The 1066 is a great tractor. I've ran a few and wouldn't mind having one myself. It's probably my favorite IH tractor after the 806/1206.

Still running mine 6200hrs. on her and running strong. Very dependable Tractor👍

These are the best International Harvesters ever made. We have a 966 that had a semi-restoration done on it and it's very reliable. I'd love to get my hands on a 1466.

Thanks for posting. I've always liked the older models of International/Farmall tractors. I agree with the guy you interviewed about the 5 millionth 1066, insure the crap out of it & store inside safe & sound. Stay safe.

I have a '76 black stripe. I traded a 4010 LP for it. Best trade EVER! It is the most reliable tractor I have ever owned.

66 series in my opinion best tractors international made I have a 1976 1566 black stripe #3 1566 black stripe I'm the 3rd owner and it hasn't left a 10 mile radius since new absolutely love it my pride and joy lol

Great tractor but I'm more in love with the 86 series myself... Better cabs, better look...

66 and 86 series were not built heavy enough in the power train that is why John Deere excelled in field tractors as they were built heavy enough to take the additional power

Just curious Pete. What did these go for new? Be interesting to have that information thrown into these types of videos. I know after forty years it's like comparing apples to oranges. It's just neat trivia to know the original average sales price new.

I wonder if the difference in lower/higher prices is the difference between someone buying them to use, vs now buying them as 'collectors' items, and.. maybe a devaluation of the dollar?

Amazing a 40 year old 10000 hour machine that needs paint for 15000.

Grew up mowing hay with a black strip 1066..... Think I may try to find a 1086.... Just for fun.

Imagine what those two painted all red could have brought if they didn't have such a ridiculous paint job..? I can't understand why you would go to all the trouble to paint a tractor and then make up your own silly paint scheme (or decals, on that first all red one with 86-series-looking decals).

What has happened, & is still happening is that the dollar is not holding it value!!! That is why it appears as though some farm tractors are holding their value.
