I really liked your self-driving-series and particularly the no-libraries approach. I am not a student and do this just for fun, but I can spot a world class educator whenever I see one. Looking forward to see the rest of it. I confess, that I took a peak into the recognizer source code and have to say I am impressed already.
@Radu
@Radu Год назад
The truth is that recognizer code is something I did in kind of a sloppy way because of lack of time. I wanted it to have a decent accuracy (works 80% of the time). But the code we'll have as a result of phase 1 (first 10 videos of this course) is considerably worse (~50% accuracy) because I want the simpler methods to be clear first. I'm still putting together phase 2 of the course as we speak.

Thanks! I know it and I use it sometimes, but for some reason it was laggy for me for this project... I even disabled the auto-refresh thinking it's because of that, but it wasn't... Anyway. Great video, thank you! Understanding the addition of lastPath.push(mouse) to this.paths was a bit challenging for me; perhaps it's related to object references. I added the "no-select" class to the container and used the styles .no-select {user-select: none;}, which helped prevent document selection when the cursor goes outside the canvas and returns without releasing the mouse button. I hope I expressed it clearly.
@Radu

@@Radu Yes! From the previous video about cars, I made my conclusions, which I really expected, and for good reason. I learned that too much randomness interferes with learning, and not enough randomness is not enough to learn to bounce back harder. Now I understand why in this situation it is still worth using the crossing of different genomes.
@Radu
@Radu Год назад
@@KlinovAS Interesting that you came to such conclusions :-) Indeed, it's not obvious why something works / doesn't work and need to speculate (make hypothesis) and test. Keep in mind, though, that the optimization method I show there is rather weak.

Maybe in editing you can zoom and display it in the middle of the screen just to bring the attention to it, since no code is being written while you're explaining anyway. # Will continue to edit this with things I find along the way :)

You don't have to use the '#', but it is used to mark a method as 'private'. It means it cannot be accessed from outside the object, only internally by the object itself. It makes the code nicer because it tells the coder that they shouldn't try to call the method from outside the object.
