5:32 Fun fact: Disney was *actually* planning to do a direct-to-video sequel to Pinocchio, but it was cancelled because the DisneyToon Studio was forced to stop making any more direct-to-video sequels once the Walt Disney Company bought out Pixar
This show should turn into a hit any day now. You have nostalgia, plus now the target audience is 10 years older so they’ll understand more references AND innuendos.
purplecatlover1825 randompizza how old are you now? Lmao if you were 7 when this show was out I don’t know how your parents can still control what you watch
the whole “spider man wants to be an avenger but they wont let him” skit is still so funny 10 years later when spider man has been an avenger for like 5 movies now LMAO
i remember when i was a kid, i would watch this with my siblings even though my mom would tell us not to. one day while we were watching this she came in the room to say goodbye and we almost cried out of happiness bc she didn’t notice.
1:30 This is a jab at Rooster Chicken whose main source of comedy comes from referencing the 80s. I think it's also interesting that Seth Green voices a lot of the characters on MAD.
They should honestly bring back this show, wouldn't mind if they put it on adult swim if they do and this time they could even add stuff CN wouldn't allow
There’s a part of me that’s wants that but at the same time partly why I love mad so much is since it’s a kids show, the adult humors comes off as more funny. Plus people already call it a kid friendly robot chicken
The reason mad failed was because the references they made were lost on most kids and so it wasn't popular. If they brought it back you would be seeing dabbing and fidget spinners everywhere.
In order for them to bring it back, they'd need to air it on adult swim rather than CN. That way it could work. However, reboots for the most part tend to suck so idk if its a good idea. I miss it though
I was around 10 years old when this show came out and I remember watching it every week despite not understanding about 90% of the material. The nostalgia I have for this and other shows like Regular Show are crazy
I used to record these episodes back in elementary school and watch them inthe morning before school because the time the new episodes released was my bedtime
I remembered when I was little i used to be scared of this show, all my favorite characthers being tormented, but then i grew up, and now I think its super funny and get the jokes
I like that little jab at Robot Chicken with Seth Green. 1:25 Also I think the Super 80's skit predicted the movie Ready Player One with Steven Spielberg needing all the 80's stuff.
Say what you will about this show, I loved what it was trying to do. The idea of an animated sketch comedy always excited me from a technical standpoint. All the different styles and techniques of animation coming together in one place in rapid-fire succession. I wish they went even more experimental with it. It was also neat seeing a children’s network dipping their toes into satire as well. And there were honestly a couple gold nuggets in the writing - it’s unfortunate seeing the writers holding back for the sake of network regulations (I’m not saying they should go all out ala Adult Party Cartoon. Keep it classy, but throw in an expletive when it feels natural, you know?) I would love to see an experimental animated comedy show in the future that uses a variety of animation techniques, with emphasis on gags/situational humor (I love the creativity in those), not so much in the pop culture parodies though. If those are to be included, they should be spread more out. I guess it depends on how those elements are distributed across the show’s runtime).

God, I remember watching this show back around 2012-2014 and usually had my most fond memories during the summer. But man, it was also just such a fever dream for me.
