Thanks for watching, I do Gear Videos, ways of thinking about getting bigger sounds from smaller setups, and the odd DAW guide.

Nice review bud, the M1 sounds best to my ears. I had a gig two weeks ago where we had some issues with vocal levels, I was using My Propide tt microphone (same price point as that q7 you have there) couldn't get vocals loud enough and every time we turned up it would either feedback or we'd get cymbals bleeding through strong, after trying all sorts of tricks to no success we plugged in a spare Sm57, problem solved immediately, clear, good level output and no feedback. Needless to say I bought a 58 the next day. Point of my story is that I learnt the tonal differences between mics is negligible and personal preference, but in the real world at amplified stage volumes is where products shine and lessons are learnt. Enjoying the new reviews🤘🏼

Yeah man, 57/58 is cardioid so will only pickup around the grill, where as the Q7s I have is super cardioid so cymbals could be an issue if directly behind the singer,, also channel setup, compression, gain and gating make a huge difference if set correctly or badly haha. Sm to me has always been a mic you have to eq to get the sound you want, nothing wrong with that, I just enjoy being pleasantly surprised by a good source tone. I'm going to continue using this Mackie as my main mic for now, Samson was louder and brighter but high end distorted, rode I had a similar issue couldn't get it loud enough with out bottom end feed, but Mackie sat nicely on my mix. ✌️ Thanks for your story

great comparrison. mackie has more presence but has that rise from 2khz which makes your voice nasal in some instances. rode sounds much natural on your voice without being nasal.

I've found in studio the rode was one of my favorites but LIVE the Mackie kicks em all out the water. Highly recommend it for live use ✌️

Mackie em-89D ó el Sennheiser Xs1, cual deberia elegir ??

I can’t comment on the xs1 since I’ve never used one. But I’ve used a 835 and found it very tinny and harsh. Depends on what your voice is. More of a baritone try a sharper sounding mic for clarity, for of a high range singer wanting warmth, try a rode for example.

My main live vocal mic is Shure Super55 and Samson Q7x as a spare. I tend to cut a bit more low with Q7x Honestly for live i just prefer flashy mic tho tbh Shure is more easier to tune

Nice man - yeah I was a shure user many moons ago, but started going against the grain to find affordable options that work for me, and ended up with the Rode M1 mainly due to its beautiful sparkle in the mids. Samson is my "MC" mic, should someone want to talk etc, I don't share mics, and in todays world, it isn't advised either. The Mackie is currently my "in use mic", so far no complaints, gives me the sparkle i like and the warmth too, but time will tell if it remains.

@@JaredGunstonTV I agree, everyone should just buy a mic nowadays. Heck I'm amazed by how good those cheapo Behringer xm8500 sounded too.
