He more so suspected his dad wasn't his biological father. And he confirmed it via DNA testing at his dad's funeral. His dad refused to talk to him for 3 months when he asked about it as a teenager. The Irish guy was thought to be the father because they had a birth mark on their penises that matched, but if I remember correctly the results came back negative. And when Wilson confronts House with the results he says "I guess my mom's not as boring as I thought" much to Wilson's confusion lol.

I think in the series finale most of the main characters are actually setup for a happy life and future if they truly want it. Don, Roger (sort of reunited with his wife, parenting their grandbaby and being there for their son-in-law), Pete Campbell, Joan, Peggy/Stan, and even Red seemed genuinely happy for Don when he watched him leave the meeting.

Being a millionaire isn't as lovely as it seems and we clearly see Roger struggling a few times during the series. Seeing his daughter tell him off and go frolic with her druggie hippy friends after abandoning her baby and husband was the biggest time, but in a weird way it saves him because now he is a father to both Joan's baby as well as his own grandson. I disagree. I think it alleviated some guilt he had to simply throw money at the "problem". Roger and Joan are very much like Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan in the Great Gatsby. They aren't good for each other in the current moment, but their hearts will always be joined in a way that no other relationship could ever touch.

I figured Don was Gatsby, as an artificial, fabricated, origins denying, re-maker of reality (both personally & professionally)
@Luboman411
@Luboman411 Год назад
Jay Gatsby was infatuated with Daisy to the point where he became utterly delusional. I would call Roger many things, but delusional is not one of them. And Daisy never really reciprocated, tethered tightly to Tom Buchanan. Joan, however, definitely reciprocated because she despised her infantile, rapey husband so much. In other words, Roger and Joan are nothing like Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan.

She literally did what society expected a woman to do, and she married a bum. She knew what Roger was, loved him but he was never going to be a good man for her. He can’t settle down because he’s always chasing skirts. And she refuses his money because she has her own and she wants to respect herself. She was someone caught in the middle of wanting to be someone’s wife as she was raised to be and wanting a career because she was more capable that almost anyone in that office, but because she was a woman, and a beautiful woman, she was never taken seriously.

They never planned for a third wave. Also the Japanese dive bombers were not very accurate, they most likely would have not been able to do much damage to the oil tanks or repair facilities. Also would have faced heavier AA fire and American planes, thereby losing more planes and pilots, and would have had to have landed their planes back in the aircraft carriers in the night.
