Similar in style but still very unique. Made in the good ole USA too. I think you'll like 'em a lot. They have a youtube channel I believe. It depends on the quality. Ash is the cheapest, cherry is the next level up, and briar is the highest in both price and quality. Ash has a more smoky flavor wood. Cherry is sturdier and adds a little bit of flavor. Briarwood comes from the briar root, which absorbs the flavor of the tobacco the more the pipe is used.
hello Mr. Charz how u doing. I enjoyed ur videos and I quit smoking almost 10 months ago and I became a PIPER which I love it. well I have a question for how to smoke a pipe. I just inhale the smoke and I don't know if that's wrong way to smoke or not ? would you tell me please and if you upload a video about how to smoke a pipe it would be wonderful. Thanx
Ahmed Youniss It’s a bit late, but better late than never. It’s been my experience that most all pipers refrain from inhaling the smoke when piping. It’s still tobacco and the risk is there, and more so if you inhale. I suggest treating it like drinking from a straw. Only put enough draw to bring the smoke into your mouth, don’t just suck it like a cigarette.
the mini wizard it is my everyday pipe for the last 6 months I smoke probably 5 bowls out of it a day ( the break in process only smoke 24 hrs in between bowls but after about the first week pack as much as u like) it is the toughest pipe I've ever had and clenches very comfortably. . great buy in my opinion
Come to think of it Wizard's didn't have Vulcanite stems back in the day, they had wooden stems, or they had clay pipes. Anyway, So the MacQueen Wizard Pipe is the most accurate depiction of what Wizard's Smoke in the Movies...
I'm sorely tempted to purchase one or three of these pipes, but the wooden stems cause me some concern. A wooden stem in the mouth must collect saliva, which could become unhygienic over time. What are your thoughts on this probability?
A pipe's stem will always get wet because of condens of the breath. Just clean the pipe with a pipe cleaner to get the moisture out en maybe let it dry a day or rotate ur pipes
I am not a fan of MacQueen pipes personally. My bowl separated from the wooden stem(It was glued), and the stem was very uncomfortable to hold in the mouth. They're also very hard to clean ,and the wood is... sub par, I would say, for smoking. Looks great, of course, very lord of the rings aesthetic.
One thing I've noticed about these particular types of churchwardens is they look like they are not meant to be held in the mouth or clenched. So that should be taken into consideration when purchasing one of these.
Guys be wary of some maqueen pipes, i bouth the maqueen pipes odyssey, and the barrel rider, the bowls were so shallow when i put my pinky in the bowl it barley cleared my pinky nail, which just made them wall hangers, very disappointing.
First of all thanks for sharing your experience! I'm just wondering to what extent the wood/wood quality of the newer "Briar Wizard" (with briar mouthpiece) differs from that of the standard "Wizard" made of briar wood?
