right arm to my right lung using what they call a BT Shunt so my right lung could function at just half capacity. I was only the third person to ever live long enough to be treated for it and the first to ever survive. Everything I have been through in all 5 of my cardiac surgeries and countless invasive procedures has been experimental at the time. I have been guaranteed by every doctor I’ve ever had that I’m in countless medical journals and what they learned working on me they have used to save literally hundreds of thousands of other people's lives who have suffered from similar conditions even up to this very day.
Is it just me or does Joe have a tendency with certain guests to repeatedly try and validate his pre-conceived notions about them? He started the interview saying he's so surprised that Culkin seems normal when many child actors aren't and when Culkin confirms this matter of factly, Joe can't seem to accept it. He tries to re-phrase it by commenting on the lack of child labour laws in acting, which Culkin also swiftly counters, and Joe then proceeds to make fun of the fact that Culkin's parents controlled his career to that he could buy them a house. Culkin clearly wasn't having it and didnt take the bait. Joe used the same approach against Jon Jones. I quite like listening to Joe, but this one trait of his is incredibly slimy and annoying.
Jason yeah i’m surprised more people don’t pick up on this, for someone who supposedly does a fuck load of psychedelics he’s extremely close-minded. 90% of the time it feels like joe doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about
His movies brought so much joy to my early life that I am really glad to see how put together and down to earth he is. That the portrayal of the media was so far off.
I've always liked Macaulay. He's a really grounded guy considering his status, and I enjoy his open and honest energy. I hope Joe has him back on the podcast in the near future.
This guy is just so easy to like and love , smart , sweet nature and he makes a great loyal friend from all the footage I’ve watched . Beautiful person 🤗
I like Mac cuz he is just like a down to earth kind of individual... he was on a few episodes of James Rolf’s channel recently on cinemassacre RU-vid , and he was such a good dude doing the retro video gaming thing . It’s interesting to hear a child star when I was a child coming around today and to be like wow we did and experienced a lot of the same stuff
This is the interview I never I knew I wanted from Joe. Culkin always seemed like this distant untouchable pop figure hidden from the public after the Home Alone craze died. It's good to see he turned out OK.
My friend moved to NYC for about 3 years, and befriended Mac. He said he is extremely down to earth, and hanging out with him (although surreal) seemed quite normal. He definitely had some cool stories.
Central Coast Cinema Frank would probably whip him with the whip and try to get him to say the N word. Sounds so brilliant that we should get this to happen!
And to think that the "gutter press" wrote him off as some kind of crazy, messed up dude. He is very intelligent, bright, articulate and seemingly normal.
I saw his first interview & i agree with u..he's really intelligent.,the way he conversed to the interviewer as if he was an adult. He's very mature in his age.
This is a great interview I love both of you guys and Thank heavens that Macaulay is such a nice person and made it out of Hollywood alive and looking young and healthy and speaks from the heart about what it was like. Thanks!
Macaulay in Uncle Buck is my favorite. "What's another word for balls.....(snaps his finger) NUTS! Joe's first impression is priceless. "You're remarkably normal". I felt the same.
Best Christmas movie(s) ever. Back in the 90’s when they’d show home alone 1/2 on cable tv during the Christmas season, was so awesome. That was a huge part of Christmas leadup in the 90’s for kids and had a huge impact.
What he’s trying to explain to joe rogan is growing up the way he did and having a acting job and being a celebrity at that age was normal to him just like growing up normal is normal to us . IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE .
