Thanks Andrew for a very clear and succinct explanation and demo. You've given me the confidence to order and change my battery! My MacAir 2017 is not holding the charge and turns itself off at between 38% - 44% capacity! Apple wants to charge me an arm and 2 legs and take a whole day!
I got a message from my MacBook Air saying I needed to get a service of my battery; it is 5 years old. I went to the local Apple Service Agent in Dublin and was advised I needed to book in my Mac to have it tested; this costs €49. I pointed out that I have run the Apple system check and it showed a battery issue. I then asked how much a battery change would cost and was advsed between €400-€600. I left and then I found your video. I purchased a battery from Amazon France for €60 ( there is no Amazon Ireland and I avoid Amazon UK due to Brexit ) ; Amazon would not ship to Ireland! I worked around this and got the battery and fit it with 10 minutes. It all works fine. Thank you for your great video.
I want to replace my battery myself but I’m worried about the connector part. Any chance you could do like a reel just showing that part? Also awesome video thank you!
I have a mid 2013 macbook air the macbook try to boot up but shuts down at the apple logo and the status bar the charger turns green but the macbook doesn't boot up I haven't used the computer for a couple of months because i been using a windows 11 notebook apple store technician told me it could be the battery need to be replaced but they charge to much for a battery replacement
The real 'warranty' is from Amazon, if it dies in the first 30 days you can get a refund, not sure about the battery status as the client has taken this away. However Sloda are typically very good!
@@Andytizer Hmmm, but I notice that reviews on amazon complained that the Sloda battery capacity greatly reduces after a short period of time. Like some people are getting less than 1 hour of battery life after only like a month of usage. This is the 11" inch MacBook Air that I'm talking about. Also, 30 days doesn't see to give me a lot of confidence. I found an unbranded battery on eBay for $50 AUD that has a 5 year warranty, and I need some inputs on which option I should go for. The Sloda battery on Amazon is $80 AUD.
all you have to do is hold the option button on ur keyboard and click on the apple icon top left. After you will see system information, u click that on then click on the battery section
hey, i replaced the battery of my MBA 2017. after replacing the battery icon is no longer showing in the upper left part of the screen. can someone help?
There's a glitch in the video between 3:37 and 3:39. It shows the Sloda battery in the compartment and then switches to the old Mac battery. At 4:25 it shows insertion of Sloda battery, the same as at 3:21. Something went wrong in the editing process. Also a portion of the wallpaper image when it boots up remains blurry. If that's because of the new battery, that's not a good sign.
Lol, @12thDecember, there's no glitch. Go back and look at the video again. You clearly see "Sloda" on the new Sloda battery, and he shows the whole process. No glitches! LOL
I removed my battery and now the connector won’t stay connected? If i keep hold of it, the laptop registers the battery is there but if i let go then then says there’s no battery? Can I use a glue to help it stick? If so, then what kind?
@@BadKid95US No MBA runs 12 hours in real life use. Back when it was new, my MBA 2017 runs only around 5-6 hours. 4 hours if I do something intensive like Photoshop. Now if you have the new M1 MacBook Air, they MAY get 12 hours due to the more power efficient processor. But the longest I’ve heard of was only around 8-9 hours.
