I'd recommend Draining over Absorb. Here is the reason, life siphon is true damage. its a 1k damage and 965 heal which both scale with there respected stats. This is extremely potent and considering druid with Mace/Mace or Hammer packs alot of CC you are bound to interrupt them multiple times. As the wiki stats 3s cd is for PvE, in Wvw there is no CD what so ever. With carnivore, you can put a dent in Tanky players with low health AND burst people down with low health. Greatsword is an amazing option for 1vX situation, with its block but, Another alternative to Great-sword is Sword.x with the option of Dagger/Horn/Axe for the off-hand. Reason why Main-hand sword is good is because of the synergy with marksman. If you are aware, The cripple and vuln gets applied first with opening strike which can lead instantly with 3 bonus effect and 2 bonus effect on sword. It's state if they are movement impaired or CC'd you ether apply extra damage with sword 2 ability or immobilization with sword 3. Sword 3 > mace can be brutally devastating . You have an evade with 3... which is very powerful in 1vsX situation, with off-Dagger this adds up even more evade. When the target poisoned this hits 100% harder so you can surprisingly do a strong hit with this off-hand. Horn helps with CC and Stealth blasting and Vulnerability pressure Off-hand axe is really greedy Damage output, its actually better for Pvp but WvW can be used if setup correctly. ------ opening strike------ Like he said earlier in the video Big single damaging hit = big damage. Pets have big hits as well and you can take advantage of it. Lot of pets have good 832 damage to 1k+ damage to their abilities, which can hit well over 10k with might and damage modifiers. Here are some pet choices to consider with the build. Turtle - Heavy shot can hit over 10k Phoenix - Dash, Gale breath can hit around 4k-8k and dash can hit twice. Tiger - F2 gives fury and has base of 1.3k Chak & lightning Wyvern both give lightning field which leaping through creates a daze, this gives you opening strike back easily. Smoke scale - even though the smoke field is nice for invis, its take down does good base damage so it can hit decently hard. I would always always highly recommend turtle as the shield and damage it can pack is strong. Hope this info was insightful.
draining is good, but unfortunately the low icd of the sigil is not as valuable as it sounds because it needs to interrupt them not just disable, unlike carnivore which is just on disable. So compared to absorption I felt it was not as good, but it definitely could be used with absorption instead of celerity.
@@Vallun You have alot of CC and 2 instant cast Daze. You are bound to interrupt them multiple times, on top of that you can time these instant cc. Draining sigil Has no internal cool down; for example, interrupting 5 enemies with Gravity Well will trigger the effect 5 times. it has no internal ICD even listed on the WIki While Absorption is nice and being able to take the boons they have, it has has a low ICD with the exception of PVE which is bugged still for this very day. The life siphon provides a huge boost of damage and it always ignores armor and damage reduction. There is value in both but the damage boost in draining is very potent and can be applied to multiple people at once yielding higher heal as well. You can go a long way with it in a 1vx scenario. The only time Id really recommend absorption is to deal with harbingers or Will-bender that can get majority of the boon or classes similar to it.

Why not play as untamed? It has greater control of the pet which can proc carnivore easier, also more damage modifiers for power and dmg reduction when you unleash the pet. For weapon sword/warhorn on untamed also gives 2 dazes. You can get quickness from traits as untamed also. Anyway great build as always!
@@Vallun i mean untamed doesnt really rely on beastmastery, you can play with skirmishing or marks without a problem tho. Maybe try untamed, and even better if you could show us your results to compare! Probably going to be very good
@@koetje071 yes because sword warhorn would replace the maces as the more aggressive weapon, but its definitely still possible if u dont play outnumbered
I really want to like the hunter in this game but my god why the fuk would you make a hunter class and then make them bad with bows? I've tried so hard to make bow pvp good but out side of the 15k ish burst it does fuk all damage.
bow is actually very good in pvp, but you can't just camp it as your only damage like most other weapons you need to swap still. However, the untamed ambush skill reduces longbow skills so its actually the best for that kind of playstyle
Yes, instead of saying "she or he" people began using third person plural "they" to refer to people with uncertain gender or uhh idk anything you want really

awesome, this reminds me of when i first started gw2, and i had watched a video by you on greatsword remorseless with valkyrie gear. i obsessed over that build and got to plat in pvp with a few optimizations to it. glad to see youre still playing ranger and theorycrafting!
