Honestly, all I know about Madame Web is from the last season of Spiderman TAS, when she was helping him through different worlds, and that she was a psychic. Outside of that, I'm going in blind
They literally hired back the writers of Morbius because that’s the quality they think their viewers deserve- Sony clearly doesn’t care about the writing and thinks proximity to Spiderman is enough (it’s not). The line “He was with my mom in the Amazon when she was researching spiders right before she died” is one of the worst written lines I’ve heard in a very long time
It’s funny yall are so hung up on that line when it’s clearly ADR for the trailer. Yall need to differentiate trailer dialogue from the final product. Many films have them. And many writers can write good and bad things. Always blaming writers is tiresome. How does anyone ever expect them to improve if they’re constantly crapping on them? That goes for all film, tv, game, etc writers. Your favorites have certainly wrote terrible things before.
@@SpiderManMCUniverse I actually 100% agree that it’s ADR, but I certainly don’t think all of the lines are, and every other bit of dialogue in this is a tired cliche like “welcome back to the land of the living”, or stilted and unnatural as hell like “we’re going to help you out today” while comforting a trapped person in a car wreck- who actually talks like that? Do you truly expect this is going to be some vast improvement on the garbage they’ve felt comfortable churning out? As for the writers, yes, a large portion of a film’s success is entirely up to them. There is a large difference between letting someone develop and grow as a writer and paying them twenty bucks to watch them take a shit on paper. If these two didn’t learn to improve after Dracula Untold, the Last Witch Hunter, Gods of Egypt, and Morbius they clearly haven’t had any interest in doing so. Imagine making all your financial decisions by betting on the worst stocks and saying “I’m sure they’ll do better this time” you would be broke as hell. There’s a reason all of their films have bombed- Morbius bombed, Gods of Egypt bombed, TLWH bombed, etc. Ignoring all that in favor of a narrative that each project is independent and any writer can produce gold is about as ignorant as handing a four year old your car keys and sending them on their way With that said, yes- good writers have had bad projects- but they certainly haven’t ONLY written a myriad of terrible films with nothing of worth to show after over a decade of writing

Yeah the plot is the evil spider guy is going after them because they are trying to project a unborn Peter Parker. So the other EMT guy is uncle Ben and his sister Mary is pregnant with a variant peter Parker)
Is that even true outside of rumors? This trailer frames the story as Ezekiel trying to kill the three Spider-Women (Julia Carpenter, Anya Corazon, Mattie Franklin) before they get their powers. Nothing in this remotely hints toward Peter, so I don’t buy that theory.

@@CompositeCreativity Emma Roberts is confirmed to play as Mary Parker and was pictured on set with a baby bump. Besides, this is sony, usually the rumors surrounding their spidey projects are all true.
Man knows what’s good. I love the plot, triller in a superhero movie is quite new and like to new things. Also the director is really good she’s the next big thing in Hollywood
Of course for the Madame Web trailer reaction, there would be technical difficulties. This was a great reaction video and keep up the great work.😀 Can’t help technology, sometimes it has a mind of it’s own. Just inspiring that you had the confidence to share this in the first place, despite not fully having video footage. That’s why recording audio separate can be really useful sometimes, so something can be salvaged out of that.
Madame Webb did have a story close to this one in the books, where she put a team of spider-women togther to stop a evil spider-woman from stealing their powers. Ezkeil Sims, who got his powers from a ritual in the jungle, was a good guy in the books. He started the whole spider totem idea, but Morlun was the evil guy who came after Spider-Man's power. So they made Ezkeil evil now ,added a suit for him, and smashed two closely related story lines together. Also they included a young Uncle Ben Parker and his sister-in-law a pregent Mary Parker are also in here and the girls have to protect them as well. Possible the baby seen in this is baby Peter. And how they deal with three diffrent origin stories for the diffrent Spider-Women/Girl will be intresting as well. Its going to be a busy movie.
Ok so I’ve never heard of Madame web before. But apparently she’s another comic book hero but here’s my question. Does she cross over with Spider-Man or is she apart of the series?
Ezekiel Sims in the comics is not a villain instead he helps to protect Peter from the Inheritors ( Morlun) and explains about the totems but in this trailer he goes after all the spider Girls to kill them. That's inaccurate
The technical difficulty wasn't a problem for me because it happened after the reaction to the trailer. Yeah, I only know the older Madame Web of the original Earth-616 before the Ultimate Marvel period. I have her profile card, but I never paid that much attention to it because I never saw her character in Spider-Man comics whenever I read them. I'm really interested in checking this movie out. The supporting characters look cool and they have Julia Carpenter aka Spider Woman who is my favorite female spider character. I like her way more than Jessica Drew the original Spider Woman who has dark hair. I don't know who the other two are, but I wonder if this is taking place in the Gwen Stacey aka Spider Gwen and Andrew Garfield Spider-Man universe. Maybe it will lead into the Amazing Spider-Man 3 which would be awesome. Enjoyed the reaction 👍👍✌out.
I'm digging the Final Destination vibe. I think the Spider-Totem thing will confuse audiences with today's shoddy writing but the spider-women look interesting. Hell, I saw Morbius, I'll see this.
It’s not really ‘today’s’ shoddy writing, it’s just that people keep rewarding studios for not caring about the writing. They literally hired THE SAME PEOPLE WHO WROTE MORBIUS. I truly don’t understand how brain dead a studio has to be to think that’s a great idea, whatever happened to hiring people who demonstrate excellence in their field to create something good? I think things are getting better in that regard, Marvel’s mediocre writing is catching up to them, the Fast franchise’s worsening scripts have seen box office decline, while movies like Barbie, Oppenheimer, and Spiderverse (look what happens when the writers are good) are dojng great

