Extremely excited for venom three, don’t really care about the rest of them that much. Might do what I did for madame web where I sneak into a viewing after the movie I actually want to see ends, but l don’t really care at the end of the day.
@ShadowKamehameha32 Saw the movie a few hours ago. They thought it was ok. Wasn't bad, wasn't good. But they really liked the Spiderman references, and they also felt like they had missed a film that featured the three spider women as adults. They also really liked the dialogue because they could actually understand what was happening, unlike Oppenheimer.
I was literally just listening to a Doctor Who audio drama about spiders with time loop powers when this video dropped. Must be lunch time for the Goblin king. Anyhow, it was called 'The End,' and it was basically 'Doctor Who does Sliding Doors,' in which we're following two separate timelines. One where the Doctor is dying from a spider bite, and the other where it's his companion Valarie. The side cast were all pretty one note, but the story did give the two lead actors some great material to chew on. Even though I'd probably call it the weakest of Series 7V of the Doctor Chronicles, I imagine it was a far more entertaining experience than watching Madame Web.
This was the most incredible review I've heard. I've made a bit of a hobby from listening to all the bad reviews of this movie and this is easily my favorite. It deserves so many more views.
While drinking my overpriced Blue Raspberry ICEE as I saw this film, I had a strange feeling that I should buy some Pepsi-Cola in the near future. Weird, right?
The ICEE company was bought a few years ago by a larger company that distributes hot pretzels and other snack foods, but at least it’s not owned by PepsiCo!
I don't get advertised movies in general, let alone super hero. So When i see ads about a super hero movie, i immediately assume marketing didn't know who to market this to. I knew it was going to be a complete failure when they started to place it on my ads feed. This was Madame Web to a T, two weeks of ads followed by my actual RU-vid feed full of reviewers swarming over it. At this point in life you can know the quality of a theatrical release by seeing where the ads popup.
In the early 80s the video game industry was bloody booming. Some games would be great (for the time at least), and some would be rubbish, but they would broadly speaking sell well either way. Then the video game crash happened, and that was in large part due to market saturation and very poor quality control. Most importantly though the end consumer wasn't able to tell a good game from a bad one and so lost all confidence. Super hero films existed before the mcu but Iron Man triggered a huge boom. For a while any superhero film would do great even if it was a rubbish movie. Partly because of broader confidence in Disneys MCU and partly because the super keen fans would be more forgiving of a bad film as long as it wasnt too bad. I know its very popular now to shit on the mcu and other superhero franchises, but I really see parallels between now and the 80s. So many superhero films are coming out that even hwrdcore fans are getting fatigued, and the wider audience is losing interest and losing faith that the studios will put out high quality films. The market is saturated and the quality is dropping. Sony releasing garbage films is not only doing damage to their own franchises but also to ofher studios too. Sony are repeating the mistakes of Atari and the whole genre will suffer as a result. Sadly their corporate greed and lack of any quality control are going to cause serious damage to the industry, and has already begun. I've been such an insufferably annoying super keen super fan since 2007, and I genuinely just dont care anymore. Thor 4 was disappointing, quantumania was hot garbage, and I never bothered to see the marvels. Nothing against Brie Larson I think shes a talented actor but I just dont really care anymore. Its rather sad because otherwise I was quite keen on the upcoming fantastic four and secret wars films. But even though I think deadpool 3 looks great, I still probably won't go see it in the cinema because I just don't trust that a good trailer implies a good film anymore. I think the studios should work harder to produce high quality to earn back trust again. But I doubt they will.
I went saturday with some friends, and I swear I had motion sickness during all the fucking movie. The rotational close ups, added with the image filters were headache inducing. Also the plot is so insane that my gf thought i was trolling her when i explained to her yesterday.
It really is discombobulating in its presentation, I’m glad it’s not just me. There’s a great meme going round outlining the events of this movie in a way that makes them sound even more ridiculous than they feel in context. Truly a phenomenal experience.
My favourite part is where they make a big fuss and emphasis on two of the Spider-Girls doing the other one's nails... only she has zero nail polish or extensions on at all. Just normal nails. Were her nails so bad that they just cut them and high-fived a job well done after?
I heard a great idea on TikTok or somewhere. If Sony wanted a good villain for this movie, they could've gotten better lawyers and figured out how to make it Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man during that down period he referenced in NWH. I also heard a theory that the only reason they set it in 2003 was because the Pepsi plant isn't there anymore.
For me the most revealing aspect of the movie is that right after Madame Web's release, Sony announced that even their other projects are going to be more male oriented like the silk show which had mostly female writing staff has fire most of the female writers except the show runner and are hiring more male writers as Sony sees female writers as the problem. Like they do know the problem is that they have bad scripts with stupid as hell editing.
You should delete the “I am lying” part from your title. It makes anyone reading your title think “Yeah, No sh*t” because no one likes this movie and it’s so incredibly bad that everyone already knows the title is a joke before they click on the video. Anyway, good video.
Thank you, I really appreciate it! I’ve been having fun with the weekly uploads but was a little concerned I may have sacrificed a bit of quality in the process. So it’s great to get some feedback.
I appreciate your politeness in reviewing this film. Many of the other reviews are mean-spirited. However, so is the film; I sense a contempt for its audience.
I can't lie I went in with a bit of optimism when I went and saw this movie..... That was severely misplaced and I don't say that lightly. It's genuinely horrendous.
You say you're lying so you must be telling the truth, but you can't be telling the truth because you say you're lying, but if you say you're lying you must be telling the (brain explodes)....
There are some people who are quite charitable to this film, I think out of pity due to the relentless trashing. Then they see the film... and join in.
Yeah I struggle to get behind the idea that we should go easy on this film because some people at some level were trying their best. If you can’t be mean about this movie, genuinely what can you be mean about.
I was so upset that there was hardly anything to laugh about in it. Venom is one of my favorite movies because at the end of the day it’s an entertaining romp where Tom hardy and Tom hardy but a black goop symbiote fall in love. Morbid was horrible but at least we get the eleventh doctor doing some terminally un sexy sexy dancing. Madame web brought none of that camp, it was just boring. I might be judging prematurely since I walked out of the theater Halfway through but i couldn’t take more when I knew Lisa Frankenstein, an actually fun movie was playing down the hall
How bout we all be honest and acknowledge that 99% of mainstream comics are trash (and always have been). We can easily conclude that at least 99% of superhero movies based off mainstream comic characters/stories are trash as well. Yes, this means that your favorite superhero fimls and franchises are OBJECTIVE trash. You may disagree, but you are incorrect. You have general shit taste in movies and comics. Yes... YOU, the individual that is aggravated with this comment 😊
