I would call it a guide lamp to see the sailors safely home. I think using the lost broken discarded and forgotten pieces found in and around the Themes in this way is wonderful. My son is a Merchant Marine in the U.S. he is on ship now and this upcycle has made my day. Thank you

Gog and Magog! It's funny you should ask! Not only have I seen them, at the Greenfield Village/Henry Ford Museum grounds in Dearborn, Michigan, but I am a direct descendant of the Gansen Family, who donated a part of their family farm, called Greenfield, (if not all of it), to their neighbor and friend, Henry Ford. Many family heirlooms were also given to the museum.

You are so lucky to live there! If I lived in England, I’d be mudlarking all the time.

I grew up in Michigan. I remember as a child going to the Henry Ford Museum and seeing these statue,. waiting for the hour to show the ringing of the bells.

Hey Simon I live just a few miles from Greenfield Village where the Bennett building now stands. I worked for a pest control company and the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village was one of my accounts. Ten years or so ago I was up in a bucket truck trying to get rid of some wasps nest behind those figures. It was a lot of fun, didn't get stung or fall out of the bucket.

One of my favorite up cycles so far.

Great finds, the milk bottle reminded me of my milk monitor days at primary school when we were given a quart pint of milk each day and I was given the prestigious role of collecting the crates to take from class to class. Happy days, happy memories.

Great work on the sea glass, how beautiful! Then to utilize it as a stained glass for the top of that lovely piece is amazing! And it fits on top of a cod bottle you cut down. What a wonderful mind Si always amazing everyone 😮😮😮⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜

That was a great upcycle Simon, I think that was one of my favorite vids, being a leather worker, that piece of leather was a gem. I am always scouring around for old leather to use in my bags. I lived half of my life in California and love grew up loving anything western so the cowboy gun and history of the statue was fun to see and if that wasn't enough you even made reference to one of my favorite songs," Proud Mary" by the best group ever! CCR, even if you did call it rolling by the river by Tina Turner, her version wasn't a patch on The original, HA HA! Sorry about the self indulgence, but I couldn't help myself! 😉🤠

Am always amazed at your wide ranging creativity and skill. I repurpose jewelry-earrings into pendants, single earrings into lapel pins etc. A jeweler turned a Balinese style pair of earrings into a butterfly ring- with 2 opposing amethysts and moonshine stones. Knew I'd get much more wear out of it as a ring. I can see how things might be repurposed, but since I don't have soldering skills, I need help. I find things on Boston streets. Coins regularly, have found other people's passports, pilots licenses, blank bank checks- all brought so they could be returned to rightful owners. One of my best finds, one wintry might, was a coin with a "young Victoria," on it-from one of the Maritime Provinces before Canada became the confrderation. As a child I went to the Henry Ford Museum, but didn't know to look for the transplanted statues. I really appreciate how courteous all you mudlarkers are to each other and how respectful you are of the places you search. Sunny Davidson, Boston, MA USA
