She was baptized on October 5, 1640 in Lussac-les-Châteaux and died on May 27, 1707 in Bourbon-l'Archambault. She also bears the name of Mademoiselle de Tonnay-Charente, but takes her most famous name from her marriage in 1663 to Louis-Henri de Pardaillan de Gondrin, which gives her the title of Marquise de Montespan. Present at the court of Versailles, she becomes the mistress of Louis XIV. Seven children were born from their relationship.
