In this latest video, Ray Scott starts with basic macro shots using different depths of field to create interesting abstract images just with tissue. He then embarks on a different trail combining tissue with different backgrounds in Photoshop to come up with stunning photos with surprising results.

Kenko extension tube set (12mm, 20mm, 36mm)
Yongnuo Digital Macro Ring Lite YN14EX
Manfrotto macro focusing rail (Art 454)
Manfrotto Carbon Fibre Tripod
Manfrotto table top tripod (492)
When in studio, Ray uses Westcott lighting to make sure everything is well lit.

Great images, Ray. It’s funny a few weeks ago I took a shot of a old brick wall with a writing on it SNOWDRIFT Perfect Shortening ! I had never heard of this shortening before, but it was something that caught my eye. Blending images can be a very satisfying project, and you have some great ideas. Thanks so much for sharing your ideas and talents.

This is intriguing. I’m sitting here looking around the family room trying to visualize what I could use to create some neat effects. Need to start on my Photoshop tutorials. So much to learn. Also wanted to say that these videos are reminiscent of the Bob Ross painting shows I watched on PBS. Always enjoyed those. Thanks for the inspiration. I’m a happy subscriber.

Hi Ray. Some interesting images. Another way you can get an even more realistic blend is using displacement maps. It may be worth you doing a tutorial on that method as well.

Another superb idea, I can really see this working well in a set of images on the same wall. I have used crumpled paper table clothes in food photography, but nothing as effective as this. The editing of the images also gave great effect. Another superb video really well produced. Thank you and have a great weekend Ray.

@@macroworld4169 On a more serious note, I’m trying to replicate Harold Edgerton’s crown looking milk drop, it’s not working, I don’t understand the “less is more” with the flash to freeze the action, I’m shooting at full power and it’s not freezing the movement, do I need to shoot at half power or less? Do you have any videos on the subject? Thank you.
