Would these (the 8" version) be good for connecting to my electronic drum kit as an alternative to headphones? I looked at powered PA speakers but I feel like that would be overkill for what I need, i.e. loud enough to practise without hearing (or while barely hearing) the thuds of hitting the drum pads, but not so loud to shake the windows and probably bother the neighbors? Bonus that I'd be able to use them for other things, which I couldn't with a PA speaker.

I can hunk they would pair nicely with a drum machine or electric drum kit. They have good low end and can get loud. So you should have a good experience and range of sound. Good luck!

Hi ! I read on several articles that many people are complaining about a constant hiss on these speakers. Did you have this problem ?
@OllieLoops
@OllieLoops 3 года назад
Hey, I haven’t noticed a hiss.

Hi ! Tnx a lot! In other reviews there seems a issue with noise when monitors are on (with not playing music) do you hear that as well?
@OllieLoops

I haven’t noticed anything.

Just got mine and can confirm. This is either because i use aux cord or my grounding sucks. I will probably get new audio interface and replace aux with balanced cables and a better extension cord.

Not sure what you mean. The Cr8xbts have a volume /power knob. And the light is around the logo.

what does it mean that the amplification is ab or dc? the non blutooth are better?
@OllieLoops
@OllieLoops 3 года назад
Class A amps are generally better in terms of audio quality than Class D amps. Using Bluetooth for music making will incorporate a delay into the signal which may be undesirable.

Hello! Do you recommend for "home studio" recording? Can they be annoying fot the other rooms of the house?
@OllieLoops
@OllieLoops 3 года назад
I think you can use them for home recording. These speakers can get loud, but they have good sound even at lower volume. If your walls are thin then you may hear them just like most speakers.
@phoenixrising4995
@phoenixrising4995 2 года назад
@@OllieLoops Plus, you never run speakers at near full volume anyways because you could wear out the drivers. Thats why I buy a size too big sometimes. They are great at low volumes though.
@OllieLoops
@OllieLoops 2 года назад
@@phoenixrising4995 great point. You really want to buy large speakers because they can reproduce lower frequencies, typically speaking, instead of their volume potential. And a more powerful amp is more responsive, even at lower volumes.

Can you run Bluetooth at the same time while having a direct input source running at the same time? Example, playing a guitar/ piano through it from a mixer while playing along with a Bluetooth source??
@OllieLoops
@OllieLoops 3 года назад
I don’t think they work at the same time. I believe when Bluetooth is detected that it takes priority over the inputs.
@phoenixrising4995
@phoenixrising4995 2 года назад
Yes they do work like this. I actually tried it. Haha, great and its expected since they are dumb speakers and not smart. They just output sound. However Bluetooth is quieter so you need to turn the gain down in your daw when playing back the guitar.

Hello i have just one question do these speakers make noise if there is a ground loop ?
@OllieLoops
@OllieLoops 3 года назад
I haven’t experienced it, but that doesn’t mean it’s not possible. Try to get rid of the ground loop, if you have one. Plug all your gear into a single outlet via a surge protector. Or get a hum eliminator if you need to use multiple outlets. Good luck.

excellent test ! Thank you very much ! what about flow noises from the bass reflex port ?
@OllieLoops
@OllieLoops 3 года назад
Thanks! I've not heard of a test of the flow noise on the port. Could you describe what you mean? There's no "noise" coming from the port that I can tell, just air and some low frequencies.
@danielbauer4178
@danielbauer4178 3 года назад
@@OllieLoops thank you for your answer ! With many speakers you can hear noises from the bass reflex port, which are annoying, but I think you would have noticed ...

I just got these since somebody was selling one for cheap, was going to get like a Homepod or some other bluetooth speaker with good sound, and I figured oh these will do, and I could use them for other things unlike the homepod. I hauled these home without looking much into it, I'd say this design suck, the green line and that logo/button just look really cheap and tasteless. However the sound is really good especially considering the price, I don't even need to get subs for these. The cable it comes with is also like super thin and cheap so I should replace those with something just a bit thicker.

the face that these have a bluetooth connection makes them an interesting option . These are hefty 8 inch monitor speakers X 2 .. I would say that the sound out of these blows the bluetooth speaker compeition completley away.

don't buy mackie, bass heavy, muddy. Your ears get tired very quick. I have to turn volume down all the time. Big regret here. using FIIO DAC 32 bit /192 (knowingli crisp and sharp, yet with this speaker sound is muddy) mid is missing and low is muddy high is weak. dont get fooled by the 50cent foam. ou won't hear mid bcs of low and high is weak anyway

If you're an audiophile, I would recommend more audiophile grade speakers, which these Mackies are not. Maybe try Adam Audio, Focal or Barefoot Audio speakers.
