As soon as I watched this video....I went straight to Amazon and ordered one for my 28 year old son I’m sure he’ll be happy... If he ain’t... I’ll take it !
I want to get my retired mom a PEV and this looks perfect. She is scared to ride a scooter but she likes bikes and is willing to ride an ebike. I am thinking this one would be good, she doesn't want a lot of speed so it would be silly to spend more on a fast one. I am 225lbs so I would want a larger battery if it was for myself, but I think for my mom this battery would be plenty of range. Looks to be a great entry-level e-bike. I'm thinking it would make a nice Christmas gift.
I may be in the minority here, but when I hear spec numbers spoken out loud, they don’t always sink in. Having those numbers pop up on screen would be helpful for me, just as a suggestion!
@@busterbcook ahah yeah mine was bent i bit something wasn't very strong 🤣 its easy to replace just like any other bike just make sure your down stem is the same thickness and long enough to add the head set back on
Thanks for the review. I just got my Macwheel Cruiser 550 today. Plan on commuting 16 to 20 miles a day on it. I can say this, it works well from what I've seen riding it today, and about as easy to pedal manually as my 750 dollar Trek Verve 2 that's much lighter.
I really hoped ebike price continues to fall, around $500 would be a sweet spot for me. Of course it is still impossible now, considering the high cost of the battery, but maybe in two or three years?
Another disadvantage is the 28" tire size. That's a new size that I have never seen before. It must be new to the industry, as there are very few options for tires, such as getting a tire that's more dual purpose for mild dirt capability when needed. All of the tires I see on Amazon are strictly street or sidewalk appropriate.
700c, 28", and 29" inch are all 622mm diameter rims. As the tires get wider they change the name. 28"x1.5" = 700c-38mm. Once you get up to 2" widths they call them 29s.
Good point, Tom. The average person might not know this, but conventional bike tires and ebike tires are different. E-bike tires are especially made to handle the increased speed. I own three different ebikes and I can attest that I've sometimes encountered difficulty finding e-bike tires, especially if I wanted to upgrade to a wider tire to create a cushier ride.
This guy's e-bike reviews are done in Palm Springs. I've biked there a lot when vacationing in the desert. There are bike lanes galore, no hills and no rough roads. You don't really need an e-bike in PS. I always wonder how these bikes would perform in my mountainous west-coast city, with rain, congested traffic, and bumpy, broken asphalt on every street.
that’s nothing compared to the rugged gravel roads of the state of pennsylvania! i live in a town that has a combination of destroyed potholed roads, hills that are almost everywhere (since it’s basically placed on top of a mountain) rain.... oh, and bad drivers! ... from NEW YORK!
I own this bike in the U.K. It's called the Eskute wayfarer here, comes with a 250w motor which is the max here and in Europe. The throttle comes in the box and not fitted because it's illegal, but obviously I've installed mine. Sells for £899 and for the money I can't fault it.
In many ways this bike gives me hope. Many of my customers need little more. People are paying three to five times as much and getting little more, in real world performance (does a commuter really need massive hillclimbing ability or the pin point precision of a mid-drive?). Give it a vibration absorbing steel frame with a rigid fork. Add 700c x 50c tires and it is perfect for weekend joy rides as well as most urban commutes. While those are mostly less expensive changes, they are a pretty big jump. Buzzy aluminum is greatly exaggerated by box tubing for integrated batteries. It requires some sort of suspension. Sadly, that fork was designed in the late 80's for off road control, not comfort. Every time you stop, it dives, extending stopping distances. Every time you pedal, it absorbs at least a little of your power and that of your battery. That is magnified by giant marshmallow tires. Both reduce your range. Even scarier, it gets worse as the fork ages! Why not a more affordable, lighter weight and efficient suspension stem? Throw in a suspension seat post, with the savings. Now it is lighter, cheaper, better performing and has better range! This Dutch style step through geometry, in steel, with a rack battery, would give you a genuine luxury ride. It would be very much like a Dutch commuter. The most stable and comfy ride in the world.
Either I am so stoned that I watched though this whole video thinking its and advertisement for a new "Apple mac-wheel" didn't realize this was an e-bike review, or its that your review was so good and videography is so on point that it kept me hooked.!!! anyways, great job on the review. and it shows out of stock. I was just a click away from buying it.
This looks just like one like eskute sells. Like literally the same, just the name is another slapped on. Its like the Daniel Wellington watches where you could find china ones with another brand name. Nice to know that it is cheaper though.
This bike for this price actually seems not too bad for someone who rides occasionally, like maybe once or twice a week just for a bit of leisure. I'm not sure how it would hold up as a daily driver and the thing is once you get a taste of an ebike you're hooked!
I think it would look better in another color, but it is definitely a great bike for the price. I think I'd like a bigger first gear on the cassette though.

I did a whole day of research on ebikes and took a high end ($3000) for a test drive. This review was perfect on information, time and interest (the holy grail). So i've bought one. The 3 grand version (specialized) was amazing... I hope to add to this comment to compare
Can you review a RockShark 700cc*40 e bike. It’s 250 watts, Highland is the brand. Was once on amazon. But no more. However still sold on original company site. I can show a link. I am 6’ 0’ and it seems like it would fit me.
?? What's stabilizing the rack? it looks like it only has 2 point connection on either side of the diagonal stays. If it is not triangulated it will rotate back or forward for sure.
Correct! I know everyone wants stealth, Sleekness good looks etc... But with that comes proprietary expense! Give me the old fashioned mass market style of cradle batteries any day... As I can source replacements at lower cost or get it repaired easily by a third party.
It looks like it would do ok on a gravel or hard dirt trail like those found in parks. Those kenda tires have a pretty decent tread on them and as long as you're not doing anything too aggressive you'd be just fine
He named great reason, the integration of the battery. Alot of people including myself likes the clean traditional look of a bike without a big black box exposed for the world to see. It's not only pleasing to the eye. But security wise, bikes with integrated batteries are less likely to get noticed by a thief. Even though the electric is integrated, compared to this it's not a comparison in my opinion which one looks more like a normal bike.
Unless you address the constant threat of flat tires that comes with bicycle riding You ain't got nothing to boast about Your mode of transportation is flawed by wheels that can't perform
If someone offers me a bike to review but the bike doesn't look interesting or good enough quality to recommend, I usually decline to do the review. No sense in wasting people's time showing them something that isn't good and they'd never want to buy.

The Wrangler 600 is quite a beast at the price, and I love it. It definitely could use rear suspension, but a spring seat + gel pad will get it done. Overall the Macwheel bike series is a winner.
It looks good but that 350 watt motor is a deal breaker. I know, you won't find a 500 watt motor in this price range. I'm willing to spend a bit extra for the added power. This might be good for fairly flat surfaces, but for going up hills? Don't expect much. But I'm not really the one who should be asked about this. I ride a Lectric XP. I don't pedal, I use throttle only. And I purchased it for one reason and one reason only, to get from point A to point B. It's a nice bonus that it's fun to ride, but that isn't why I purchased it. It looks cool, So what? Its' good exercise, so what? It's fun, again, so what? It is fun but that's not a deal breaker if it isn't.
