Only a hard defeat for Ukraine will make some European countries come to their senses and take a fresh look at the world they're living in... The EU (in partiicular) and its member states have invested huge amounts of money and political *prestige* in the claim that Kiev must and will triumph over Russia - so if there is hard and final defeat after all of that, it will reflect very poorly on the Brussels Club and cause some open, unvarnished questions to be asked. Frankly Ukri losing this political gamble alongside with the political crisis in the EU that's just getting started, has the potential to really delegitimize the grand project of the EU (like, "United States of Europe" and "Ever Closer Integration"), so I hope that's where we are heading...

Exactly - and it's not even their OWN money! (earned or produced by them). I've been saying for two years that at some point, the phase of "It's the Economy, stoopird!" would kick in, and it seems that in both the US and many European countries, popular opinion (the voters) reached that stage during the last ten months. For many Americans, the breaking point came when the people of Maui could not get adequate disaster relief because Elensky was in DC to skim off his taxfree 25 billion first - while Congress was once again moving close to the gov't shutdown cliff. That became too much, at that point it hit home with many people that this war is hugely expensive for the West. And without any serious results: Ukra hasn't gained any steady ground during the last 1½ years.

Other sources are retired military like Douglas McGregor, retired CIA like Larry Johnson, retired diplomats like Alastair Crooke, retired military government officials like Lawrence Wilkerson, and retired UN lead weapons inspector and Marine security analyst Scott Ritter, who are still active in world affairs, maintaining contacts and friendships with people actively involved in international politics. All have different expertise, knowledge, and blind spots, but as a whole, have the best estimates. Retired Col. Douglas McGregor in particular. No one knows exactly and won't until all MIAs are accounted for, but anyone willing to do the research and /or follow the previously mentioned sources would have a good idea. I know people from Odessa who are half Russian and quite pro Russian before the war they are not happy with Russia bombing their home town or when their Granny was killed in her apartment! Odessa is now part of Ukraine, it doesnt matter what languiage people speak Ireland is a independent country although all the people speak English

Agreed that Russia is completely self sufficient, able, and much more competent than the West even dares to imagine. But if there's one thing we can perfectly do in Spain, is feed ourselves, and correctly too. .. I note that the reports of loss of Western battlefield mechanical equipment have lessened. This may be due to the siphoning of fuel supplies to sell on the black market. There are reported arrests, mainly in the junior levels, but as the fuel moves up the chain there is greater protection for the racketeers. Eventually it gets into the hands of civilian fences. It is suspected that as much as 50% of fuel "goes missing".

NOT a mistake by Western politicians to attack Russia by proxy, Alexander. Many of us ordinary 'peasants' who don't have your superior knowledge and reputation could see that launching a (NATO) attack on Russia was insanity. Sadly our logical conclusions as to the inevitable outcome of a conflict with Russia imparted to our alleged representatives in (UK) government weren't even acknowledged let alone acted upon. We have agonised since March 2022, along with your goodself over the appalling loss of life, not to mention misuse of OUR taxes in a war against a country we need as an ally, and have concluded that because they have been as aware as us of the facts, and inevitable final outcome of the conflict, they cannot blame ignorance or stupidity but their own evil avarice and ambitions. The recent and upcoming elections will hopefully remind them that they rule us WITH our consent. Ignore our lack of consent at your peril!

There was a massive attack on Ukraine by the Russian Federation on 2/24/22 directed by one man V.V. Putin with the goal of destroying the Ukrainian state...