They have flaws too and wouldn’t have gotten to their notable status without hiccups along the way. Nobody’s perfect. Using 1 project to diss a writer’s entire career is pathetic.

You know what no great writer ever did? Churned out absolute shit for over a decade and still got paid inane amounts of money to do so. Also, while the quality of anything can be said to be subjective, the monetary return on a project is incredibly objective and measurable. In this case, their entire resume is one flop after another, and you would say that’s an accident? To say that a pattern means nothing and has no demonstrable merit? You can call it pathetic if you like but when your argument has no data to support it besides a belief in your own subjective truth it’s weak at best. The problem here is I think it may seem like I’m attacking you- I promise I am not. You’re allowed to like these films, I would never try and take that away from you. But you have to realize that the best measure of the general public’s assessment is audience scores and box office returns- audiences have proven time and time again that they do not respond to the work by these writers. Sony can see this and they simply don’t care.

A young Madame Web protects three Spider-Women-to-be against an evil Spider-Man from the future? This is the first Sony-verse movie premise that actually intrigues me. There are a lot of visual cues in the trailer indicating that the story takes place in the early 00s. IMDB says that Adam Scott is playing Ben Parker, Peter's uncle. Emma Roberts is in the cast as Mary Parker, Peter's mom (Ben's sister). So this is before the birth of Peter. The three younger women are all shown in Spider-costumes, and they each have the names of Spider-Women from the comics. The villain, Ezekiel Sims, is also from the comics, and gained spider powers from a magic totem, though in Peter's day, he is much older. So this movie is giving us younger versions of Madam Web and Sims, in a time before Peter's birth, with three future Spider-Women in the mix. I think the ultimate goal will be to ensure that Peter Parker gets born, and Sims wants to stop that from happening for some reason. He has to kill the Spider-Women because even though they are not their hero selves yet, they are still adults and thus able to interfere with his plan. Madam Web, who basically has Spidey-sense turned up to 1011, will "weave" them all together into a team before they were supposed to be Spider-Women, and change the future. Interesting.
@@lessismore8533 Yep. Since the 80s. She was originally introduced as a much older woman, about Aunt Mae's age, who was blind but had precognitive abilities. She served as a kind of mentor to Peter. She's younger in this movie, and so is Uncle Ben, so I think this happens before Peter's birth.
Have you read the concept to what The Amazing Spider-Man 3 with Andrew Garfield was supposed to be? Madam Web was suppose to be a big part of that. So if this is the Madam web from comics, Idk I think I just have really high hops for the direction this is suppose to move that I really want this to bring us back to Andrew Garfields Spider-Man 😭😭😭 he was my favorite
