Saw them open for Pantera and many times since. The Blackening was a good album and tour. The last show I saw was before the band split. It was good. I totally agree. Burning Red while pretty good showed(s) how he's kind of a leg humper. Its sadly only gotten worse.

Their shows are still killer, but Robb sure as hell's becoming less and less likeable.

I was at their concert with friends back in 2004, when they played in Belgrade, Serbia when they were still good. Seeing all this fireworks pyro BS, now they look and sound almost like Scorpions. Which is a terrible thing.

I like deep poetic lyrics, but when I'm pissed off I also appreciate lyrics that are just straight forward angst. Not everything needs to be poetic, if that's not how you're feeling when you write a song. @SlayerPayback I liked those albums back in the day, but they didn't age well and feel dated...just like Soulfly's albums. I stopped listening to Machinehead back in the early 2000s because I just couldn't relate to what Rob was singing about anymore. I just grew out of the whiney/feel sorry for yourself lyrics of bands like Machinehead.

Okay after first listen. Was hoping for a 10 minute epic like Clenching or Halo or Now we Die. But this... I can't lie. This is great. Been a MH fan for life. Catharsis kind've dissapointed me (the album) Lyrically mostly. I dug the new direction but overall the album didn't work for me. "beyond the pale" "catharsis" "kaladascole" "heavy lies the crown" loved them but the overall vibe killed the album This. This though... THIS! is what catharsis should have been. This is fucking awesome. Thanks Robb for letting my favourite band live on and rise again. Fuck Yes

Whatever you say, it is the undeniable fact that Machine Head has even more supporters and is absolutely greater than Sacred Reich and Vio-lence.

I did not pay too much attention to the lyrics when I listened to the track for the first time. Yet I realized the unnecessary high frequency of the word 'fuck' was annoying me. So, the answer may be: Don't speak any english AND don't know the meaning of 'fuck'.

I'm italian and there's no need to read the lyrics to understand that this song is very immature.

Funny thing is that after interviews and contextual videos and new info and such, Phil managed to get a pass from just about everyone since he was being provocative to hecklers and he regrets his answer to them. Also, many witnesses said that not only did they not speak backstage where Robb said Phill used the N word (and Robb got away with saying it multiple times) witnesses said they didn't even go into the same backstage areas because Robb wasn't allowed in with the bigger names.
