The bounce you think you are seeing is a software artefact. The camera is on a long pole off the back, and the pole is continuously bouncing, amplifying movement. The software then tries to stabilize the video based roughly on the horizon, so the apparent movement gets transferred to the position of the vehicle in the frame , and the nearest part of the road surface. Check the yellow lines apparently "bouncing around" in some sequences. In truth the lines are not in reality bouncing around - it is a visual artefact of the image stabilizing software. Same to a large extent for the car. Having said all that, yes the course is bumpy in parts, especially upper sections which get freezing/thawing damage.

@@drwho5437 yes back when it was dirt and when you could camp. I'm sure that erosion has been slowed down considerably since we got pavement to the top, but yes that changes the game a good bit.

Mike said 3am.....but I'm sure that's 3am start. They apparently need to be done and dusted by 5.30am to allow the road to open for public traffic by 7am?

@@jameshatton4405 I was off on the time. 2 am wake up, leave house at 3 am, get there close to 4 am, gate opens, they start practice at 5am, end about 9 am.

@@JonWalkow still a lot to pack into a short window of time. It's actually impressive how they can do such an event and still remain a fully functional road outside of the racing hours? In Australia we block off the heart of the Gold Coast city for months in preparation for a 4 day racing event. Literally 3 months of non functional roads........ great racing tho 😁

... I didn't see any 360* camera action...just straight ahead single point of view from a camera on a stick. I didn't see where the car had been; just where it was going....

@@K03sport the very start, and throughout the entire video you can see where the stitch/hidden pole is. This is a 360 cam. They just edited a certain key frame for the whole video to keep the angle they wanted.

this can literally be done in post edit. They chose to edit the video in vertical, why, my guess for mobile consumption. But they could just as easily make an edit for a 16:9 or even 21:9.
