I wish I knew people in real life that appreciated Ben and Ryan as much as I do. Every time I try to convince someone to get into them they are iffy and never do it. Some of the most real and raw songs I have ever heard are from them. The level of creativity and passion that goes into their songs is like nothing I have seen before. Their lyrics are so personal and absolutely genius and heartfelt and leave me in awe every time I listen to them. I love them so much and what they do. Really incredible group.

Even though you're not going to go out and listen to his early music, on his first album "Language of my world" he talks a lot about white politics, white privilege, gentrification, and oppression. He even has a song called white privilege he did with XPerience. He is definitely a rapper with a lot of consciousness. Just take the time to look it up.

Absolutely brilliant artist. One of the few who rap about what they lived and not what they're meant to be. Same loved introduced me to him, but every other album and ep is so good! Loved the original version of "otherside" (as well as the remix) , "at the party" and many others. Consistently good. He seems really humble and happy to take the piss out of himself. It's not all guns sex and violence with this chap, just honest and sometimes very moving, tragic experiences (not all rap needs to be violent and aggressive lies ) expressed brilliantly with Ryan Lewis who seems to know how to translate the words into music. These 2 are a duo that will revolutionise the industry. Absolute geniuses at what they do. I would love to watch them work together and see how well they click. Well done to you both, years have hard work paid off. Just keep doing what you're doing and don't conform to what the industry tell you to do, regardless of record sales.

Grammys should not be awarded only for seriously intense craftwork. There is more to music than how well composed your songs are. There is more to musical appreciation than serious contemplation. How music impacts culture is the ultimate recognition. Feeling guilty for being white is SAD. Being made to feel unworthy is SAD. The award was well-deserved for creative music which impacted not just American society, but around the world. Not just the fans of the genre, but even old people like me knew the Thrift Store song. There are always other great artists at award time. But which ones most moved the masses with their songs that year? Macklemore needs to appreciate himself and his awards more than he does. Maybe one day he will see this.

First off, I'm a huge fan! You say that during Trisha's pregnancy you put your recovery first and you knew that it would take awhile for her to realize how important this was for you. For a lack of better terms... how long would you say that process took? Just wondering? I've been clean & sober for 4 years this July and I'm trying to hold onto hope that my family will forgive me for the bad decisions I made while I was using. I haven't given up hope yet! Also, I'm coming to see you in Portland on October 6th! Thanks for being a voice and inspiration to me while being sober. You have no idea how much it means to me to have an artist I can look up to.
