From the high-definition remaster of the 1984 film "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?" Here Lynn Minmay sings the song "Ai Oboete Imasuka (Do You Remember Love?)", bringing culture back to the Zentradi and ultimately turning the tide of the movie's climatic battle to save the human race from annihilation. The song was composed by the late Kazuhiko Kato.
This video is intended as a tribute to this classic movie. If you have the opportunity to buy it for yourself, you should.

That's the Easter egg I found, that got me to look for Easter eggs in all my anime. Another one, is during the technical/data screens, pointing out all the info of "Madox-01". A lot of it has to do with a high school kid that released music, in the 1970scalled "tubular bells" or something. Which can be found on RU-vid.

The edits are just so minor and all things considered, the Blu-Ray is BY FAR the best version of the movie. The difference is very striking when you compare this against the older footage. The job isn't necessarily *flawless* but it gets two thumbs up from me for sure.

Hei Man Lee No, I mean in terms of how the film has contributed to culture in general. In my opinion, classic animes will nearly always beat modern ones since they were original ideas at the time and not the same recycled stuff you tend to see nowadays. On top of that, some classic animes looked amazing despite the fact that they were done by hand with little or no computer assistance.

i agree, frontier, I didnt like it at all, plus I really couldnt get into the shows characters, the Main character looked like a damn woman and the small green haired girl was annoying and I can go on and on.

The first identified civilization in the Milky Way Galaxy, the Protoculture, were advanced in many ways, pursuing technology, art, philosophy, etc. For their military, they created these maclone or giant clone warriors called Zentradi to do their fighting for them. The idea was these troops could be biologically engineered to be so good at fighting that they would have no need nor appreciation for intangible concepts such as art, beauty, music, or love. The Protoculture thought they had achieved that goal. But in encountering humanity in the Space War of the Macross series, Zentradi learned all about music, and beauty, and love. It was discovered that music, especially, was shocking to many of them on first listen. It seemed to speak to something deep within their psyches, presumed dead, but actually long latent, hidden, and aching for release. When individual Zentradi were freshly exposed to all of this, they were basically paralyzed in fear and amazement, shock and awe. This made them vulnerable to attack by humans and our somewhat inferior technology. But over time, many Zentradis could become accustomed to music and other aspects of culture, enough to appreciate it, and humanity. Britai's fleet is one such group. They decided to side with humans against the supreme leader of the Zentradi, Golg Bodolza, whose typical Zentradi mindset was to just annihilate humanity and all of this scary culture business. You can see how well that worked out, here.

A Blu-ray release of DYRL was put out in Japan and this video is taken from that. I imported my copy through CD Japan, some other vendors out there may still carry it also.

Idontcare_626 At the time of release I had to pay $187+ to import the special limited edition box set. It should be possible to also import a standard edition Blu-ray for less.
