Maggies abilities are cohesive when you think about it. She's just trying to bring as much chaos as she can to the games. What's more chaotic than a bloody warlord running at you super fast with a shotgun while setting you on fire?

I think Maggie’s drill is for like getting past a riot shield She did do a lot of riots on Salvo

One of her passives should be when she is downed she can spit her tooth dealing 10 damage

I think her passive ties her abilities together. Both her tac, and ult deal some damage, and in most surcumstances, to enemies that you don't have direct line of sight to. The short scan gives you just enough information to know what your enemies are doing or if they are still where you think they are.

You're right when it comes to her abilities they are incohesive, but the tagline of the season is to "embrace the madness" Soooo in a way it makes sense that it doesn't make senese 🤷

Honestly, Macro is right about Maggies ability's not matching together but I think thats the point. She's supposed to be a chaotic character, right? Especially her ultimate, just release it in a small building then boom, You dont know whats going on.

I really enjoy how they style Maggie's "madness" because it works with both meanings of the word. All the "mad" things she does (biting someone's nose off, taking out a guy's eye with her own broken tooth, etc.) are fuelled purely out of spite. She's like if Doomguy was petty.

That sick mastiff animation reminds me of the old Mozambique animation when you switch it with another gun your character will aggressively throws it to the ground

One other thing to mention is that the drill can go deep, like really deep haha it can go through several meters and not be affected by the thickness of the wall

You can use Maggie's drill on crypto's drone , a flying flame thrower 😂😂😂 You can also dual wield her tactical with other weapons and get a range boost on her drill with scopes on main weapon Ps- macro you already explained the crypto Maggie combo 😂😂😂

Maggie buff: Add a second shot to her tactical similar to Bangalore smoke. And if they do that, add 8 to 10 seconds to get cool down time to balance it out

Great video and I like the passive concepts especially the sledgehammer on.

The first passive is good for hitting people thru smoke or with the ult to see where they bounce off to, it can also potentially help see which way people are running if they duck behind a corner

Yesss I’ve been waiting for this to see if I should buy Maggie or not

I think her ultimate could be buff in damage like to 30 so it doesn’t feel like a valk missile

I'm having SO much fun with Mad Maggie! Gotta say, though: hard disagree with your assessment that her abilities are a grab bag of random things with no cohesion. The way I see it, all of them work together to encourage a "full send, no hesitation, no mercy" playstyle. Drill forces enemies out of cover so you can slap them - the highlighting aspect of Warlord's Ire helps you follow-through on that slapping - the shotgun part of Warlord's Ire encourages you to get up in their face for the slapping - Wrecking Ball further encourages said up-close-and-personal slap time, but it can also make your enemies more vulnerable to being slapped (if you get the stun off), too. I think this synergy is so awesome because it *feels* like Maggie herself-it feels like you're being asked to roleplay as a bloodthirsty lunatic. It feels... Well. Mad!

After mad Maggie came I have been seeing less campers and that’s amazing

Also a thing for the tactical You can shoot it and it will drill through anything with a depth of 13 or below (yes anything from what I can tell) with no decrease in the burn range

The best part of this series is the mini skit you make at the start of the vid

I know there's better Legend Match ups but I feel like Fuse, Maggie and Gibraltar are a good combo Shield to enclose them in Fire surrounding the shield Fire grenades in the shield Fire drill Throw Junkrats ult into the Sheild Etc etc

Another tip, the ball ultimate does almost no damage. If you want to use it, use it for the stun and not for the entire 10 to 20 damage it does

her equipment fits. Her passive makes it possible for her to get closer to her opponents faster. Her drill is so the opponents need to beware of giving her an opening. and her ball allows her squad to get to the opposing snobs and if she hits the one who gets stoned they give her another opening to push

I've mained her since release and my squad is just octane, maggie, and gibby. We've had a lot of success and she's gotten me out of my supportive mindset with lifeline and made me the aggressor for our team

I love it how Macro is just every legend from Apex into one human body. He gives the BEST legend tips because he’s all 20 legends in one person.

