Mackerel Lures | Best vs. Worst for UK Spinning 

Something you can do with the cheaper lead foil covered or silver painted casting lures is to dunk the bare body in clear 2 pack epoxy resin before use and it keeps the coating from coming off. Some of these lures only last a day or two before the coating comes off. If you have any that have already lost their shine and are just down to the lead you can dunk them in the epoxy then sprinkle some silver glitter over them, let this dry and then another dunk in the epoxy and your lure is all good again and will stay good.

Mackerel would take a bare hook sometimes, i use krill lures in Ireland during August off the rocks into deep water on a l savage gear Ultra light trout rod and 1000 size reel only problem is porbeagle sharks taking them on the way in. They are pests im the late summer time. Usually you'll get the lure back and a piece of mouth 😂👍

it doesnt matter what you use just dont reel to quick and cast just behind the school and bring your lure slowly back threw them, a single replaces trebles and fished point up you'll rarely snag, i landed mackerel on everything from mepps comets size 0 to 28g abu toby,
