With everything else that happened in Bam's career its easy to forget how good of a skater he really was. He always skated the hugest stuff too, even in his comeback footage he skates some massive spots.
He amped me up to hit the streets always! The CKY days were madness! Kinda wish he kept it away from Hollywood and Johnny Knoxville to be honest! Jackass just made a Skateboard culture ‘mainstream’ through idiocy and with very little Skateboarding involved...
I love how your doing this for older skaters and showing the younger generation about skaters that are legends but have also been forgotten good videos man!
I don't skate. I have never skated.. I watch your videos and I show your videos to my son. What you are doing translates to so much in life. I do mountain bike, and you have inspired. Thanks
@@JonnyGiger if I could have ever perfected a trick it would be a 360 flip to backside tail slide. I would love to see you do that. I've only witnessed it done once and I have no idea who or where but it was at an indoor competition and it looked so slick.
Hey Jonny, thx so much for all your sk8 vids, i was skating 20 years ago, at the time Rodney und Daewon Round 1 came out. I loved it but stopped after about 2 years because of Work. My son(10) started skating now, and i got my 20 year old deck out of my basement and started skating again. I was amazed what i was still possible to land, with my old deck. I'm 37 now and your vids helped me alot with nailing underflips and tre's. Keep on going, i'm moving to Switzerland in Winter, will keep skating and maybee we'll meet @Skatepark in Swiss next year. 👍👍👍
I won some trucks from a local shop in an instagram promotion the other day. Dug out my old blueprint deck from the garage and did an ollie for the first time in 17 years! Shame my knees are knackered these days!
Viva la Bam, Jackass? Nah son. CKY boy. No one mentions where Bam actually came from anymore... CKY was top shelf entertainment. I have so many memories watching the CKY videos with my high school friends. Good times. Better times.
Hey Jonny, I really like the series and your passion for skateboarding in general. The dedication you put in landing the tricks and presenting them in an entertaining way.. .I appreciate that! I have no idea how to skate, the only trick I can do is getting hurt spectacularly. I can do that switch though :) Just wanted to tell you that non-skaters watch your videos as well.
Thank you, Jonny! You have single handed lay got this decrepit old 46 year old guy back on a board after 15 years of not slamming…. Ouch! It hurts way more now but watching your love of skating and the awesome feeling of pulling a trick you’ve tried to pull literally hundreds of times is totally inspiring! You’re the man!
The magic of skateboarding will always blow my mind... The way your feet move and the pressure applied to the board is gnarly! One sport I really wish I knew how to do! Bam will always be one of my favorites and its awesome to see someone honor him like this! 👍 Great video man! Keep shreddin!
Huge fan of Bam Margera going back to CKY. I don't care if he drinks. Or does whatever I'll always be a fan of his. His skateboarding, his sense of humour. Awesome!
Bro I love how you started with the really complicated shit in your earlier videos and started bringing back the basics. When I first learned how to Ollie I was so fucking stoked. It opened up a world of possibilities. This video was fucking awesome bro.
The key to locking kickflip bs axels/5050s is to flip at the last second, don't think about the rotation as you usually overturn it. If you think of turning into an axel rather than trying to turn your body with the flip, coming at it with more of an angle rather than 90. Body stays straight whilst turning instead of the front hand bringing more of a spin. Speaking from experience. Rad video Jonny. I landed a Nollie Laser flip Rock to fakie a month or so ago. Stoked.
I remember watching Bam skate in Polaski..I was 13 I think..He was trying to land an insane trick towards the middle of the street. I think it was a Manual to Fside 180 heelflip on a really big drop. Thrasher magazine was there.
I had a red bam heartagram element board during his rise and it was the coolest thing on the planet to me to have the board and ride my same board in Tony Hawks Pro Skater. I think it was 3 that had mine
"Sloppy transition skills" my ass. I just realized Giger is the new Daewon Song in the fact that I had NO IDEA he could skate transition. And upon learning this, he skates it better than most.
I love that shove it tail grab, hand shove it. Awesome trick. Also, i find it funny you struggled with the noseslide body varial.... that trick was so much easier than the rest of the stuff you did.
Nice to see you getting out of your comfort zone btw great videos even for an old non skater as me picturing myself doing that impossible stuff. I love all your content. Its like being the guy turn the cassettes, rolling the blunts and giving annoying advices watching you the whole day trying your shit until you get it.
very dope. i know bam wasnt technically the best skater or whatever but he was a major inspiration for me as a teen with the whole lifestyle associated with him etc. here in germany we didnt have access to all that cali stuff etc so it was amazing to see it go mainstream through the show and reach us across the globe. It's what kept me skating for a long time. and now that im almost 30 im making a come back. I mean Bam did it right? edit: by comeback i mean me going out to do basic shit and have fun with it cause i lost my drive for a while there with the corporate world and all that.
sup giger...from PANAMA. ... far away a? jajaja I LOVE THIS VIDEO ... i so flowww.... how u aproach to camara and talk to us is very natural.......love it :)
Fuckin love Bam Margera dude i know bam margera since before jackass and viva la bam, whoever played tony hawk on playstation 1 knew him there he was my favorite after tony hawk. Thanks for this episode man.
Thank you for making this video and showing bam some love. Bam has gotten a lot of shit over the years but he’s still one Of my fav skaters ever. Can’t believe you didn’t do the SSBSTS
