Lace up!! Machine Gun Kelly back on Tim Westwood TV with another crazy freestyle on Capital XTRA!! Can you count all the artists Kells mentions that inspired him?
I'm not the biggest fan of MGK as a whole, but this freestyle was absolute fire. Called out so many huge artists, mad respect to him for dropping this dime
i still rather listen to him than lil uzi, or chief keef, or even post malone. all these new age rappers. to me mgk makes more sense than even french Montana.
Jimi Hendrix Bob Dylan John Lennon Led Zeppelin (and mentions their song 'Stairway to Heaven') Rolling Stones Billy Joel (could also be Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day) Joey Ramone (lead singer of The Ramones) Red Hot Chili Peppers (mentions lead singer Anthony Kiedis, and bassist Flea) Bob Marley Steve Jobs Marilyn (idk if Manson, Monroe, or both) Muhammad Ali Notorious B.I.G. P. Diddy (aka Puff) Bad Boy (record label owned by P. Diddy) Black Flag (punk rock band/MGK mixtape) Cleveland (his hometown) Jay-Z (aka Hov) Nas Lauryn Hill 2Pac Aaliyah Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe bassist) Jim Morrison (lead singer of The Doors) Sex Pistols (mentions bassist Sid Vicious) Johnny Cash Limp Bizkit Gorillaz Will Smith Nicholas Cage Sleeping With Sirens (references their song 'A Trophy Father's Trophy Son') Avenged Sevenfold ( possibly references their album 'Critical Acclaim') Future (not sure if reference towards the rapper or not) Kanye West
I believe that's all the references, but if I'm right about 'critical acclaim' then he could've also referenced other album names that went over my head. I wasn't sure whether I should list 'Cleveland', but I'm sure he was inspired by the city's music scene, and that's why I decided to list it.
When he dies everyone will call him a legend. You should have known with general admission. I'm from Cleveland so I knew from the day I heard him at house of blues and peabodys.
Man his mixtape 100 Words and running was on repeat when it came out. I'm from the Netherlands and been to almost every show he did here. He's STILL underrated
@@samfranco4641 That doesn't make him a mumble rapper. Lol. If I do a single project after a long discography of writtens, am i now resigned to the genre of the most recent project?
KodenameYT well no of course not, but Em‘s point is completely valid because of that. Besides MGK also said a couple things in rap devil that weren‘t based on facts like saying Eminem shelfed him which obviously isn‘t true
This shit still bangs 10/02/2022!!! Always got much love for ya, they can hate all they want, it's just because u got mad talent! My guy can rap, freestyle, sing, play instruments and kill it all! 💯
Freestyles can definitely be as sick as that, but as polished as that? I don’t know. Even his flow seemed pre-rehearsed. I’m not trying to take away from the skill level he demonstrated I just don’t see how that is supposed to sound like a freestyle. And if it is a freestyle then theoretically his music should be better than that, but it’s not. Perhaps that’s a clue.
+Ryu Chase I'm talking freestyles doughnut, so many US rappers have come on this or Fire In the Booth and flopped hard. I'm not denying US are better rappers, hell all the rappers I listen to are Stateside I'm just talking freestyles in a booth
A year after your comment and people still going off 🙄🙄 I'm a 1st gen Em Stan lol, but I LOVE MGK too. This BS with the hard-core Stans is getting old. It's been what? Almost three years post "beef" and people won't let it go 😂😂🤦♀️
ofcourse it is not ...... you can very easily hear a freestyle from a written song.. he mos def written this. even eminem doesnt freestyle like this. and if u think he does... its probably written too hahaha
Stephen G when u write an freestyle its no longer a freestyle :P the whole point of freestyle is you do it from your head and dont have anything pre written.
107598 No, a freestyle is a verse with no specific subject matter.. It can be written *or* off the dome.. Most of those radio freestyles by Eminem and Big L were written down beforehand, and they even say it before they start..
Michael Adams it's written. Kells rarely if ever does it off the dome. the part about "I'm a sex pistol, Everything I said vicious, I'm making Johnny Cash haters eat my limp bizkit" is from his I'm hated song
how has Tim Westwood not cracked 1m subscribers yet?? dude has been around for ages and has interviewed just about every interesting celebrity there is.
Hands down, the best freestyle ever, period.the whole anti establishment ,musical influence, and his own relevance to that topic ,and his delivery... don't even know what to say..he fucking killed it,blown away..this guy is super talented..doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
Aye look man, I'm a em fan for life, but this niggas the truth, hes up next, I can't believe I used to sleep on this dude, shit's not written you can tell by his breaks and pauses, along with constant focusing then looking around
@@ericcoleman5633 Jesus doesn't like you Jesus loves Machine Gun Kelly actually loves him I know that to be a fact but Jesus doesn't like you has to love you but not like you unfortunately
Every body accepts emenim but I think that they don't realize how talented and bad ass M.G.K is fire freestyles all over the internet and he kills it and stood up to em
TheMdub27 Fucking Eminem stans just like to shit on everything Mgk does. I love ems music and he will always be a legend but some of his fans are very fucking annoying and say stupid shit. I think mgk is a dope rapper.
No. Most of it was written. He might have freestyled a few lines off the top to fill in the flow but those where throw away written bars. "Learn your hip hop kid" has nothing to do with being able to tell if this was all off the top or not. People like you are easily fooled
How does this only got 600,000 views when some of these trash freestyles got millions still don't understand why people sleep on Kells fuck it lace up the real motherfuckers know what's up!!!
Tony Watson everyone seems to skip over mgk, bc he doesn't constantly rap about lean, girls, etc... personally I love the artists that rap and tell a story in it, I personally love kells, and Hopsin, tech n9ne etc...
I've loved Kells since 100 words and running but HOLY SHIT! "Everything a Sid Vicious" That's some Em level word play man, almost feel proud to see how far he's come from Ashley's basement! I've only ever had one complaint about Kells, I absolutely love On my Way and All Night Long but where was a song with a little monologue in the middle in BLOOM?! I get artists evolve but I loved how you just stopped the bars for a minute and spoke real shit! Either way I love ya Kells! LACE THE FUCK UP!
You can't deny this shit is dope man. The passion, the attitude, the voice, and the fucking lyrics on this freestyle is probably one of my favorites I've heard from Machine Gun Kelly.
SON HUNGRY. BRINGING THE HEAT. I LIKE THAT. MGK GOT SOME REAL LYRICAL SKILLZ. SON FLOWIN OFF THE TOP OF THE DOME WITH AUTHORITY, CONFIDENCE AND PASSION
