Just as Shrek poked fun at Disney, I feel like this movie was poking fun at _The Lion King_ specifically. It was also, one of Bernie Mac's last roles. He played Zuba and passed the year this was released.
@SWC-el8lp No Im genuinely just wondering bc I watched a lot of reactions to this movie so I came across his comments pretty often. I thought I was going crazy 😭
The fact that Hans Zimmer co-wrote the lyrics of Moto Moto's Big and Chunky song made me respect him as a composer even more. His range is absolutely incredible and it's hilarious to know that he composed this movie and co-wrote Moto Moto's song 😂😂
Hans Zimmer : *Composed a lot of incredible soundtracks such as Interstellar, Batman, Dune, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lion King, and many more* Also Hans Zimmer : *Composed the Madagascar trilogy and co-wrote the lyrics of Moto Moto's Big and Chunky song* 😂😂😂
Personally, my favorite of his soundtracks was in Spirit. And wow, there’s really a difference between that and Moto Moto lol. Respect to Hans Zimmer for pulling that off. Also, I wonder if it bothers Hans that Disney named a bad twist villain the same thing as him.
My favorite dialogue in this movie has always been, "This is your captain speaking. I have good news and bad news. The good news is we're landing immediately. The bad news is: we're crash landing."
Alex's k*dnap as a child is why he was so freaked out when he woke up in that crate on the tanker in the first movie. He has PTSD about it, but he doesn't remember why he has it.
I love when they connect things that didn't have any meaning before and they do it well. The birth mark they couldn't explain because it wasn't in the first one, but I like how they turned the freaking out in the box into a PTSD thing
I can imagine the audiences asking themselves why Alex was afraid of being in the crate in 2005/2006, not knowing the truth until Escape 2 Africa came out
“easy private, just a smooch, a smooch like your kissinv your sister” will forever be one of the funniest things i ever heard, penguins are the best part of these movies i swear 😭😂
@@sinofgreed1150 Actually they got their own series first then a movie! Although was that really a surprise, it’d be a bigger surprise if they didn’t get their own movie!
Madagascar 2 was the first movie I ever saw in the movie theater. And that experience is something I will never forget. Back in 2008, my dad just got out of the hospital after having back surgery, and he took me to see Madagascar 2. The movie was phenomenal. It’s still amazing, and it always will be. It’s the best one out of the three. The cast, the plot, the setting, the music, everything, just excellent. It’s one of the best sequels in a franchise I’ve ever seen.
To be honest I love this movie’s villain. He’s like a Dreamworks version of Scar! But something I have noticed is Alex never had that birthmark in the original, so Dreamworks added the birthmark for this movie.
I love how the studio gave a bigger role to Nana Beca audiences love her in the first movie. I mean geez, at some point i'd like to see Nana beating Po from Kung Fu Panda 😂
If you look close they all actually have different stripe patterns, cool detail. Cuz zebras irl have different stripe patterns that act like fingerprints.
Given the rivalry between Disney and Dreamworks, I very much doubt the similarities are a coincidence. Makunga is basically Scar without the subtlety or class.
“No animal has a more distinctive coat than the zebra. Each animal's stripes are as unique as fingerprints-no two are exactly alike-although each of the three species has its own general pattern.”- National Geographic
If you look closely at the other zebras in this movie, you will actually notice they do indeed all have different stripe patterns, not to mention differences in their manes and faces. I was very surprised that they didn’t just duplicate the Marty character model exactly but took the time to make subtle differences!
Thank you for letting me know I’m not the only one dealing with this awful throat sore. I couldn’t even speak the other day and my throat feels like someone’s been stomping on it all day
I love all the characters, but i felt like king julian is an underrated character. Hes feels like a buffon, but he actually has been a good friend to our main cast and even a good king to his clan. Actually trying to solve problems and keep everyone alive and safe. Even though his privilege of power comes out, hes actually a good king.
I live DreamWorks so much! Such a fun opposition to Disney where it is still for the family but really with adults in mind. Be it inuindos or just reference most children wouldn't get, while still managing to have a digestible story for kids to follow. I've been going over DreamWorks movies lately and am just in awe at what I missed but also a true love and appreciation for the company. I love Disney, but DreamWorks occupies a special place in my heart.

I watched a clip on David Letterman's channel and he said click and ring the bell and I burst out laughing. All I could hear was Tara and I thought Dave should've gone that route.😄
i remember watching this when i was a kid and was so curious to know how far Madagascar to Africa was and it turns out madagascar is technically apart of africa so depending where they went it wasn't that far 😂. also can't wait for you guys to watch the 3rd one and hopefully watch the movie with the penguins
The penguins are total mvps of the movies. They have a spin off show that’s really funny. Although, my fav part of this movie was the barrel of monkeys playing telephone. Bassett hound.
OMG HI Reject Nation I'm a huge fan by the way, I like your movie reactions a lot, I used to watch Madagascar 2 escape of Africa when I was younger it's one of my favorite movies ever growing up, it's really funny 🤣 at the same time, it's really adorable, I feel so bad for Alex the lion, the actors did a good job, the deigns looks a good job, I can't not wait to see your movie reactions soon.
Are you guys going to react to the Percy Jackson Trailer that just dropped!? It looks so good and I’d love to see a reaction for it and maybe even the series if you guys have the time!
I watched this in theaters as a little kid (first one of these I had seen actually) and I remember sobbing and being genuinely HORRIFIED by the beginning of the movie when Alex gets kidnapped 😭
I think Marty,s like mottle is the exact same mottle they used for Donkey from Sheck but they decided to pout some stripes on it to make it a Zebra and when ever DreamWorks make,s a new installment to ever of these 2 franchises they paint 🎨 the model from stripes over the last brown Donkey 🫏 color brown Donkey color over the last Zebra stripes over and over again I think that’s what they did with Marty and Donkey because I can see that resemblance with how they look
Yea the kid on the moon fishing, that is the owner of DreamWorks son, I Believe he based it off of him. If you see the DreamWorks intro now the boy is older