Maggie was sent into the games without a respawn becon like other legends so she's die for real in the games and never get respawned. Which I'm guessing is how they're sentencing her to death.

her kit is cohesive due to the theme of displacement (referencing her chaotic character) the wrecking ball pushes enemies towards you, which makes shotguns and SMGS much more useful. Her drill forces enemies out of cover, making them an easy target to run up on and secure the kill

i think the passive makes sense for maggie, and you can spin the incongruity of her tactical+ult as “well as an underground freedom fighter she’s fought with whatever she could find” lol

Idea: The ball only exists because she needed an ultimate. She had the drill, handy tool from salvo, but she had no iconic special thing she could do, so they gave her something destructive as to not break the rule of all their new participants having a gimmick on a timer. She doesn't seem too attached to it, uses it like any other weapon. And has no seeming iconic relation to it whatsoever. It'd just make sense that the apex crew decided to give her something that vaguely fit her kit's theme, because Silva wanted her in soon so they couldn't custom-build any new stuff.

Macro, I just have to say I love that you use the boneworks soundtrack for an outro, amazing content!

Maggie's abilities go pretty well together. She has a drill for breaching doors or forcing people out of cover, and a wrecking ball to breach doors and stun enemies indoors. After she uses either ability she can follow up with a shotgun (which is great indoors) and speeds faster than anyone else in the game.

I actually found her to be very useful for bridge and clear tactics. I mean use her tactile to break down doors or just do some damage in the room and toss in your ult to cause a little chaos then clean up with the shotgun when you slide in it's pretty fun.

I feel like it’s worth noting that her tactical drills then burns so you can shoot it through any wall or any chunk and burn the enemies on the other side. The max distance you can shoot it through a chunk is 15m, and the distance doesn’t change the flame

Her kit makes sense if you think about it this way: her "scan" is useful after a gunfight where the opponent is weakened and searching cover, then is where you use the drill to scare them out of that cover and the scan allows you shoot the drill exactly where they are, and then, you use your speed boost with shotguns and your ult to rush or breach the area at full speed and catch them by surprise... It's just a breaching character like you said

More tips: The HUD does not mean the drill's fire gets smaller or longer depending on the wall. It's weird, but most walls you can use it on as long as there are no other objects inbetween that may obstruct. All shotguns are viable on her now. Yes, even the Mozambique. Pistols usually have better movement speed with ADS (Aiming down sights) in general than say, a Carbine. But since a Mozambique is considered a pistol and a shotgun, she actually has a speed buff while aiming, making it extremely difficult to hit her in close quarters if you move around while ADS'ing and shooting.

Maybe it’s because it’s 3am or maybe it’s because my sense of humour has died, but that whole Mad Mackie bit had me cackling like a madman. Your best intro in ages.

The key to a good multiplayer experience is if its op there should be a counter like the shotgun and energy sword

something to note is that the drill is more of a slow burn so if you block a door with it and heal theres a decent chance someone will figure that out and slide through the door and smack you while only taking a couple points of damage

Finally i have been waiting so Long and finally it came

It's hard to believe that this came out 2 years ago, I remember her coming g out and my friends and I were excited and all that

I was playing her a lot today in ranked. Which is strange, considering the fact that I've been gravitating more towards characters with better mobility, but she does help me gain more practice with shotguns. Thanks for the tips Marco :) I also think she's sort of a medium character to play. Bangalore would be easier for newer players, I think.

When season 12 came out I thought you already posted it but no but I waited and it’s finally here

The abilities do sort of fit together. Maggie is meant to be a breacher character. Her wrecking ball gives you the boosts you need to push while destroying any defenses in front of you, her tactical can hit enemies crowded behind cover, and her proficiency with shotguns makes her great in those tight, indoor fights. The scan passive is sort of just tagged on to compliment the drill but it’s not too important outside of that

amazing vid as always, i personally think mad maggies ult should have a slight buff because the damage just doesnt really hit and if respawn were to do that then the recharge of her ult should slow down, i like her drill a lot and i think it is fine where it is and she is just fine in the meta
