I was going to make this originally, but I also noticed that I'm not the first person to make a Mad out of context video on RU-vid. So whatever, I'll just leave it here if people want to see more of this underrated show from the 2010s.
I appreciated this show so much as a kid, it’s basically a Kid’s version of Robot Chicken - but that anime girl and Pedo bear reference makes me wonder how CN allowed that to be aired 💀
Honestly, Cartoon Network has aired shows like Adventure Time and Regular Show that has done the most questionable moments that really look like it shouldn’t be for kids.
@@oku12 Not that there's any correlation between anime and socialist ideologies and philosophies from all differing perspectives, but that altruism and borderline-communal bond is definitely there lol Well, depending on the anime you watch, that is; you're probably not gonna get that in a show like Black Lagoon or Elfen Lied.
3:28 whoever decided that cartoon network should have an inclusion of trotsky, marx and lenin for a brief moment in this anime parody deserves a raise.
@@HangOnThereSlick karl marx is the creator of the communist ideology (well, the guy who named it.), leon trotsky was the founder of the soviet red army and was later killed by joseph stalin and vladimir lenin was the founder of the soviet union.
Looking back Mad was a really great show. Back then when I was I kid I used to watch this on cartoon network and I really didn't realize how good of a show it was and I kinda just ignored it for a long time. Nowadays there where times where I was thinking about the show and if its still recognized to this day and now it pretty much is after stumbling upon this video. thanks.
I believe it was the same animators, who worked on various parts of the show. I even remember once during a Spider-Man medicine commercial parody they did that one of the characters was wearing an El Tigre shirt.
This Show is a guilty pleasure of mine I grew up with and what I really like about Mad on Cartoon Network at the time that it had different animation styles, humor, parody skits of anything and some of different known voice actors that were included in this show here like Gilbert Gottfried, Tara Strong and so much more to say. If some of you hate this show that's fine I respect your opinion at least you respect mine?
I heard someone somewhere say that this show would have worked better as a bumper segment or even as a short online series. Imagine watching a show then for like 20 seconds it cuts to one of these. Or imagine scrolling Twitter and passing the mad account and seeing one. I think giving it its own show is what ultimately doomed it. Not the nature of the content but the length.
I feel like I was from a select cabal of kids who actually got most, if not all of the references. This show didn’t know its target audience was basically kids on the spectrum who remember every obscure reference they’ve seen. Even if they don’t really appreciate it fully. Its like “oh yeah haha, weird green goblin guy from Star Wars, but he’s in Power Puff Girls. I get* it.”
That last scene is one I wish I still forgot...also the whole anime segments insane. I completely understand why my parents said I couldn't watch this and I love em for it 😭
Funny how even though its kinda old most of the shows and movies it's parodying are still relevant bc they happened to have sequels, live actions, reboots, new seasons, etc so it's still pretty watchable for new generations probably
@@No_Sleepee Well, that’s the thing. Originality isn’t really coming back anymore. Most of the time you would just see someone’s unnecessary backstory or just alternative versions of other characters.
this show was funny asf… i swear it played a part in forming my very satirical personality when i watched it growing up… and just my complete randomness for a sense of humor
