Took them 6 months to come up with a way to get rid of Madara and even then the solution they came up with was lame asf. A great example of what can go wrong with writing an antagonist character too op.
Man’s had ppl shook just off his legend alone. He made an entire army of ninja look like ants fighting an elephant and brought the 5 Kage to their knees with his power. Madara is definitely one of the goats 🐐

Madara is the perfect example of what happens when you dont know when to stop on the power escalation, and end up making a villain too powerful, and impossible for the readers to buy anyone, even the main character, taking them down. He even had an out with Guy going full meltdown mode but decided to drag it out more until "oops i have to end it uhhh this guy punks him out and now the enemy is this alien that appeared out of nowhere just now! go!" what a shitshow. what an absolute failure of an ending. I love it.
Madara could’ve been sealed away, not necessarily defeated, which would’ve been more sensible than having Zetsu stab him in the back and manifest Kaguya. Would’ve given him a chance to re-emerge in Boruto in a redeemable way, while Kaguya should’ve been the big bad guy of Boruto.

My favorite part of this entire arc was Madara saying “let me try something real quick” before doing two moves that seemed almost impossible and three times he was upset cause someone didn’t die or didn’t want to fight one on one. To him, facing the army was the only resort because nobody was strong enough for the one’s
Madara was too strong that even the author admitted. So the conclusion to defeat Madara was forcible change villain aka plot. Essentially Madara lost to the author.

This is how you make an actual OP character. We have always been told about how strong he is and this arc showed you who is Madara. My only problem is the way he died was so ...... uhhhhh, just gonna say I was disappointed. Compared to other characters from other famous shounen ANIME (one piece, bleach... etc) where their so called "strongest character" didn't deliver ( Not Eizen, he certainly delivered). But again to be fair, Madara's death is not as cool as that character from One piece, so one thing compensated for the other, maybe? Of course, I'm not hating on any of these shows, I'm just disappointed of how they fail to show us the potential of that character for the sake of letting the MC do the job, or develop in strength.
Madara is actually the example of when an character gets too ridiculously overpowered, which is far from a good thing lol. It made him hard to write off and be dealt with. When a writer backs themself into a corner because they don't know how to deal with the problem they've created in their own story, that is not good writing.

The Boruto/Sasuke thing was a callback to the Madara/Kakashi moment--but the Madara one went way harder cuz he was just like "gimme that" YOINK lmao and Minato's severed arm flying at Kakashi while still charged with a Rasengan that was hilarious. Also when Kabuto's reanimation was wearing off n he was like "oh hol up, lemme just re-up on that rq" so he does Edo-Tensei on HIMSELF, but he still undead tho...but then Black Zetsu merging with Obito--practically gave Madara a humanity on some Dark Souls sh*t so it's the REAL alive non-undead Madara like bruh lmao Thing with Madara is that with Pain; we thought we understood the Rinnegan...but in Madara's possession, it's like f*ck the rules--I make the rules lol. I'm still kinda bummed the Tsuchikage didn't get bodied by the two meteors to add emphasis to that moment...he got tens of thousands of extras but nobody major with that--I wish he did. What's cool about Madara vs Night Guy is that Madara was myth in Naruto for a REALLY long time, since OG series...but so was the Eight Inner Gates (I think that was actually established even earlier in the story)--it was a forbidden technique and we've seen a few gates opened, but not all of em.
Minato took on 50 dudes, and regardless it was just one nations army, arguably not even the entirety of the nations forces. Madara took on all of the major countries basically, including main characters, not just fodder like the raikage and Minato did.
People saying the writer didn’t know how to kill Madara can’t tell piss from rain. The more *practical* and obvious option would have been to seal Madara away, given that he faked his death before. It is the one thing to ensure that he remains gone. It isn’t hard to think of that or to execute into the story, it’s a simple and sensible means to an end. I don’t find it coincidental they defeat Kaguya the same way. It was originally Madara’s death but the writer switched it last minute and gave people a bs excuse they happily ate up like Naruto and a bowl of Ichiraku ramen. lol. Smfh. MAdArA waS tOO StROnG but wasn’t Kaguya stronger yet they found a way to get rid of HER in a way that wasn’t absolutely stupid (with regards to Sakura punching her in the head). Also, Kaguya was *CLEARLY* a last minute addition to the story to introduce the main villains of the Boruto series. But yeah. That’s a bunch of bs. Madara’s character was sacrificed for money reasons smfh
The reason why Madara died how he did was because the author admitted he made him so OP there was literally no way to get rid of him and he made that Black Zetsu and Kaguya shit happen.
