The Macna heated gear is great - but choosing sizes was difficult. Here in Germany, there are not that many shops which have this gear available at all. So I first bought the gloves, which I could get one of the big motorcycle gear retailers. They had a Foton 2.0 RTX Kit on sale. I planned to go for the cable later on, but thought for maybe just using the gloves sometimes, that would be a good option. I have short fingers, so had to go with size S. Rather tight, but with M the glove fingers were simply much too long. OK, one of the batteries where broken (it run for like 30 minutes and then shut down completely), but that was replaced by the shop. Then I got me the Ascent jacket. Very nice, even without switching on heating. I had to order XL for the chest / waist, and was worried that the sleeves would be much too long (only 1.70 m tall, short arms and legs) - but they are not very long. In fact, when I sit on my bike which forces me to lean forward, I can not keep my thumb in the sleeve (don’t know how this is called, but you can stick your thumb in so that the jacket doesn’t slip up when you pull another jacket over it), because it hurts. And thanks a lot for explaining that the socks are on the smaller side. I have size 41 and was wondering if I should order the 38-40 - but the 41-44 fit great. OK, a bit loose around the foot, but really tight at the calves. Had to order these at a dutch shop, as Macna comes from the Netherlands, it is probably easier to get the stuff there. Now it is all directly connected to the motorcycle battery. Which means you have to start the bike, then plug in the the Y-cable to the battery cable, switch on the jacket, close the overjacket, find the buttons of the socks (which can be difficult, depending what pants you are wearing), plug in the gloves (wait, first put on helmet 😂), check the app first to see if the socks and jacket are connected, then put on the gloves and switch them on. So, nothing you do for a just five minute drive. I tried as well what happens when I have jacket and socks already plugged in and on and start the bike then. Probably depends on the bike, how quick and starts, and state of the battery. In my case they all kept on, but went to the lowest heat setting. The gloves have no bluetooth, but that is ok. What I noticed is that the colours which indicate the heat settings are not very easy to distinguish. OK, the red is, but the other colours are not very bright, especially on a bright day you might switch back and forth, there the app is practical. All things aside: I am very happy with the stuff. Not a regular commuter, but I want to be able to take the bike for a tour on a cold, sunny day, so I was really looking forward to have this. Because of these different sizes I had to choose, I did not order pants yet. Also think that with padded pants on, the part of the leg which is not heated, is not that big of an issue as long as hands, upper body, and feet are warm.

Fantastic not having to choose between only either a battery or direct bike power connection. A real convenience that.

Im just wandering how do you connect the macna gillet yo the 2.0 gloves? The jacket has wires at the end of the sleeves to connect to the gloves? But how do you connect the gillet? Sorry i may have asked this q on another video.

Hi Tim - can you tell if the Centre jacket has heating elements in the collar? Also if I've followed what you said in your video, using the Bluetooth app is optional so if you prefer (or if you have a problem with your phone you can control the jacket ie on/off and heat level from the button on the jacket or any of the other garments, so you can select different heat settings for different garments using the buttons if you needed to? How long is the warranty? Thanks Mike

I'd be interested in the jacket if I lived in England in winter, which thankfully I don't. At 110 GBP, it's cheap. Nick J

It's a pity the phone App isn't compatible with Android Auto or Apple Car play as the temperature could then be controlled while riding a bike with Android Auto such as the Honda Africa Twin or the NT1100 and save the hassle of pulling over to change the settings on the phone.

Hello ! Does the Ascent down jacket go under your belsatff jacket without need to size up ? :)

So there is no remote, like Warm & Safe or Gerbing do? If you want to change the temperature, do you have to pull over, open the outer jacket, press the button on the Macna, or pull over, remove your gloves, and fiddle with the app?

Currently have Centre Jacket, Era RTX Gloves and Cloud Gillet My gloves alternate switching off once connected, ie one glove will stay on. My set up is linked direct to battery, The jacket works perfect, but as soon as I link the jacket, the problems occur. I have since just bought the cabling for for gloves, still same issue. Have ordered another pair of gloves to see if the gloves are at fault, if not it would suggest there is an issue with the MACNA power cord from battery. Considering using the CAN BUS power as I have a BMW, but heard that this also sometimes switches off as it blows a fuse? Contacted MACNA directly and they have been pretty poor in trying to resolve

@@Phoenix_1972 very, made in Oregon, just down the highway from me where there's no sales tax, so at least I'll get 10% off, but it is hella pricey indeed. I've seen a few videos that have almost convinced me that they are worth the "investment".

Heated gear really is great. Heated grips are a joke in comparison. I’ve got Macna Electron gloves…leak like a sieve. That Macna Center jacket is really nice though. I hardly ever turn it on in the winter as it is very warm by itself. I even wear it as a casual jacket in the summer. Nice and warm in the evenings, even without a battery.
