I learn so much from your videos, especially the use of jigs! Great work Ollie. 👍🏼

Nice work. I built your jigs for the hinge and latch plate and used them to fit 18 new doors in old frames. They worked a treat. Thanks for your videos. Always enjoy them. Cheers. Jim

Thanks managed to loose my old over complicated pulley jig in a workshop move. Mitre bond held up well. Quick to make so doesn't matter if the next boxes are a different width it won't matter. Cheers

Cutting pockets was one of my duties as an apprentice joiner many years ago, I loved making box frame windows. Top job 👏👏

On my watch later list with the other ones. I'm going to binge watch them all. How many more to come? So I can judge the size of the bag of popcorn & the bottles of pop I need 😅

Couldn't wait watched it last night. Sad thing as a kid (1960s) I can remember sash windows like these getting destroyed during demolishings' & the cast weights being collected for scrap iron.

What happened to part 4? When wet sealing the external bead, how do you stop water ingress between the two wood components? as just sealing between the glass and the bead wont stop it.

It's in my edit list, I don't get alot of time spare and it doesn't really pay, so I get to it when I can! There is a full length quick run through of the whole job you can see all the processes on without explanation if it helps. You can seal the bead all the way round but it's not necessary with Accoya, and makes removing it near impossible if needed. If the beads fit well the water doesn't do between them. Pros and cons to both internal and external beading

Hi I am working on replicating few sliding sash windows. Where is sash pulley location? How far should the sash pulley away from the top of the box?

High as you dare without it weakening the screw fixing at the top of the stile. 70 mm to top of pulley plate probably

@@BradshawJoinery thanks for the help. Also for the weight balance cut off. The cutting kerf is pretty big on my end. Not sure if this cutting off is required in UK? Or is optional?

I admit I'm a bit pedantic, but... ALL windows are sash windows. Sash is the frame in which the glass is held. What you mean is a hung window.
