I still think this the best song Machine Head came up with.. Great constructed, love the clean parts, solos. I'd say it's really big like Master of Puppets
@@Lopez-my1bo I agree some what. I think Locust is a fucking great song, it's a shame it never took off. I think it's marginally better than anything Metallica, Megadeth etc have done in the last 20 years.
--- lyrics --- Sweet caress Grazes my skin It's loveless These hooks sink in Behind an angel's disguise An insect preys Mandibles cut like a knife The reckoning Forming clouds Their shadow shrouds Louder the tattered wings they sound Descending down They come The swarm of locusts Skies above Converge to choke us Feast of souls Consume the harvest Young and old Suffer unto the locust Surrender These veins are bled Devoured Nothing sacred Strings pull the marionettes See how they dance Upon the winds that beget Our pestilence Forming clouds Their shadow shrouds Louder the tattered wings they sound Descending down Down they come The swarm of locusts Skies above Converge to choke us Feast of souls Consume the harvest Young and old Suffer unto the locust Bleeding from my eyes This plague is sent to erase us Bleeding from inside These vermin can't infiltrate us Faith appears and holds a candle Hark the angels sing Forming clouds Their shadow shrouds Louder the tattered wings they sound Tear the veil The lies derail Purity ever will prevail Trumpets sound The shattered crown Halos of truth now they surround The charade comes down Down they come The swarm of locusts Skies above Converge to choke us Feast of souls Consume the harvest Young and old Suffer unto the locust
The guitarwork in this song is just perfect, drums are incredible, bass awesome and Robb Flynn's vocals are so versatile! He can swtich from heavy to soft effortlessly; Machine Head deserve so much more recognition and respect than they get.
you know the album mix of this track is gonna be fucking savage i love how machine head albums are all so different, but you can instantly tell its them. so stoked for the album
Now, I love Davidian. Especially the ending: one of the first proper breakdowns in metal! But the headbangin capabilities at 6:35 is just pure groove metal glory! Just 👌!
Members of Machine Head, I want you to know that you are my absolute favourite band that has ever existed. You have brought me through the lowest points in my life and never cease to amaze me with your songwriting skills and amazing musical skill. You are my greatest inspiration and I will always be a loyal fan. I had to listen to this song 17 times to understand what I was hearing, and I realized that this is an unfamiliar sound, an amazing aound. You invented a new style and it is amazing.
Agree or disagree. like iron maiden and black Sabbath were an inspiration on bands like machine head. this band will definitely be a band people namecheck as an influence in ten years, best metal band to come out of the 90's.
Machine Head Lamb of God In Flames At The Gates Pierce The Veil Children of Bodom and Dark Tranquility Korn Trivium Sleeping With Sirens Rammstein Disturbed Metallica Pantera Deftones Brendon Small System of a Down
The guitiar solo and chorus is absolutely amazing !! I always liked this band and most of their songs/albums !! This was their best, hands down tbh !!!
WSOU (Pirate Radio) NJ....plays this...and it just gets me going while I'm driving...I'm getting this album, great musicians! This is great quality! Thanks for posting!
+Jeff Cosner Same thing happened to me a year ago... Singer drug me to a show in ATL a year ago and I was hooked. Yeah, they seriously went under my 90s radar... I was listening to Pantera/TOOL and pretty much nothing else
Sweet caress grazes my skin It's loveless, these hooks sink in Behind an angel's disguise, an insect preys Mandibles cut like a knife, the reckoning Forming clouds, their shadow shrouds Louder the tattered wings they sound Descending down Down they come, the swarm of locusts Skies above converge to choke us Feast of souls consume the harvest Young and old, suffer unto the locust Surrender, these veins are bled Devoured, nothing sacred Strings pull the marionettes See how they dance upon the winds that beget our pestilence Forming clouds, their shadow shrouds Louder the tattered wings they sound Descending down Down they come, the swarm of locusts Skies above converge to choke us Feast of souls consume the harvest Young and old, suffer unto the locust Bleeding from my eyes, this plague is sent to erase us Bleeding from inside, these vermin can't infiltrate us Faith appears, and holds a candle Hark, the angels sing Forming clouds, their shadow shrouds Louder the tattered wings they sound Tear the veil, the lies derail Purity ever will prevail Trumpets sound the shattered crown Halos of truth now they surround The charade comes down Down they come, the swarm of locusts Skies above converge to choke us Feast of souls consume the harvest Young and old, (suffer unto the locust) Down they come, the swarm of locusts Skies above converge to choke us Feast of souls consume the harvest Young and old, suffer unto the locust
I love the fact Machine Head keep evolving. I have being a fan since Burn My Eyes came out in 1994 and while those complained about the burning red and supercharger i took the blood, the sweet, the tears and bulldozer as classics. They played bulldozer at Wacken in 2009 and i didn't see too many unhappy faces considering every fan denied owning that album. Strange that. Ha Ha. Can't wait ti hear the new stuff live. |m|
I remember buying this album when it first came out. I was a big fan of their earlier work from the 90s so I was kind of disappointed. But listening to it now it’s x1000 better than the crappy music now.
Aaaaaah this is amazing! Machine Head's last couple of albums have been so good and this is awesome to, thank god they moved away from their earlier stuff to end up making metal this good! In Flames could learn a thing or two from the likes of Trivium, Soilwork and Machine Head when it comes to bettering themselves.
I love how I was listening to worship music when this came up...I felt the need to click it in spite of Athrax, only because Worship music is the first good album they have put out in a long time
I listen to this album during september, october every year since 2011 to curb a dark time in my life. I don't know why but it will always be in my soul during these months. Thank you Machine Head for getting me through them
