MACDEV XDR REVIEW & MAINTENANCE | BEST OR WORST MID-RANGE PAINTBALL GUN? 

I think as an electronic competitor to the 170R, Amp and DSR, it's a great marker, especially with how low of a price you can get them for. The mech frame was unfortunately a miss. For the bolt stick, replacing the internal orings with urethane orings will fix it 100%. I agree it should be ready to go out of the box. My XDR doesn't get a lot of love compared to my XTS, but mine has been very reliable for me so far. A thorough review and I respect the honesty. Looking forward to how the new GT2 will be.

I had the same problem with my mech frame, took months to get the repair part sent, by which time I already sold the marker. I loved the XTS, had high hopes for this one but didn't feel like it competed well with the Amp or DSR+ for the price. I really like MacDev, hope they learn from this!

Love my XTS, coolest thing on the XTS in my opinion is the adjustable front grip, want to get my hands on the XDR because of the mech frame

Great review Sir. It would have been great to see some chrono numbers and a little more in depth of the programming process. It's unfortunate that in today's day and age these seemingly simple issue still plague companies and their products. With the built in battery, what do you think would happen in the marker took a direct hit into the charging port?

Everybody is a bit different. For me the asa I am indifferent on. I think the ASA is easily the most over-hyped marker component. I’m not sure why everyone drones on and on about asa’s, when they need only introduce and purge air effectively from the marker. There is no performance benefit from any variation I’ve seen yet. I disagree with the board, trigger (mine are both nice and tight), but more so the foregrip, which is one of my favorite parts of Macdev markers. I agree on cheaping out on the feedneck (wheel), orings which are causing your bolt stick, barrel (proprietary bullshit for no reason), charging port on the frame (just stupid and lazy), and the mech frame is dog shit even after modification. It feels spongy, is unreliable, and isn’t fast. In other words, it is utterly useless. I won’t be buying another Macdev marker until they fix the XDR mech frame. It’s shit, and they know it’s shit. Here we are over a year later still unaddressed, and they’re talking about releasing a new marker. Screw you guys, you lost my trust and loyalty until you make it right. I have less than zero interest in the GT/GTI/GT2/GT17 until you prove that it isn’t another poorly supported money grab. They’ll learn or they won’t. I have. Buy products from companies that show interest in supporting them.

I bought a macdev back in the day, it was a lemon and macdev couldn't fix it and they stopped even trying to fix it. Fuck‐macdev-customersuport and their $1,000 paper-weights!!!

Would take a special kind of dumb to buy this thing over a 170 , amp or DSR . I'd take a Etha 3 over this thing without even thinking about it.
